  4. I'm not an admin - just letting you know before you get edited or notified by someone who is
  5. Yes, apparently the anagram-of-carp word isn't allowed.
  6. You said the C word!
  7. That's fine; your original post just could have been better-worded to explain that you've been asked to find out what other schools use as their main desktop OS of choice in their establishment. @witch: I don't know about you, but I care about the reasons behind opinion polls, especially new members and ones that give no indication why it's being asked. I am quite aware nobody is making me answer. Re: underwear poll, Just because lots of people answered doesn't mean we all have to.
  8. @Hightower I think it's a matter of principal. At least for me it is, anyway. A relatively-unknown member posts a vaguely-worded poll which could mean anything (quote: "A bit of a wishy-washy poll i know!"), and means different things to different people. It doesn't say why he's collecting the data or for what purposes.
  9. @NetmanDH In that case I'll wait to add my answer to the poll

  11. I never visit the Wikipedia homepage but I like the new design.

    Pirate key gens!

There's a large online community for 8bit music - 8bitpeoples. One of my favourite 8bit tracks is Bamboo Cactus, freely available from here.

Are you looking for the code or the actual programs? I remember once having assembler source code to a WinZip keygen but that didn't have the fancy graphics & sounds. Some modern anti-virus programs now detect keygens and delete the file before you get chance to even download it. Here's the asm source code to a keygen for a program. Also: teraphy
  14. Are all IP addresses and client reservations correct? E.g. Is 10.172.4.1 the server that is hosting the PXE files? Do the MAC addresses match up?
  15. I'm not sure if it's just a typo on the Wiki page, but the PXE filename on the Windows instructions isn't prefixed with a forward-slash, like the other one is: filename "/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.0"; https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/LTSP-Cluster Try changing option 67 to /ltsp/i386/pxelinux.0 I take it the workstations are on the same physical network segment as your Windows server?
  16. Have you installed the openssh-server package?
  17. One would have thought a national mobile phone network operator would have some form of resilience against that sort of failure.

  21. Was just going to say - AA is good but I do prefer Nexuiz
  22. I can help by testing! I have a Google Nexus One running Android. Default browser + Opera.
  23. This is rubbish. I would take j17sparky's advice. Use a portable USB hard disk as the primary backup destination, then script a copy of the files from USB -> NAS once done.
  24. Oh well. Totally naked mud wrestling it is then. *shudder at the thought*
  25. I'd have thought a fluorescent mankini would be more entertaining.
