  1. We're streaming the presentation on the Cyber-security Information Sharing Partnership live now - http://www.facebook.com/TheANME - we'll be streaming the session on Deploying Windows 10 in an Education Environment at 1330 too.
  2. I've not charged my mobile for 4 days, I may need to charge it again tomorrow...
  3. Cool, only one place left until there's a full house! I'll be sending another email out today with details of a couple of afternoon sessions that will run after the Win10 deployment session too...
  4. I missed the last one too, so really hoping I'm free for this one...
  5. Invitations are about to go out to members in the area... It'd be great to meet as many members there as possible
  6. I went through all the groups individually and disabled Pin Groups for them all... @Mic_Impero There needs to be an option to disable it site-wide on the Impero Server like there is for Confide / Patch etc.
  7. Have you tried pressing Delete rather than right clicking and Remove From Group?
  8. Thanks @psycho98 - Had a call from the Business Manager here about this this morning - I was stumped! So this has saved me faffing around looking for the cause/solution...
  9. Hi All! The third Southern ANME meeting has been confirmed for the 19th December, to be held at Epson's HQ in Hemel Hempstead again... Invitations will go out to all members in area, but open to all members as usual... As always - free to attend, free to join if you've not joined yet - Join | Association of Network Managers in Education ANME I'll be updating the stats in the next few weeks again too and sharing them in the private ANME forum on here too.
  10. @clm / @clockend25 / @lfowler - Not knocking NetSupport at all, but as you've already got Impero - have you contacted their support about the issues you're having? The issues of last year are long since gone, and I'm sure they'd want to work with you to get any issues sorted if you're not happy with things... Mic from Impero's on here too with their Direct Support forum, and I'm sure will be happy to help... @Mic_Impero
  11. Thanks! I'm looking forward to arranging it! Should have some news about another event that should hopefully be worth traveling to before then too :-)
  12. I'd handle it in exactly the same way, I think giving anything other than straight answers is more likely to make you look shifty...
  13. I would have done - just wondering after the comments about not telling parents due to the increased risk of students looking for ways to bypass it... I'm confident enough in the software and setup generally in school for it not to be much of a risk... I was just curious what others would say if they didn't want to specify which...
  14. This is quite a well timed discussion for me... as we're hosting a couple of online safety evenings for governors and parents this week and next week... I'll be at both, though just for support and questions rather than delivering content (thankfully!) What would you say if asked directly by a parent which software we use to monitor? Would you just refuse to answer, or say it's confidential etc.?
  15. Is there a best/preferred supplier? I've always used Virtue Technologies as they do a lot with Fujitsu (and it's Virtue that give us the places on the Fujitsu Forum trip to Munich) Can we source directly from Fujitsu? No Can we have contact details (email/web/phone/etc) for the above? Emailed What is the build quality like? I can't fault it - all the new PCs we've bought recently have been the USFF Fujitsu PCs, and love them, not had any issues with them so far. What is the hardware support/warranty like? Seems good, we've had standard 5 year warranties on the server kit, and 3 year on the PCs / Laptops. How easy can you get hold of out of warranty parts and help? Don't think I've needed to try tbh... Any other thoughts? Certainly my first choice when looking for PCs / laptops, and will be my first choice when looking to replace the servers in the future.
  16. All my servers are Fujitsu, as were the last lot before I upgraded, I can't fault them at all - fantastic kit... I've got some great contacts there and with one of their value-added resellers too as they don't sell directly... I'll drop you an email with details.
  17. That over a quarter of the tickets booked already! Should be a great day, and a bit different with the visiting guest speaker(s)
  18. This is a very old thread and quite a bit has changed since the previous post.... What version are you on, and when did you last get the keyword lists from Impero? Well worth checking you've got the latest version of the software and lists... False positives have been dramatically reduced since September...
  19. Last chance to register for this meeting - I need to submit numbers/dietary info at 13.00 today...
  20. Hi All! Lousy time to post about this I know, last thing on a Friday, but the 8th NW ANME meeting is on the 1st December, and invitations are going out in a few minutes... Free to all members as always, and free to join - Join | Association of Network Managers in Education ANME I'll post more info next week, but really looking forward to the meeting, there will be at least one guest speaking who's not from a a supporting company, and what I've heard so far has been really interesting!
  21. I quite like the ASUS kit I've seen and used and can't think of any issues I've had with any of it, but they wouldn't be my first choice for use in a school by the students... The build quality doesn't come close to the robustness of other kit like Fujitsu / Dell / Toshiba etc.
  22. I'm not surprised either really, certainly for the price of a lot of the better ones... Watches aren't something people replace regularly like other gadgets... I still love mine though, had it about 10 months now and I miss it when I wear one of my other watches... When I take it off in the evening I usually still have about 65% battery remaining, but usually charge it every night anyway... It's not something I'd look to replace as often as I replace my phone, but would definitely look at replacing it with another smartwatch when this one starts showing signs of getting slow/poor battery etc...
  23. I'd suggest what @network41 has suggested too, but if that's not acceptable, it'd probably involve giving the laptop a static IP, and creating a rule on your firewall for her IP address to allow it to connect... but once people know it's possible to have personal emails set up on Outlook, more people may request it... I'd ask for the request in writing, stating that it will reduce the security of the network blah blah blah, just to cover your own back...
  24. ICT Teachers have access to student home drives at mine, but we've got a Submission drive that staff can request a folder in, then students can save work in that teacher's folder, but can't see anyone else's in there, and only that teacher can see everything in there... All files in there are deleted after a week to save it getting cluttered. Works really well for us here, and has removed the need to have a shared are that students can save in.
  25. We've just got standard dry wipe boards with out interactive projectors (NEC, not Epson, but they're quite similar)... We got larger than the standard boards to allow a decent image size, but also allowing space at the side of the projected image to leave clear for writing too, they do cost quite a bit more, but they work well for us so I'd definitely recommend wider boards...
