What ways can you manage iPads effectively in a school, and I'm talking say 60 iPads and a full management and control over them??
-
I've been looking at that for the past 10 minutes, but the problem is they are all to over the top. I'm looking for something simple where they can log on (but I'm working on having them logged automatically) and write there issue down set a priority and then click send and then the issue is logged. They all seem to complicated and the easier and quicker it is the more likely people are to use it.

I tried it a few weeks ago and I could just never get it to work tbh

I have looked at that before and I'm not fond of it tbh

Hi there I am building a school intranet and on it I would like to put a helpdesk. So as it is easier for us (the IT techs) to keep on top of what jobs we have to do, and to make it easier for staff. So what I'm looking for is something I can add to my web pages that I have done so far. (HTML) Or some help on creating one as I have no idea how to do this. Thanks

Thanks that's helped a lot :) seems nice and simple..... shall give it a go and see where I get

Awesome thanks It would really just to restrict access to stop kids etc going onto it, but if we decided to but the kids on it, is there anyway to then give the two different domains different access?? As the staff are all on the admin domain and the kids are all on the curriculum domain

Server 2008 R2 admin and curriculum domains. awesome thanks Do you have any idea how to code that into the website???

Hey there I'm in the process of creating an intranet for the school, and I was wondering is there a way in which people can log on, but to save them logging on if there is anyway that it can automatically pull there log on details from Active directory and check that against there computer login, and if they are the same then log them on?? does that make sense?? Thanks

Fixed it, as im going through a proxy server, I forgot to tick bypass proxy for local addresses.

Hi there I am playing around with creating an Intranet for the school I work for, but I was wondering if there is a way so that when I link to pages or photos etc, instead of having it going to C:\users\scotyboy56\Pictures\background etc. is there a that I can set my laptop up so as I can store all the stuff I am using to create the website into on location and have it linking to \\intranet\website\pictures\background etc... I hope that makes sense Thanks

Hi there Kirchie Its not that many, only about 6 I think but I use GP to deploy all the software in the school, and it would be easier to have it as an MSI. With your problem with getting MSIs to install, make sure that you are inserting the packages from a network share e.g. \\servername\MSI\example.msi As it won't be able to install unless the client machines can access it (hence the server share) and also make sure that the right security settings are in there. Hope this helps.

Thanks I shall give it a go

Hi there I have no idea how to create an MSI and I have had a look on the internet and I found a few bits of software that helped me create them, but they were only evaluation versions so it was a crap MSI. I need to turn the EPSON projector software software into an MSI, to deploy via GP. Can anyone help me on how to create this, or if you know of any FREE software that will help me. Thanks

Hey there. I have been searching the internet and I came across some nice batch scripts to change my IP address from a static to a DHCP so I have one script that will give me my static IP address and stuff and then I have one that will change it to DHCP, Is there a way to create one script with both of them in but at the start it asks me a question and depending on what answer I give it goes to one script and runs it. I hope im making sense as im really not very good with scripts . Also does anyone have a proxy changing script which I can also do this with as I have to go to 6 schools all with different proxys and I would love it if I could just run a script select the school and then it sets the proxys for me. I know that's lazy but hey what can I say anything for an easier time

Awesome thanks shall give that a go and see if it works how do i make it pick up x64 image instead of x86??
-
No how do I re-generate the Build disks?? and I dont know if it is setup like that how do i check???
-
School I work at has just got a samsung NB200A4B. And I need to create a build disk for it as they will be purchasing more at some point and I have never used MDT before as I have just taken over from a different technician. I have imported all the drivers and the OS into the workbench and it seems to be okay but whenever I pxe boot the laptop it loads the files from boot\x86 etc and I want it to boot from the x64 as it is going to have windows 7 64bit. (does that matter) whenever it finishes loading the files it says that the network driver isn't installed PCI\VEN_10C&DEV_8168&SUBSYS. I have made sure all the network drivers for the laptop have been imported into the deployment workbench. Please help me. Am I doing something stupid?? Im on an apprenticeship so im still very new to all this. Please help me

Thanks for all your help HodgeHI

fair enough then is there any way to set a default location so whenever you turn the laptop on it defaults to that one?
