I have, and I've followed (bits of) that thread, but the consensus (on her and elsewhere) seems to be removing apps from the WIM causes more problems than it solves, and using powershell to remove them during imaging is the 'safer' way. I'm not really fussed if they stay in the image, I just want them gone from the start menu. Because Microsoft seem to have forgotten the point of start menu redirection...

Using some fancy Powershell work I've put a step in SCCM's task sequence to remove most of the crud we don't need. But not all of it, because some of it you just can't. When a user first logs in, they get the proper redirected start menu, just with Settings and Bing. The second time a user logs in, icons for Calculator, Camera, Connect, Microsoft Edge, Photos, Sticky Notes, Voice Recorder and Windows Security show up. There's probably one or two I can still rip out of the image, but mostly I'm just concerned with getting rid of the default icons. I absolutely abhor 'unsorted' start menu icons and it just muddies finding the software you want when you want it. e.g. Voice Recorder, Calculator, Camera, Snip & Sketch, and Photos I'm happy to keep, I just want to nix the default icons so I can move them into a more appropriate subfolder. My Google-fu appears to be failing me today. Are there some reg keys I need to add/nuke or something? (Also some tiles don't work despite being exactly the same as the others.. but one issue at a time)

I don't suppose a Subject Access Request covers how the company obtained the data, does it?

I've given it a fair bit of effort.. Got up to Level 8. Won't be sticking with it. Pros: The graphics, to be fair, are pretty decent. The game still works flawlessly (and probably better, if Po:Go is anything to judge off) if you deny it access to your camera. The three different classes professions you can go have a good rock-paper-scissors kind of balance, and you can swap between them. An interesting mix of events from all corners of Harry Potter lore.. Goblins, trolls, flesh-eating slugs, pixies, unicorns, boggarts, etc. Includes character cameos, even if they are a bit bizarre (one of them is 'Young Ron Weasley' which makes no sense if Harry and Hermione are grown up and part of the Ministry of Magic) It doesn't literally strangle a child and then ask you to pay money. Cons: The wand/spellcasting effects take too long and are all the same just with different flavours colours. Energy not recharging when you're not playing is a huge one for me, even though I can reach a inn from my bedroom. I don't mind the energy system, but to not have it recharge when inactive is a massively anti-consumer tactic. Data miners have uncovered that the success rates of some of the events(? anomalies?) are abysmally small. 0.1%. Whilst I expect these rates will be 'base' rates with various modifiers applied for how well you cast the spell traced the symbol, I doubt they'll increase much. The battle mechanics are dumb, unintuitive and clearly devised to repeatedly interrupt your 'attacks' The multiplayer features are 'tacked on' rather than being a core part of the gameplay. It's a singleplayer game with multiplayer bits shoehorned in to try and force you to use them. I appreciate that not everybody wants a pure multiplayer game like Ingress, but I feel the game was incredibly improved by making the social aspect an integral part. Pokemon Go had a decent middle-ground. Core gameplay loop is boring, and the weak tolerances of symbol tracing get pretty annoying.

Kids went bonkers here when Pokémon Go was released.. I doubt we'll be seeing the same reaction for Harry Potter. Especially not with JK and all her retroactive continuity twitter stuff...

+1 for it, for those where SIMS/AD integration isn't essential. We'll be moving to EduLink soon as part of a large-scale refresh, but it's served us well for over 5 years and if we weren't swapping I'd be happy to continue it.

Are they allowed to start-stop? I was under the impression that the exam CD had to be played 'verbatim' (for lack of a better word) because there are pauses in place to denote time given to answering questions? The only exception being extra time, where the exam boards offer instructions like 'pause for x seconds' once a question has been read out.

I know it doesn't really solve the problem but you can craft a VLC shortcut to play an entire folder. \\Path\to\vlc.exe "\\Path\to\audio\folder" Put the shortcut and the folder somewhere they don't have permission to edit and boom.

This is what we did. They do host the videos themselves, too, but they try and cheap out on bandwidth and offload that to Vimeo. If you give them your external IP they change something their end that displays content from their own servers instead.

Hmm, even with that in place, the start menu doesn't open. I've narrowed it down to 'something in the mandatory profile' that's stopping it.. Start menu opens fine without it, except it adds all the redirected stuff and keeps all the junk I don't want.

Venom was great. You know, if you know nothing about Venom, Eddie Brock, etcetera..

And of course installing RSAT is a pain in the backside now. Thanks Microsoft -_-

Do we know that this is definitely the case? I've ripped the ADMX/ADML off a 1903 install but still don't have Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost.exe in the AppLocker list.
