  1. I really enjoyed it and found myself wanting more when it ended which is always a good sign. I completely agree with your take on Sandman.
  2. The main differences between them are the CPU and GPU. The Air (5th Gen) has the M1 chip which has 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores. The 10th Gen has the A14 chip which has 6 CPU cores and 4 GPU cores. How much of a difference in performance this translates to will depend on how they intend to use them. In our school the difference would be negligible as the iPads tend to get used mainly for taking photos and videos. You can compare specs here if you want to see the other differences: https://www.apple.com/uk/ipad/compare/
  3. What MDM do you use? It should show you the SN, MAC and IP addr of the managed iPads.
  4. If they insist on colour then you could consider getting an inkjet printer that has the head built into the cartridge, like HP, rather than the Canon/Epson ink only cartridge type. Cheaper than laser/toner and if the head gets blocked and several cleans doesn't work, at least you can get it working again with a new cartridge.
  5. Does pressing Alt and Down work? Ninja @rogerdnixon beat me to it!
  6. It has successfully landed. https://news.sky.com/story/us-lander-successfully-touches-down-on-moon-for-first-time-in-over-50-years-13078510 @6Foot2 beat me to it!
  7. I think they did for new accounts but if you already had an account you could continue using it without any restrictions (other than the 100 devices.) Now you can only manage existing devices, not add new ones. Which is typical as we've just bought new iPads for every teacher... I've signed up for a moysle trial so I'll see how it compares to Meraki before deciding which, if any, to pay for.
  8. Did anyone receive any communication from Meraki to say they were stopping their free offering?
  9. It could be, and there may be one on the other side too, but the low res photo and lack of cable management is making it hard to see anything with any certainty. Hopefully @chrisgreenwood can take some more photos from other angles to show what's going on more clearly.
  10. It doesn't look very good from the photos, but I have seen worse! If it was me, I would do as @3s-gtech says and take it all out. Unistrut is great when used properly, but from the photo it looks to be resting on the ceiling tiles which is definitely not how it should be done!
  11. Thanks for all the replies. It has been suggested that a zoom audio recorder with built in mics and external mic inputs could be a good solution. Amazon have the H6 on offer at the moment at £189. We already have several XLR mics so this may be something to look into.
  12. Unfortunately, none of our camcorders or the DLSR have a mic input.
  13. We have a permanent PA in the Hall, but no permanent stage setup, which makes recording (both audio and video) more difficult. The video on the current camcorders is sufficient, we already have tripods. I'll see if any of the local universities have anything they would like to part with - good idea @Oaktech
  14. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonable camcorder for recording school productions? Capturing audio seems to be the hardest part - with our existing camcorders (Panasonic HC-W570) the audio is pretty awful and requires a lot of tweaking in the edit to get it anywhere near acceptable. I presume an external video mic would help with this but our camcorders don't have an input for one. I've been given a budget of £750. What are other people using?
  15. Does anyone have any experience of SchoolGrid kitchen management software? https://schoolgrid.co.uk/ Our catering company currently use Fastrak from Biostore (Iris) but have informed us they are moving to SchoolGrid in April and I wanted to get a heads up if there are any issues to look out for.
  16. We run DNA and notify on the same server without any problems. Have you spoken to NetSupport about it? They've always been really helpful when I've needed them.
  17. Good to see Viper taking on Wolf's role of the pantomime villain too.
  18. You've more patience than me - I gave up days ago...
  19. No socks here I'm afraid.
  20. Still no socks in Leeds.
  21. Well that's me finished for the afternoon! I'm only up to 15. So many that I recognise but can't remember the name of (or correct spelling...)
  22. As a child Favourite Doctor: Tom Baker Favourite Villain(s): Cybermen Favourite Companion: K9 Favourite Episode: I don't remember As an adult Favourite Doctor: David Tennant Favourite Villain(s): Weeping Angels Favourite Companion: Martha Jones Favourite Episode: Nightmare in Silver
  23. Have any socks been posted - I haven't seen any sock shaped packages arrive in school. Maybe there's a member of our office team walking round in a nice warm pair of VeryPC socks...
