Hooray, necrobumping my own thread! So hitting the same problem again. Foxit throws a -register UAC prompt if you include the Default PDF Viewer policy because it still wants to do it under the user context. The same solution still works.. Don't set that policy, and Foxit loads fine. BUT! Edge. Edge exists, don't it? And now it wants to be the default PDF viewer. And given all the faff with switching Edge to Chromium and whatnot, I think it's just going to cause more aggro than it's worth to give users a third web browser to use. They already get confused enough between IE and Chrome. So. With Edge Applocker'd, it appears to a normal user like they're not allowed to open .pdf files anymore, because when they try they get the 'This program has been blocked by your administrator' error. Does anybody perchance have the strings to hand to add to the Default Associations Configuration File to force Windows to use Foxit rather than Edge?

Yeah, but she's Korean, and apparently that's okay? I jest, but I do actually have an idea of what makes D.Va acceptable though. (That being said, she does get a lot of hate for being able to 'eat' half the ults in the game! Gravi, Dragons, Pulse Mine, Snowball, etc). I think it's less directly to do with 'lol weeb' and more to do with the styles of the players that pick them. There's very much a (reasonably accurate) trope of players that pick only Genji or only Hanzo, whereas a D.Va player is more likely to flex. So I think Hanzo and Genji get a lot of flak because some players will still pick them when they don't aid the team comp, and will refuse to change when this is pointed out to them. So the 'lol weeb' is more directed at the player, insinuating they care more about being able to play their precious 'weeb' character than they do about the team (emphasis on team) game. But then again I'm not really the type of person to genuinely use 'weeb' as an insult, so, maybe I'm wrong. All that being said, I expect a chunk of it is also the fact that it's reeeeeaaaaally hard to deal with a Genji player that knows what they're doing. Pro Genji's can turn the tide of the match on a dime. But that also makes a lot of people only play Genji because they want to become 'Pro Genji', which again feeds into the anger at people who don't flex.

IIRC the meta used to be Reinhardt; Roadhog; and D.Va/Orisa (Dubbed 'Triple tank'), plus Tracer; Genji; and Ana/Lucio. Ana was usually the one picked because her Biotic Grenade was OP. Then they nerfed Orisa and Ana; and reworked D.Va and the meta fell off a little. Then they released Brigitte and the meta ended up revolving entirely around her. Oh plus there was that GOATS thing, I can't remember what the comp was, but the only way to win against a GOATS team was to out-GOATS them yourself with our own identical GOATS lineup. Yeah, he used to have a mega broken ability but then they fixed that. Hanzo and Genji are one of those very high skill ceiling characters, but everyone hates them because 'lol weebs'.

I bought Overwatch at release and had so much with it.. But then it just got pretty boring and samey. Certain heroes became too unbalanced, an obvious meta developed, they nerfed that so a new obvious meta developed, and I just lost interest. Don't know if they've fixed that now or not. It's good you're enjoying it though!

Can confirm, I've got one of the (slightly older) 144Hz XB1 models and I can't fault it. Today's probably the best day to grab a G-Sync monitor if you're in the market for it. The sales should offset a sizable chunk of the Nvidia tax.

Damnit, yep. Have not made as much progress as initially thought. UWP apps only work once. If the profile is removed, they stop working again as mentioned in other threads. Running out of time. I think I'm definitely going to have to go down the 'give up and find third-party software' route.

I've identified the GPO that's stopping Voice Recorder launching, as if I turn it off (uncheck Link Enabled) the problem doesn't present itself, the user is given the 'Do you want the allow this to access your microphone' option, and then it 'just works'. But there's nothing in the GPO that immediately jumps out at me as possibly causing the issue. Admittedly I'm still faffing around with GPO's but now my user can't open Calculator or Snip & Sketch either.. Camera still opens and stays with the no-camera error as mentioned earlier, though...

Yep, looks like Solitaire is the problem. I'd seen reports that said it only mucked up the apps if you upgraded, not if you did a fresh install. Guess not. Edit: Hang on a minute. No it isn't. I'd commented the wrong line. It's not Solitaire I'd kept in. It's the 'Get Office' app Microsoft.MicrosoftOfficeHub... Edit2: Except now I've reimaged with neither Solitaire or Office Hub and UWP apps still open.. Perhaps it's a combination of both the store and that registry key being set from the very beginning? Requires further investigation. Edit2: Okay, so reimaging with Microsoft.StorePurchaseApp and Microsoft.WindowsStore removed, but that GPO in place, results in Calculator, Camera and Snip & Sketch loading, but Voice Recorder still closes instantly.

If I log in as a local administrator and run, for example, Calculator, it launches fine. No mess, no fuss. If I log in as a domain administrator, same thing happens. Login as my testing users, though, and they won't open. This applies to Calculator, Camera, Snip & Sketch and Voice Recorder (the rest have been ripped out or AppLocker'd) If you select an item, you get the white bar below it and it never opens. Through disabling GPO's etc I've come to the conclusion that the root of the problem is the mandatory profile. I can keep all of my policies in place, and they'll work as long as I tell the user they have no profile location. If I point them back at the .V6, boom, they stop working. I've heard rumours about disabling/removing the store can break apps, so I've reimaged with the store and set Turn off the Store application back to Not Configured I've used https://gpsearch.azurewebsites.net/ to ensure that the registry setting controlled by this policy isn't set. It isn't. Now I'm at the end of my knowledge for debugging profiles. Reeaaaaally hoping someone recognises this and it's an easy fix.

Oh yes, considerably better than Twilight, I just get annoyed at the love triangles. Gale would be such a stronger character if he weren't doing the whole 'woe-is-me', "I can only get your attention when I'm in pain" pity-party. I have no idea how accurately his behaviour reflects the books or not. It's just a criticism I have. Venom was really good if you know absolutely nothing about the comics. I mean I'm not a huge comic buff, I never really read any of them, and I hate the comic book "WELL ACKSHUALLY...!" puritans.. but the movie deviated so wildly that I can kinda forgive them this time. Decent super(anti)hero cinematic experience. Venom movie.

My girlfriend was insistent I watched The Hunger Games, which I'd never bothered to see because of all the hype surrounding it (and having never read the books), but I relented. So thanks to Netflix*, I've now watched The Hunger Games, then Catching Fire, and then Mockingjay Part 1. I've still yet to watch Mockingjay Part 2, but I have to admit I've been enjoying it. It's a tiny bit predictable sometimes, I've managed to call out a few important plot details in advance, but still enjoyable. Except for the annoying Twilight-esque love triangle going on. That can do a running jump. * Bizarrely it's not on UK Netflix. But it is if you go via some of NordVPN's UK servers. Go figure.
