  1. Works OK for me - Google Nexus One in the standard browser, Opera and Dolphin.
  2. No problem
  3. RabbieBurns: You can do this in index.php - have a look here: https://gist.github.com/779363
  4. My PrintMaster project allows you to keep track of all (network) printers, including a sortable table column for IP addresses - quick and easy to find holes or the last available address
  5. There are a number of free web control panels: RavenCore ISPConfig - OpenSource ISP management and Hosting Control Panel SysCP - The Open-Source System Control Panel GNUPanel – The GNU web hosting control panel start Baifox GPL
  6. Chrome is now MSIable - Chrome browser for business ? Google Apps
  7. No, but sticking with them because their solutions works for an individual school, is a good idea
  8. Considering Liberum is written in ASP, which is a Microsoft language only supported on IIS, I wouldn't have thought that'd be possible. There are 'compatibility' layers available but are not 100% perfect - Apache::ASP is one, but is unlikely to be available for you to use on the server and would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
  9. That looks like he was cleared on the H&S issue (whichever one that was).
  10. As I said before, please try it with $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST']. Don't replace that with whatever host or IP you want - just leave that in. It is a PHP variable which should work whether you access it via internal IP, external IP, or hostname. unset($CFG); $CFG->dbtype = 'mysql'; $CFG->dbhost = 'localhost'; $CFG->dbname = 'moodle'; $CFG->dbuser = 'root'; $CFG->dbpass = '**********'; $CFG->dbpersist = false; $CFG->prefix = 'mdl_'; //$CFG->wwwroot = 'http://212.26.x.xx/moodle'; $CFG->wwwroot = 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . '/moodle'; $CFG->dirroot = 'C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/moodle'; $CFG->dataroot = 'C:/Inetpub/moodledata'; $CFG->admin = 'admin'; $CFG->directorypermissions = 00777; // try 02777 on a server in Safe Mode $CFG->passwordsaltmain = '>+@ #0CMXq?>_Pz@e^+].H],'; require_once("$CFG->dirroot/lib/setup.php"); // MAKE SURE WHEN YOU EDIT THIS FILE THAT THERE ARE NO SPACES, BLANK LINES, // RETURNS, OR ANYTHING ELSE AFTER THE TWO CHARACTERS ON THE NEXT LINE. ?>
  11. Any good? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows/63204-simple-email-client.html
  12. What stupid course requirements. Throw it back at them and ask how are students supposed to show that they are capable of sending email without access to a proper, working email system?
  13. UNDERCITY on Vimeo Interesting video if you like this sort of thing.
  14. karan_jhr: The best and preferred way of doing things is via the hostname. Are all your users really accessing it externally just via the IP address? This is because there is no DNS entry for apps.{URL} pointing to the 212.*.*.* address on the internet DNS system. If you can't get that working, you can change it like this: $CFG->wwwroot = 'http://' . $_SERVER["HTTP_HOST"] . '/moodle';
  15. Don't forget the kitchen sink
  16. Can this be narrated in the voice of the Big Brother voiceover guy for added effect?
  17. OK. You have it set correctly in the config file, but CSS/images still aren't loading. It's because I can't resolve your hostname via DNS. You can check for yourself here: http://www.kloth.net/services/nslookup.php
  18. Sticking with RM because their website is pretty? There's a dumb idea
  19. karan_jhr: Don't configure the Moodle setting (wwwroot) to the IP address - this will only work for internet or internal - not both. But do configure it for the hostname (e.g. http://www.myschool.com/moodle). If you've followed the instructions and advice above, everything should then work. On your LAN, your DNS server should be configured for www.myschool.com to resolve to 10.14.*.*. So when your LAN clients try to access Moodle, your internal DNS server will respond with 10.14.*.* and it will be fine. On the Internet, people will receive 212.*.*.* as the address, and it will be fine.
  20. Goo-old rings?
  21. Yes that's the new logo. And yes they haven't updated the favicon yet
  22. This isn't just for BETT - it's part of a larger re-branding exercise following their purchase of educational non-IT companies, e.g. furniture (sites listed under 'RM Education UK websites' in the site footer). They are now an education services provider, rather than just IT.
  23. You're on to a winner with that one
  24. SIGNUM from IKEA, only £7.14: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/images/products/signum-cable-organiser-white__82516_PE208378_S4.JPG IKEA | TV & media solutions | Cable management & accessories | SIGNUM | Cable organiser I would chain two together, and have a multiway in the seconds plugged into the first. Use velcro cable ties to keep cables from the same area together.
  25. LosOjos: They claim Arsen Wenger bought one and advised his team to do the same
