With 3 of us in the house and a lot of brews, and we don't shop at Morrisons anyway, so I doubt this makes a difference to us, but in general, this seems like a bit of a rubbish policy, tbh. From both a food safety standard and an ableist standard. Firstly, not everybody has a (good) sense of smell! What do those folks do? Stop using it once you can chew it? I know they could just buy another brand, but generally when somebody makes a choice like this and makes a big fuss about it it's because they intend for it to be seen as oohh this is a great idea, cut down waste, etc, everybody else follow suit. Secondly, as mentioned, food safety. Nobody wants to be drinking spoiled milk.

Surely that seems a little excessive? I mean I don't really have many thoughts one way or the other about the guy, and I couldn't care less about tennis, and as much as I'm all 100% for everyone who can be being vaccinated.. If their government has exemptions, and he meets those exemptions, and then the courts say he meets those exemptions.. Surely it's a bit vindictive to cancel his visa anyway? (as much as he has been a git about complaining about being in the same hotel as asylum seekers.. or was that someone else?)

I still have a homebrew'd Wii in the cupboard at home, along with a full complement of special edition anniversary wiimotes. Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser, IIRC. I haven't touched it in years, but I can't bring myself to bin it. Edit: My switch is also Gen1 and has the unfixable firmware flaw so I'm probably going to homebrew that at some point, but not until I have a second switch (as I suspect homebrews get the nintendo online services banhammer) I don't pay for whatever they call their flavour of gaming-online-subscription but I assume e-shop etc won't work. Edit2: There's also the ≈£100 I spent refurbishing a Gameboy Advance a few months back. That was a fun little project.

Yeah, but our lot aren't very good at communicating, are they? Positive LFT 99% means it's COVID (I've seen some chatter about certain foods or drinks showing positive, but how true those are, YMMV.. We all know the tall tales told to kids.. Conkers in vinegar, Mew under the truck, etc) The main issue is that LFT's are only around.. 55%, was it? Then again, you'd hope anybody showing symptoms would be testing themselves daily anyway, so with luck, they're only walking around spewing COVID for a day or two at worst. And anybody with stealth-COVID would be unlikely to get a PCR anyway. So they'll still be going about their day-to-day lives as normal (which may or may not include regular LFT's) To be honest, my main concern isn't that people aren't getting a PCR test to confirm they have covid, as said, a positive LFT is pretty solid, it's that PCR tests are how we're tracking COVID spreading, and how we're getting alerted to new flavours popping up. The fewer people getting PCR tests, the less information we know about the state of COVID in the UK. And that's a bad idea, IMO.

Apparently everybody an' their mums is packin' 1 in 5 hospital patients have COVID round 'ere. Apparently, also, hospitals are putting holds on non-urgent surgeries due to shortages from their staff isolating. And the government is going to relax the testing/isolating rules. Apparently, if you have a positive LFT but don't show symptoms, you don't get a PCR test any more, or so they're about to announce But nothing about if you do show symptoms? So essentially if you're full of the symptoms, stay off, but if you've got stealth-covid, you're not allowed to confirm it properly? (All this from BBC radio this morning) So instead of, y'know, fixing the actual problem of not having enough tests to go around, we're just gonna decide people don't need them any more?

It's fine, we've all had times where we've needed to bring a service in-house. I'm sure we can do the same to eduhobnobs.

Absolutely this Over the summer we bought a bunch of refurbs to replace our decrepit devices (i3 3xxx, 4GB DDR3) machines. The best we could get for our budget was i5 6xxxx devices that aren't 11 compatible. It turns out that the Celeron processors in the laptops the DfE gave us are compatible, but then again, the laptops the DfE gave us are barely fit to prop open a window, let alone support newer builds of Windows. My impressions of Win11 are actually generally positive, outside of the stupid tiles replacement needing InTune to modify at all (there's bound to be a workaround though) and I have no objections in principle to migrating, it's just not possible right now, I don't have the money to make it possible, and I really don't want to mix environments because that will send our less technically-capable users completely west. That being said, our Chromebook usage has been increasing without any complaints. Honestly, at this point, if it weren't for SIMS, I reckon we could run this school entirely on G Suite. In principle, of course, not in practice. There'd be far too much user re-training needed. Far too many staff are married to MSOffice here and would have an aneurysm trying to figure out anything else. A good handful of them still make files in MSOffice, upload them to Drive/Classroom, and then the kids download them to their own user area and open them locally

From what I've heard, the start menu primary view (I have no idea what it's officially called.. The default bit, before you click All apps >) is only customisable if you're using InTune The actual start menu redirection works fine, and it appears that despite previous info we've seen floating around, MS does allow folders now. At least certainly there were folders in my test redirected start menu, and there are on my work's PC (local) start menu.

Essentially, I'm trying to create a rule that flags any email with obfuscation characters. You know the ones. The We have naughty videos of you now pay us bitcoin plz ones where they replace random letters with șìɱίḽȃṛ ƚȯοḳίňģ οηѐṡ to bypass word filters. So my regex is, essentially*, (?i)[ậḅĉḏęḟǵĥіʝḳḷɱրợῥգŕşեữѵŵϰўʑ] and I'm removing characters as-and-when that have legitimate use (used commonly in French, for example ô or ç) when they get flagged. This'll never be perfect, but it'll be better than nothing I guess? Weirdly, though, I'm getting emails trip the filter that don't match the rule. They get redirected to the right inbox, they get the [Obfuscation] tag applied to the header.. But they don't match? Regex101 says they don't match. Google's own policy tester says they don't match (both copying-and-pasting the email as-is, and dumping the entire raw contents) Has anybody ever encountered this before? This is happening with quite a few services, and I just can't figure out why. Only thing I can think of is maybe there are certain characters that PCRE just really doesn't like? I can't dump the raw email(s) here because of EduGeek's 15k character limit * A looot of characters have been removed to make it a bit more palatable, but you get the picture.

I can't say I ever watched the Angry Birds movie, but I do agree about Detective Pikachu. It's a rather entertaining movie, provided you don't scrutinise the plot in any way, shape or form. A good ol 'disengage brain' movie, as I like to call them (although most disengage brain movies tend to be action movies...)

That description is just about bizarre enough that I might have to give it a look Watched Sonic the Hedgehog on Netflix over the weekend. It was... Alright? I mean, don't expect it to be winning any oscars any time soon, but it was passably entertaining enough. Jim Carrey's performance as Dr. Robotnik was about as eye-rollingly cringey as you expect it to be, based off the previews, but at the end of the day it's still just Jim Carrey being.. Well..
