SSO is way better for users especially if you have Office 365 which will then sign on transparently

Just a batch file put in group policy as a startup script that way it runs as system level so needs no extra privilages. I run it at startup because otherwise some of the profiles would not be deleted as they would still be locked in the file system.

If you just want to see whats in the drive just plug it in to another Windows 7 computer, it will recognise it as a bitlocker drive at which point you enter your recovery key and have access.

Seamlessly may be tricky but you can map a folder to a one drive pro account so you may be able to script it on the server to slowly move each users stuff to their accounts, may be able to do with admin credentials but may need their 365 passwords to make it work

They are in separate reg keys and gpo settings if using Vista or above so yes you can redirect locally but any transfer happens without user feedback at logon so could cause chaos if they are on wifi and have stacks of stuff with the hour plus logon with no progress, it won't fail gracefully when they force restart either. A script may be the best bet to do the transfer out of the folders

Third AppleID lucky, turns out you need to try and purchase something in the US app store to register the account properly for use with the VPP. I'd like to thank Apple's VPP team for never getting back to me , the rest of their support people were really helpful but you can tell they are taking education seriously when even their internal teams can't get a hold of the Education VPP team. Anyone have a method of actually contacting them for the next catastrophy?

Have been trying for almost a month now to get Apple support to allow us to actually use the VPP, have created manager and facilitator accounts, but the facilitator account just loops back to the logon to buy page when you try to purchase anything. Have tried emailing with no response even with their insanely long five working day window and have been through countless polite but unable to help support teams. How do you actually get in touch with these people so that you can spend money with them. I have a stack of their product just lying about because their own processes don't work and they seem unable to help at all. Just seemingly proving that Apple gear was a waste of $20k. Its also charming that once you use a small proportion of an iTunes card, like a $100 one the rest is then non-transferable. I do hope that anyone can prove me wrong. At this point I would settle for an actual explanatory error message from their stark white and completely non-functional site.

I just removed the local profiles and if it reoccoured I killed the server copy and just had it rebuild. We got around a lot of it by running delprof2.exe in a machine startup script to clear out the local copies of profiles on each startup which largely cured the problem.

Love my Nokia 920, as said before none of the Windows Phones are really slow or crashy because they have a tight reign on the hardware minimum level and software. As such the 1520 should be really nice, apps wise unless you are 'really' into the latest candy crush button mashers you don't miss out on much of the important stuff.

To use @school... you need to validate the domain in 365 and if you want it to get external email you'd need to change your domain mx records diverting all email to 365 rather than your mail server. You'd need to add the upn suffix if it is not your AD domain also.
