Hi @mikes and @mitchell1981, Unfortunately, impero wasnt designed to work over the internet. As you correctly guessed, it only knows the local IP Address of the machines, so home users will be listed on the Impero Server with the local address, such as 192.168.x.x - which is of course not accessible over the internet. It was designed to work over a LAN only, where the IP Addresses can all 'talk'. The remote control in Impero also creates a *separate* IPV4 TCP connection to the local IP Address inbound to the controller... firewall changes alone wont work. I'm not allowed to mention any products but i'm sure someone could point you in the direction of a cloud-based solution that would do what you are looking for

Our safeguarding is a little more advanced I believe, and should provide everything your DSL needs and more within a very intuitive interface. It was designed in part by the UK Safer Internet Centre and so covers the main things needed to effectively safeguard students and staff across multiple sites(if needed) inside a single portal. We also have a few things others don't have, and that difference will only continue to grow.

It should be fine to use both at the same time, the technology stack is about 95% different :-)

Hey! Sorry for the delay there. Senso.cloud is written in cross-platform code but we've focused on Windows and Chrome so far. Having said that, enough customers have asked for a Mac client recently that we feel we should compile it for Mac now and we're aiming to finish off a few important things first, then do that. At least we don't have to make a mac console as our portal is web-based so that already works on Mac etc. Cheers.

Hi @NB9457 , the management console is a web based portal so without internet it will only continue to do what it was doing, such as viewing screens etc, which does not need an internet connection once the negotiation is made. The client will continue to operate offline and sync when there is a network connection. @tdobeirne lag times should be zero, especially for real time stuff such as remote control... the system connects direct from browser to student machine where possible(after the initial SSL negotiation via the cloud servers). If you have a highly restrictive firewall between the student and your browser or you are wanting to manage the computers in school from outside of school, then it will route via the geo-located cloud servers (which are very low-latency). Hi Tom, since no-one is responding to your post, i thought i'd message to say i know the industry quite well and i cannot think of any way to get the receiver to track the presenters mouse through teamviewer, however, i'll add this as an option into our broadcast module.

Hi @mitchell1981, When i first programmed Impero back in 2001 I used the regular ExitWindowsEX API (see MSDN docs). I have not helped to program (or guide the dev) with Impero for a couple of years at least, but the new team at Impero that took over when i left need to add EWX_HYBRID_SHUTDOWN to the parameters to handle new architectures that exist in todays world. Then you will be able to boot the machine using WOL after shutting down with Impero... alternatively, use the Sleep option which may work and like @LeMarchand said, BIOS Settings are worth a look but that would be a painstainking task. gsk, if you expose the edu pro server to internet then everything except remote control will operate fine. Several servers can also link together for policies etc. We have built Impero Remote Manager for what you are describing though.

Only older versions below 4.2 would be affected and the only thing that went wrong was the Impero Server unregistered itself, nothing else would be affected :-) hth

The credentials are stored inside our Microsoft Dynamic CRM, im not actually sure how Microsoft store the passwords or even where its stored. I believe the portal is based on Sharepoint, dont quote me though. What made you think its stored in plain text?

Just to reiterate what Russ said: We've recently moved to a larger premises and due to the increase in customer base we decided to coincide the office move with a server migration to the cloud. Unfortunately, after all their testing and reassurance, they (the people we paid to mess this up) still managed to poo-poo a select number of SQL records. - customers on v4.2 and above will not have seen any issue at all - customers on v4.126 or below 'may' have seen their server de-register itself due to the data transfer into Azure network - we apologise for that but they should be able to simply register it again - customers on v3.5 or below are not using a supported version but we're making some changes so they can at least re-register their server in case it affected them If you were affected, we do apologise. Moral of the story, don't migrate to the cloud! =D

I've not seen or heard that before but if you call support, they can remote in and run some tests to try and help.

I may be misunderstanding but clever is a direct competitor to youid, they offer the exact same i believe but with the additional youid plugin (optional) it will support any cloud app at all, even none federated ones. I believe the clever api allows vendors to pull stuff from common (usa) student information systems but youid links with AD...

Yes, youid pulls the school AD into a secure cloud environment, but it has a live link to the school which allows kids to reset their own passwords using their phone internet for example. I dont want to say much more because it may be misconstrued as advertising, i know im only answering your questions, but just in case

@Edu-IT good example would be: youid will provision all your o365 accounts because its federated (links with AD). But facebook isnt, so you install the browser plugin, log into youid and use that to launch facebook, it will save your password encrypted in your AD so wherever you log into youid and have the extension installed to browser, it will seamlessly log you into facebook and all your other private apps. Thats just an example, it could be student educational cloud apps that are not federated. A lot of edu apps can be federated though and therefore created when you create an AD account. Hope that helps.

True but the reason for our browser extension is to provide functionality that unify doesn't have, the ability to save personal app passwords. It doesnt need extension for the sso to federated apps like o365 etc. This will work from anywhere without the extension.

Hi guys, I'll keep it factual and this info is on our website or brochures: Youid will replicate your ad in the cloud so you can manage it anywhere. Then when you create ad users it will auto provision office 365 accounts and any other federated applications for each student. If you have impero, it will take their Windows login and seamlessly sign then into their web apps. Otherwise, they only log into youid website once with their ad credentials then they are seamlessly signed into all their web apps without logging in to each. RM unify can do some of this and we both have advantages over the other. I won't list our advantages otherwise this becomes a pitch which it's not Hope this helps clarify.
