On the MVLS site though the entitlement number for HUP is the same as the paid for employee count, they may be covered free for use in the school but I don't think that SA applies to them.

Either they are covered under the EES agreement and are paid for by the school or they are not. The entitlement is only for enrolled staff so you could add them to the agreement so that they can access HUP.

eep, this is 2003, had not seen that. Depending on the drivers you may even need to integrate them into the install media to get it to pick them up. Do you have/can you get access to the 'smartstart' (that's what HP calls it) cd media which prestages stuff like drivers and partitions beforehand, it would probably be with the original CD/DVD tools that came with the CD. I'm going to assume that it is the optional extra PERC RAID card as opposed to the on the motherboard SATA ports. Have you gone into the RAID BIOS or RAID configuration and set up the drives as a mirror or stripe. Until you do this the RAID card may not offer them as avalible storage to the OS.

How good are your switches, your core may be able to manage NAT, if not ISA/TMG also gives you lots of features including caching which can be handy.

Yea, it could work but would probably be loud and more dangerous than a standard umbrella as the air pressure required to completely deflect the rain would be rather high. It would also need a rather decent power source, unless the whole structure was a LiPo battery it wold not last long.

I'm sure we all have those kinds of days/weeks. I have had those where stuff like hardware keeps breaking or random little/big issues are piling up. It all seems to happen at once to like a bad batch of PSUs going thanks to a large spike and the net being unstable at the same time thanks to provider glitches along with bad updates messing all over the place (thanks Adobe). Glaze over and keep hacking at it and you'll get through. It does make you reassess things though and keeps you focused on learning new things so you can escape in future if nessisary.

Those look good, the 19h life sounds decent too and the build quality looks better than the Acer. Still waiting on these (x86) with 3G/4G data reception, have not seen any out yet with this feature. Like that it has a proper stylus to.

Installing it usually leaves it at least partially broken, depending on the hardware. You could also install it on Hyper-V, some (openBSD - I know not really Linux) will happily crash every hour on the hour for fun.

Hows the free memory on the system if it is a 2008 /R2 machine, depending on the setup it chucks stuff into memory before throwing it anywhere and this process can bind up. Also do you have an realtime AV scanning, it could be that process holding things up.
