There is an option in security zone settings at the end that only allows credential pass through in the local intranet zone, you could mess with this for all zones but centrally adding to the intranet zone is better and easier

Add it to the local intranet sites zone then switch it back on perhaps, probably a security levels thing.

To be fair that is down to vbulitins poor excuse for an editor that is unstable and unpredictable under ever browser I have tried, chrome, ie, Firefox even opera.

More batteries, more pain. Get dockable ones like the envy x2 , ativ or Acer w510 which all charge at the same time and have extra batteries to extend runtime in the keyboards, 14 - 16h of use is decent. The iPad users are beyond help and will take ten times as long to do something just so as not to admit their iPad is a shiny toy for the most part intended almost solely for consumption.

Looks like it's choking due to integrated auth being turned off in the browser, enable it manually on one to test then use gpo or gpp to push the preference globally.

Windows media player, not a huge featureset but low resource usage and set and forget monitoring of folders for media.

The windows phone stuff is really smooth and speedy UI wise and it is about getting stuff done with a minimum of fuss. If you don't want to spend the whole day tinkering with it to get it just right the WP stuff is great as it can collate everything, emails from multiple accounts, IM, contacts, calendars, social media stuff all into a nice quick easy feed. The apps are no where near as riddled with ads as Droid and if you ever want rdp I have found no phone app on any platform that comes close to ConectMe. No EG app yet but ZH is working on it and that will be native and designed specifically. I find the platform is just a whole bunch more focused at getting stuff done rather than trying to be a universal hammer. As above it is a bit of a change and that is because it is different, it was designed from the ground up to get phone stuff done. Of course then then chucked it on W8 desktops but touch is what it is designed for and does well.

I have a cheap - actually more expensive than that (nz pricing) - Chinese one that works once then refuses to even solar charge till you plug it in and charge it from the power point, kind of defeats the point. It drains while not charging a phone too. Don't get your hopes too high.

Get the keyboards, I get the same rubbish from new iPad users all the time about how the screen kb is all you need etc. A month or so later they are all sporting Bluetooth keyboards if they have to enter more than a couple of sentences a day. Agreed about the 500s but look at the Samsung ativ and hp envy x2, miles better build quality.

If it's for a slate 8 owns 7 every day of the week and two more I have made up just for this example. For demoing and experimenting it is fine but just not manageable however testing it all out now means you aren't 5 years behind when they do ship something you want to use like xp to 7 migrations now where its a big jump not a gentle stroll.

I thought it was rebranded 3Com not rebranded d-link. You could try turning off a bunch of debugging if there is an option and turning on a bunch of logging, there was a hack to turn on the cli I think that may give you options.

Works fine for us, compatibility mode. It can take a while for those to show up on the compatibility list. I think they stay broken till they show up on the MS compatibility list which does not seem to take to long now.

I have not been back to check whether they have got around to our upgrade or not as we were still in testing and not deployed, have not tried the newest incarnation which may be better, hopefully.

I guess they have to make up for their 'crush' spinning out a decade or so of pure Apple love, give them another 8-9 years of Apple bashing to level the playing field and they can start reporting facts again in 2022 or so.

Have you dealt with the CCTV stuff, would you be willing to post up how you found it as I am looking into a bunch of it for home.

That and I'll bet that you aren't paying Pearson-Heinemann an exorbinent yearly fee not to listen to you. Our MIS systems here are similar, huge bill for support which never comes or is that useless you may as well not have bothered. Ours is still using an Access DB. They did eventually release an MSI for their system files but it needed to be installed remotely on a certain patch level of XP not to drop out with an error so you still need to do it manually anyway. From what I have heard on here is very much the same, they demand money for support and development then they only do what they want to anyway. You just end up paying people to be mean to you which is generally not pleasant to the majority of the bell curve.

Have you considered hiring a Network Manager or looking internally at your NM. They have a vested interest in making the system work well as they have to deal with it every day and will generally want to do the best with the money available. Going to an external provider may end up costing a lot more in the end as their main goal is usually separating the school from as much money as they can without a fraud complaint being laid against them.

I looked at this kind of thing on the previous iteration and you really need to build it all yourself, there are some pay for templates, a lot of which do not work with 365 and their baseline education templates which have some nice features but are really just a patch indicating that it can be made to work. The new system may be different but I found the previous iteration to be just a free version of the corporate software with no 'education' aspect or thought put in. I did get a little way through making some templates that would do things like this but then time intervened and I needed to do my usual work rather than attempting to build an education focused bit for Office365. I do really hope that this can be addressed and that perhaps a project can be formed to make it a more useful tool in these settings. One that MS could even integrate and offer to schools, like, I hate to say it, GAPS.
