Unfortunately I have no love for Apple gear, nor Bluetooth headphones (because I'd only go and lose one of them, or forget to charge them, or lose the charger...) and I don't really like 'big' headphones that go over-the-ear either. They're either small enough to be uncomfortable because they barely cover your ear and squish your ear cartilage in against your head, or they're too big to carry around because they go completely around the ear (else I'd just take my Audio-Technicas with me everywhere ) I just want to use them with a 'dumb' mp3 player. Yeah, yeah, I know, "Don't you guys have phones?" but I abhor intentionally implementing SPoFs and the MP3 player battery only needs charging every 12-14 days. I just want a pair of wired earbuds that sit behind the tragus and anti-tragus without you having to lodge them into the ear canal, preferably without tinsel cable so they're a bit more durable. But apparently there's no market for that any more I'm a pain, I know

I think I'm just after a pair of earbuds this year as mine recently broke. Annoyingly, more and more of them seem to either be "cheap and crap" or "those bloody annoying ones that actually go into your ear canal and stop you being able to hear anything else.. and then hurt after about half an hour" Though I might pick up a switch game or two. Or a desk. I could do with a new PC desk at home

It's a pick-and-mix unfortunately. Games sold via HTC's VivePort are definitely Vive compatible, obviously, and might support Rifts. Games from the Oculus Store, the answer is 'well, yes, but actually no'. They will work with a Rift, broadly speaking, but you need a lot of fangling about to get them to work. Oculus has no native Vive support. It's owned by facebook. Try not to be surprised when they do facebook things. This has been made easier thanks to ReVive but as it's free and third-party, support for newer games might take a while or the project may eventually end up dead. If buying via Steam or some other unaffiliated storefront, general answer is 'yes, they're cross-compatible' as devs want to maximise their potential profit and playerbase. But since they have different controllers, a game may be suited better to one than the other. Caveat emptor, unfortunately. Do your research and don't just assume.

I'm sure the 1.08% of Steam users with VR will be absolutely ecstatic VR is still very much a gimmick with incredibly niche uses. I do hope the development focus is in the right place, and it's 'A good game' first, with the 'VR' bit coming second. Hell, if it's not also a non-VR title, it'll be pretty inconsequential.

Honestly I've never even heard of reagentc /disable, and certainly haven't utilised it here. I guess that's up to you to image machines and test each one, figure out which is best for you. (if reagentc /disable does produce different results, though, do please let us know!) If I try and execute reagentc /disable as an admin on a standard W10 pupil machine, it returns REAGENTC.EXE: Windows RE is already disabled. I have no idea if this is related to the previous commands mentioned or if it's something else. If it helps, I'll try and explain the outcome of the previous commands a bit: A Windows 10 computer that is improperly shut down will not try to enter the recovery sequence, but will still disk check. Disk check is non-interactive though, so I don't really care. You can still hold Shift and reboot into the recovery environment. The blue screen with 'Continue', 'Troubleshoot' and 'Turn off your PC'. If you click Troubleshoot, there's usually an option there to wipe the PC and reimage Windows, but that option is now not there thanks to the previous commands. The option to change start-up settings is still available, though. I personally left that there to allow Safe Mode booting for troubleshooting.

It's a third-party tool, but I find that it's considerably easier to search for, download and delete files via GAM than with Vault. Blocking file types is all well and good, but often one man's malice is another's syllabus. Blocking .mp3's so kids can't stock their Drive full of pirated music, no-brainer, right? Wrong! Suddenly they can't store recordings of themselves during a Music lesson, or their spoken presentation in French, etc. Vault is still the best tool I've found for e-mails though.

The exact commands I use are: bcdedit /set {default} recoveryenabled No (which disables the recovery environment) and bcdedit /set {default} bootstatuspolicy ignoreallfailures (which stops the computer booting into startup repair when it's improperly shut down) and bcdedit /deletevalue {current} recoverysequence (which removes the reimage option from the shift-reboot menu) Personally, I set each of these three commands to execute as part of the task sequence, each as a Run command line step.

IIRC Language Packs are part of Features on Demand now, but can still be downloaded from Volume Licensing and extracted. e.g. for French: Microsoft-Windows-LanguageFeatures-Basic-fr-fr-Package.cab Microsoft-Windows-LanguageFeatures-Handwriting-fr-fr-Package.cab Microsoft-Windows-LanguageFeatures-OCR-fr-fr-Package.cab Microsoft-Windows-LanguageFeatures-Speech-fr-fr-Package.cab Microsoft-Windows-LanguageFeatures-TextToSpeech-fr-fr-Package.cab There's supposedly a way you can DISM them into the image pre-imaging, but I could never get that to work. Windows would pick up that it 'knew' the language, but couldn't actually do anything with it. Happy to share my documentation on it so far, though, if you think it might help.

Ditto, but after that error I figured I'd need to create a Student account, add it to the iPad, and then restrict account management so it can't be removed, which has achieved the desired result, so at least it's nice to know I can do that. Except now I retrace my steps to try and make the error appear again and.. Nothing? iMotion did throw the error, so I've wiped an iPad and tried to get it to do it again but.. nada? I wonder if it's to do with the issues Apple were having earlier in the week/end of last week? Every time I tried to get to the app store via School Manager it would error..

See, I thought that too, but then the error I got says otherwise. I'll try to reproduce it to get its exact wording, but it was something like the app needed to connect to the app store on first launch, or something like that?

Okay so we need to, shock horror, actually buy an app for once. I bough the licenses but the app would crash as soon as it opened, so I had them refunded. Did some digging it turns out it's because the app needs to connect with the App store to work. In hindsight, a-duh I'm assuming this is to check who's using the license? So I've actually created a pupil account via School Manager and got it on an iPad so it can't be removed. Awesome. But we've had the app refunded since, so I can't check if it'll work. And I don't really wanna p:censored: Apple off buying it to potentially refund it again if it doesn't. So.. Can anybody, off the top of their head, name any free apps that need an iTunes/App Store (are these things separate now..?) account to use?

Currently, in the UK? From what I've heard, only by - er - seafaring methods. Disney+ aren't releasing it in the UK yet. Because reasons..? You could always try to VPN to the US, but I've seen people say that doesn't work unless you also have a US address and payment method on the account too. I was reasonably interested in it, but I can't be fussed with Disney+, so I'm just going to pass on it. I already have Prime Video and Netflix, I'm not signing up for anything else.

Wait.. You can do that? Do you have a guide? One of the main thing that's stopping us blocking USB devices is Photography. If we could somehow whitelist the cameras that'd be great.

Definite +1 for both of these. Jim Browning does upload considerably infrequently, but when he does it's always incredibly informative and usually the months of radio silence are because he's been infiltrating and information gathering. He's the educational side of scams, going into methods, the scripts, and back-hacking them to find out about their call centres etc and pass information off to the police. Kitboga is just hilarious, and is the amusing face of scambaiting, with multiple stereotyped personas like a gun-totin' USA-lovin' Texan, an airheaded teenage ditz, and good ol' Granny Edna. He is still somewhat informative though, just in a bit more of a casual/passive way. He operates a fake bank site so you can see them doing the inline HTML editing, but also has a fake Amazon site where he can 'buy' anything he likes with the extra money he's 'accidentally been sent' like $2,000 watches etc.

EWP is essentially portable. Immediate solution is to just duplicate the directory and have one config set to use Spellcheck and one not to. Then use NTFS permissions to allow and/or deny access to the spellcheck one?

Ditto. I got burned out on the recasting Spiderman so much.. I watched the first ones (with the guy who was a good Peter Parker, but a bad Spiderman) and the first of the 2nd guy (the guy who was a great Spiderman but an awful Peter Parker) and by the time the third guy had rolled around (who supposedly does both roles right) I just couldn't be bothered any more. Spiderverse was a fantastic change of pace, and I do always like the idea of exploring the alternate timelines. Gotta be honest, I only knew about Peter B. Parker, and Spider-Gwen. I had no idea about Miles Morales, Spider-Ham or Penny Parker (Edit: or Spider-Noir), though I'm not really a comic buff, so take that as you will.
