Ok, so far: A reboot of my Controller didnt work. Netbooks can happily connect to the other Open Auth connections. DHCP is fine. Now...at this point I hold my hands up and say I'm still new to the certificate side of things. I guess they've always been part of the process when things were set up by others. Funnily enough, there are certificates that expired on Sunday, the day before this all kicked off. They're for my 2008 server. Under the Intermidate Certification Autorities folder there are two identical looking certs sat in the Cert Revocation list.....this im guessing is an issue? I feel so ill, i'm only here and not in bed because i want these netbooks working...

I do love my Ruckus wireless and has always worked beautifully so i just let it be. The other day it was brought to my attention that our Netbooks aren't connecting. Now i quite often get the "no logon servers available blah blah" error but this time it's all of them, not just one or two. They all authenticate via certificate deployed via GPO, sat on their own WLAN. Looking in the logs, the netbook i was testing has the entries: 2013/10/02 14:13:40 High User fails authentication too many times in a row when joining WLAN[HPS Wireless] at AP[AP13]. User is temporarily blocked from the system for [30 seconds]. 2013/10/02 14:13:06 Low host/NETBOOK-061.harborne.pri User[host/NETBOOK-061.harborne.pri] disconnects from WLAN[HPS Wireless] at AP[AP13] 2013/10/02 14:12:48 Low host/NETBOOK-061.harborne.pri User[host/NETBOOK-061.harborne.pri] disconnects from WLAN[HPS Wireless] at AP[AP13] One thing i have noticed is that its Uptime is *cough*480d 20h 27m*cough* (where the hell does the time go!?!) so a reboot might not be a bad idea. Any other suggests of what to have a look at?

Sorry if this has been said....but why didnt they do a staggered release?

Thanks guys, when shortly after i posted this i had a bit of a drama so havent got back till now. Nope. Couple of gig etc. I think they appreciate the fact that we shouldnt be lumping all these roles onto one server but for the course they're just gonna let it happen.

Hey guys, so...i've somehow made it into the final year of my FD in IT and Support. When i saw the names of the modules i got really excited as i've learnt that networking isn't my thing at all and the first 2 years really focused on it. This year was about setting up servers and administering them. 'Woo hoo!' I thought as i've certainly administered servers (all self taught) but never set one up from scratch so thought some guidance would be great. Unfortunately, being year 3, it is pretty much an 'over to you' type affair, so i'm on my own. This module is all about creating a training type manual for a team of IT Technicians. So first off, i need to get a 2008 server up and running. (Can i point out, when i say server, its a not exactly server hardware, just a bog standard PC box) I need to install AD, DHCP, DNS and Exchange having them chugging along happily and demonstrate that *gulp*. So is there a best practise for setting up a server? Is there an order to installing roles etc? Everything needs rationale too.. I've had a google, but none seem to be 'THIS is how it should be done'. any help, links to good documents would be very much gratefully recieved.

It amuses me that people are discussing the prize they think VeryPC should be giving away. I think a PS4 is an amazing prize. If you win it and don't want it, sell it perhaps? Or just don't enter....

I hear ya. Good to know... Feel like anyone that owns an iPhone is being judged the same. I'd like to think i know what i'm doing. Don't get me wrong as a lot of you know, i am tempted by the shiny shiny (and i personally don't think its that nice looking a device), don't I buy the thing cus it's got Apple written all over it. Last Android phone i owned was a HTC Fire, so like mid-low range hardware which didn't show me the best of what it can do, so i can't comment on it. I wont be dumping my iPhone 5 to get a newer one. When my contract ends i see what i fancy and choose then. Also...where's the purple?!

Yep, i've got an iPhone 5...had an iPhone 4. I own an iPad Mini and an iPod Touch...so i must be a complete loser...

Have to say, i find these threads kinda insulting and upsetting.... I get little jokey digs now and then, fine i can deal with that and laugh it off. This feels almost personal.... I don't appreciate being called a moron cus i have an iPhone. I don't own it for bragging rights... I pay a monthly contract, it does what i want it to so i'm happy. I cant believe that there is almost a stigma for having a certain brand of phone....

Hi all, The demand from the staff to enable them some sort of remote access is growing. HAP+ has been bobbing along quite happily now it seems. It's a little out of my comfort zone so have been sat watching it for a while. So, can you guys give me some success stories. I have no money (i've got MS licensing) so what kind of hardware can i run this on? Is there a Getting Started guide on here that i've missed? Apologies if i have. Thanks
