1. Does that remove it from the lock screen, too? Edit: Actually scratch that, if you push the need dc to unlock GPO you're covered.
2. Brave of you to network the machines! We run it locally here. No chance I'm turning wireless back on, not since the one kid we found with a personal hotspot active on their phone!

Picked up Tunic last week. Lovely little isometric metroidvania with some soulslike mechanics (estus, dodge roll the roly poly, etc), but about half of the typical ability gates are actually just knowledge gates, where you need to know about a certain mechanic and how it interacts with other things, so lots of speedrun potential. It's an odd little premise, you're literally collecting the video game manual for the very game you're playing (except most of it is written in foreign) and you've got to work out a lot of the hints from the book itself, by looking at the images, or the little doodled-in hints, or recognising characters from one place to another to infer relationship, etc. Also lots of optional secrets to find, if that's your jam. Would recommend.

I played the heck out of TA:Kingdoms back in the day! Zhon ftw!
5. Honestly I haven't really done anything, but then again I'm lucky to share a house with other working adults so we haven't exactly had to tighten our belts. Netflix is looking at getting the chop, but that's got nothing to do with the cost of living and more to do with the price increases and potential ads
6. Nah this one is the BIOS of the laptop that's the issue. It just won't recognise when it has a network adapter attached. Apparently some BIOS' will just flat out not recognise certain chipsets, because, reasons? Someone put me on to one they have that works with them a while ago but I haven't bought one yet.
7. I wonder what that will mean to proprietary fast-charging methods? I suspect PowerQi will win out over things like Qualcomm's 27W Quick Charge and OnePlus' 20W Dash/50W Warp Charge (especially when you consider that allegedly 488 manufacturers work with the standard). Then again those technologies are practically guaranteed to end up redundant at some point, since USB-C is rated for up to 100 watts.
8. I remember from years ago about putting super glue on top of PVA to produce a gross flesh-growth-looking effect which I'd probably do if I went back to playing 'nids.
9. Huh, if you'd have said "glittery blue carapace" I'd not be for it, but on those models, it looks really nice! Goes well with the rest of the colour scheme, and I love the gross, growth-looking bases. Good job! *shamefully looks at box of unpainted minatures*
10. I assume that's actually a "How to find and access an e-book using our platform" tutorial but.. yes, someone ought to have rephrased that sentence..
11. To be fair, I don't think it's an awful idea. Many people with hearing difficulties have lamented that everybody wearing facemasks has massively impacted their ability to communicate with others effectively. Muffled voices, inability to lip read, etc. So a clear mask and a speaker is actually not all that terrible an idea. ... but admittedly it's Razer, and they absolutely must make it ostentatious and gaudy because, reasons.
12. I mean, if Razer can have Project Hazel...
13. Oh, no, I rolled nothing lower than a 14, and 2 18's, on Ed's stats! His stat block is nuts. But I'm playing it that he just doesn't speak Common very well because he's nomadic. I'm waiting for the day the party encounters a goblin, because he also speaks goblin, and I'll have him riff off big, long, fluent sentences to confuse everybody Gonna play it that he spent years as a merc-for-hire protecting a caravan of goblins who forged/repaired weapons and armour.
14. Ironically, since we're discussing this in a 40k thread, my current character is a Wild Magic Barbarian Orc. Speaks in only two-to-three syllable sentences (e.g. he used Magic Awareness but couldn't say the word "Transmutation" so just yelled "CHANGE!" and pointed), and when he gets angry, weird stuff happens. ... then I just realised I'd essentially made a 40K Ork. So he's called Ed. Ed Krumpa. 'cuz 'e krumpz 'eads.
15. The thing that confuses me, though, is that this is in-domain activity. We don't have RADIUS, so phones shouldn't be authenticating as a user. Which sucks, and I'd like to change that, but A) money and B) since nobody's device will pass traffic without the filter's SSL inspection certificate, and you can't get that without me personally putting it on your device, only staff get on the wifi (though they're filtered as pupils, since it's unauthenticated traffic) A mail app wouldn't be talking to our DC's, and even then, our mail is with Google, so it can't even be any Azure AD shenanigans..
16. Maui-Youre-Welcome.gif Fingers crossed whoever won came down with a bad case of the hit-by-a-buszies and doesn't get back to them so it goes to a 2nd draw (Obvious joke, enjoy your new rig, whoever the lucky winner is!)
17. I wish, unfortunately they dropped on their Twitter the other day that they'd emailed the winner. Y'all lost out. And so did I
18. Hmm.. Just revisited this one, MECM still isn't seeing server updates. I had hoped it was that simple a solution and I'd missed nothing else but nope, something appears to still be a bit screwy™ Sync is set to every 7 days so it should have definitely seen them by now..
19. Hmm, yep. Finally got around to doing a test lockout: A user account was locked out. Subject: Security ID: SYSTEM Account Name: DomainController$ Account Domain: Domain Logon ID: 0x3E7 Account That Was Locked Out: Security ID: Domain\User Account Name: User Additional Information: Caller Computer Name: Device Name So I'm inclined to agree with the post linked previously where they were saying \\WORKSTATION was a non-domain device like a phone/etc.
20. Duly noted! I've vaguely-kinda-sorta kept an eye on 3D printers, the liquid resin ones do seem to be much better - and coming down in price, to boot. But I just wouldn't get enough use out of it at current. Maybe if I got back in to 40K and were playing D&D in person..
21. Huh, neat. I haven't ever seen any HF models 'in the flesh resin' so had reservations about using them, but I might have to give them a second look..
22. classroom_teachers@ is used to define whether a user is a teacher or a pupil in Google Classroom. You can actually manually add members now, and it supports nested groups, so if you have an all-staff mailing list, you can add that the the group and boom, all your staff are automatically teachers. If you define groups in AD, then you can sync them up to google via LDAP query the same as you do users, as long as that group has an email address in AD (so you just use (objectCategory=group) as your search query) You can name your OU's anything you feel like, the name doesn't matter. For example, we have 20XX Intake for all our our year groups. The way we do it is to have users synchronised (User Accounts tab - (&(sAMAccountType=805306368)(mail=*)(!(userAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2))) query), and then we map where they should go on the Org Units tab. So OU=2016 Intake,OU=Pupils,OU=$School Users,DC=$domain,DC=local maps to Pupils/Intake 2016, OU=Staff,OU=$School Users,DC=$domain,DC=local to Staff, OU=Student Teachers,OU=Staff,OU=$School Users,DC=$domain,DC=local to Staff/Student Teachers, etcetera Just be careful that you don't leave any OU's unaccounted for, or they'll end up getting dumped in the root domain.gtld OU.
23. Does the school have Twitter accounts? The amount of NSFW artists and onlyfans-promoters on Twitter, it's the same deal. There should definitely be policies in place for how any school social media accounts are used, though. Preferably some kind of vetting and logging process. As for promoting, we don't actively promote any. That's not our place. Kids will use what they want to use (and will probably not use whatever we tell them to because now it's lame, 'How do you do, fellow kids?' etc), we just have to keep up. For a while we did have advice posters around the building on how to block/make your account private/etc on social apps, facebook, snapchat, tiktok, etc. Personally I don't think any kids should be using any social media. Facebook is full of right-wing ravings, disinformation and conspiracy nuts; instagram takes your body confidence through the wringer with all its airbrushed models and pro-eating disorder content; twitter, tiktok, and discord allow 18+ content; tumblr - like instagram - doesn't have the porn any more but last I knew of also had a lot of pro-eating disorder content; and snapchat for obvious reasons. However I do want to add an obvious caveat that I think they shouldn't use them in their current forms. A lot of these apps could be made so much safer for children if their owners just put the work in. But they don't. And unless you're particularly savvy enough to go spelunking through the settings (and lots of settings, with some of them..) the default settings are wildly unsafe a lot of the time. Plus the obvious one that kids often don't understand the safety concerns that might make you or I change certain settings. However, we can't pretend they don't have any benefits. Obvious example being there's a lot of LGBT+-positive stuff - especially on Tumblr and Instagram.
