I mean I can't say I'm massively up-to-date with them, but aren't most QR code reading apps smart enough to realise it's a URL and offer an 'open with browser' option?

Checked out Paradise PD on Netflix. I'm 3 episodes in and... It's alright. Not really anything exceptional, though. I could take it or leave it. Probably won't finish the season if it doesn't pick up a bit more soon.

I don't doubt it, once we exhaust the low hanging fruit it becomes a bit of a beech to come up with new ones. It just needs somebody to seed a new idea for us to move on. But yew never know.

Yeah, that's dumb, but I'm not really fussed about banking apps so NBD for me. They're useful, sure, but not essential. The biggest issue I can think of is if Google implement checks against the hardware. It's all good and well for Google just revoke Huawei's license to use Google Play Services, but if custom ROMs can apply them it makes no difference to a tech-savvy user. But if there's hardware checks in place, that's going to be a big issue. Even things like push notifications operate via Play Services IIRC, and as much as notifications can be generated locally (e.g. text messages) I doubt every app maker out there is going code in a custom framework for handling that just in case it's a Huawei user.. Although they are the 2nd most popular handset provider in the world, so the bigguns like Facebook (et al), Twitter, Snapchat, etc might do that.

I don't really think it's too difficult to figure out. There are better options for all of the issues they list, but the difference is that Jeremy Kyle actively advertises advertised itself as one whereas the alternatives (rehab, counsellors, dna tests etc) don't usually. DNA - Obviously this one is the prospect of concrete answers. Is my kid mine probably being the biggest, but I imagine it also ties in with finding out if a partner has been unfaithful. Lie detector - If you believe in the accuracy of polygraph tests, this probably goes with the idea of validation or closure. Stolen - Well I mean, that's fairly easy. Either your stuff gets returned, or (if you're being a bit naughty), you get free stuff. Access - This one's really a matter for the courts, but it's not easy to afford a lawyer, so you've got a financial incentive here. Feuding families - To be fair this one I don't get, I think should really be kept behind closed doors, but maybe it's the prospect of mediation, or maybe counselling? Break-ups - See above Relationships - See above x2, though to be fair there's also people trying to save a relationship. Bad parents - See above x3 Addictions - An obvious one really: the prospect of help and/or rehab. If you're really trying to kick the habit, I imagine any prospect of assistance looks worth it. Reunions - It's not really easy to find a lost family member, better to bring in people that have experience with it if you can.

Samsung are Korean too IIRC Yarp! I expect there'll already be a fair amount of ROMs going because there always is, but this'll definitely pick up once the next flavour of Android rolls around. Thankfully phones are a lot harder to brick now than they used to be.

I don't think we'll ever see (or need) full blown AI, but there's certainly some merit to pattern-based AI. For example, as mentioned before, if there's movement in an area during X timeframe. We have a stairwell that leads straight outside that pupils aren't supposed to use during school hours, but is there for fire evac. Though the system is 'good enough' because the fire door at the bottom generates an email alert if the door is opened.

I admit I used to be one of the people that watched it, but I'm not going to try and defend the show. Overall it did help some people, especially with DNA testing, counselling, and drug rehabilitation. But overall I think it probably did significantly more harm than good, and with all the new information cropping up about how things were behind the scenes, it's probably for the best.

And whilst I loathe to agree with anything that spews out of Katie Hopkins' mouth, she's not wrong on this.. 4 seasons of Love Island and we've supposedly had two suicides and reports of terrible-to-zero aftercare for participants. I know full well how in the pits you can end up in after a failed relationship, especially if it turns out your perception of it was significantly different to your partners, then add the sudden stardom of being on a national TV show into the mix and I'm inclined to believe those reports. But one unconfirmed suicide from a participant on Jeremy Kyle and the show is axed? Not that I'm suggesting a conspiracy.. Just unequal and/or inconsistent treatment. On the plus side, if you're a fan of a little irony, I suppose you could shout at Jeremy Kyle to get a job like he's become famous for?

Not really. It's just black text with a black highlight. It may be effectively blanked, but it's functionally just altered formatting and easy to reverse. Alternately, if format/layout is important, you could delete and replace the information with 'full block' characters (█), provided you're using a font that supports it, like Arial. No version history, no older versions, no review tools, etc.

That's actually a pretty good deal. I'd be tempted if I were out of contract. Eh, call me old fashioned but I prefer to have my backups done manually, without eating up data allowances That way I control where, how, and when they're stored. I can't imagine how much data cloud backups must eat up for people (especially young'uns) who photograph umpteen things a day. Probably not a big issue where data is bundled per gigabyte, though.
