Abandon ware? Is it like SharePoint designer where they don't really care anymore, hell even ISA can still work as a decent solution. TMG should be good for another while yet as long as they don't get pissy about its continued use. Massive shame about it going though I know of no other product that handles the same scope of operation so easily and elegantly.

Wmi will give you this information, even for a remote station, the wmi scriptomatic tool from MS can help you make a script.

At which point why not just use a device designed for it, why the drive for everything to be one device, universal hammers are always horrible.

IP lease on the clients? What software do they use, onsite filtering, routers etc. For the internet stuff. Depending on the other faults they may help provide more clues to the cause.

Just did an HTC Mozart, another three update marathon but runs really well. Forcing it seemed trickier as the time window seemed smaller, I had to cancel out a few times then come back in, run a check, get told it was not there then do the recheck, cable pull etc. Proved again that not putting it in flight mode stops it.

Not exactly immersive in comparison, I defy a tablet to be more compelling than my 55" TV and surround system, the whole feedback thing from an ergonomic controller with analogue buttons is also much nicer than jabbing relentlessly as a Paine of glass.

Proving once again that Intel makes some shocking mistakes with some of its hardware (especially network cards) it seems that some of their network cards are vulnerable to being locked up in hardware by a single packet. This then requires a power reset to bring it back to life. It seems the original case was discovered by someone running an Asterisk box. I hooked it up, setting > update in zune, let it get to the bit that said it was up to date Clicked name phone, clicked update then left it for about 2.5 seconds then pulled the Ethernet cable. This seemed to work if timed right, it would then say an update was avalible at which point you plug the internet back in and let it update. The big thing was to have flight mode on otherwise it will fall back to WiFi or cell and say your up to date. If all else fails you could try this : http://windowsphonehacker.com/articles/want_windows_phone_7.8_now_try_this_easy_tool-01-31-13 Which only installs the cabs and no new firmware but should work even if your manufacturer is being a tool. HTC seemed to be quite onto it though in comparison to the three forced updates I had to do for LG, the Mozart is apparently 7.8 as is the trophy so yours should be on the list. Boo, ddr 3 instead of 5 and they can get bent if it requires an always on internet connection. My internet connection is flakier than snow ( thanks orcon.co.nz for your rubbish product ). Such a requirement would kill gaming for me entirely. Games here are already 140-150 $, they apparently looking at making them more expensive next round. Given the inclusion of limited maps and pushed season passes like Black Ops 2 and in game purchasing like Deadspace 3 they can get well bent if they expect me to pay more than half the price of a console for a single decent game. Dirty profiteering canabalistic.....

Just run through the upgrade on an LG Optimus 7Q, massive hassle as you have to do it three times to get to 7.8 but it works fine. Glad to finally have the update. Still no way to manually set the MMS APN like in 8 after the lousy LG app broke my MMS but the new start screen is good, the phone even seems a little quicker although it did eat another 750MB of available space. Still if I ever bother to log into my dev account I'm sure I can easily fix the MMS for the twice a year I actually use it Thanks to the op for pointing out it was avalible or I probably would have languished on 7.5 for another month before even hearing about it as telecom providers here are the slackest they can be without the government kicking them out. Epic, updating my LG 7Q now, refused to go to 8 till they released 7.8 to make sure they were serious about the platform, surprised the news got past me, damn groupthinky Slashdot, perhaps you should post a thread on the availability and method here, there are a few of us with WP7.5

They won't even try and spend the whole time wineing about it instead, give them a kick and they'll probably get it fine, its just deploying enough kick with the new os
