  1. I'm glad that worked! I'd love to visit Canada some time, so thanks for that offer - you never know I may accept it! To your questions - the short answers: 1) No 2) Yes: there are two display modes to choose from - room or day. If you choose room, it will display that room for the whole week. This is in School Details > Settings > Bookings display type. 3) No Items 1) and 3) will be in the next version - but the timescale for that release/completion is still very much open-ended I'm afraid!
  2. Hi MrZippy! Thanks for checking out Classroombookings I think I have helped someone else with a similar problem before, so please allow me to copy and paste the response which worked for them: Hope that helps
  3. "Hello, IT? Yes, the cord on my parachute won't work. I need it sorting for this second."
  4. The date is correct - he was actually travelling at 88mph
  5. If anyone's interested in more details of the incident, here's the big report.
  6. At the school I used to work in, I set up DokuWiki (with LDAP integration) for documentation. It had a lot of things: cabs, switches, IPs, printers, projectors etc; and "knowledgebase" type articles for the team - like how to clean projectors, workarounds for known issues, how to package up and roll out certain things. The problem was keeping it updated. We were all so busy doing our actual jobs that it rarely left time to keep everything in there up to date.

    Mouse mat

Only on my own work PC, and only because the mouse and desk surface don't quite get on as well as they should.
  8. Thanks @jonwitts! Yes I agree that would be useful. It is sort-of on the radar for a future development already (as part of another task) so it should make its way in eventually
  9. Thanks for that timo I'm always open to feedback and looking at new ways to make it even easier to use, so all comments are read and considered.
  10. You're welcome timo! Great to see you have mastered the art of delegation there with the data entry What's the most time-consuming part, is it just having to add all the printers and you have so many of them? Or is it the manufacturers, models and consumables?
  11. I've used CBL Data Recovery in the past with great success.
  12. Hi ih125. Sorry the link is dead. I didn't get opportunity to save it before Posterous closed down, and I had no idea the article was as useful as it was (Google shows it referenced on several forums, including one in Russian...). Someone else asked about this last year, and I managed to find a part-archive of the post. Here is what I've managed to salvage: I also have the original unedited photos but they may not be that helpful out of context and without annotations. Good luck! Craig.
  13. All your bass are belong to us.
  14. Hi You shouldn't have to re-create them, no. On the login page, does it display your school name & logo? Also, if you look at the users table in the database on the new server, is it complete with all the users you expect to be there?
  15. I'm on Flickr too Recently I haven't been as active with the camera as I'd have liked, but do still enjoy it.
  16. Hi profit10 Enabling logging in the application might help identify where the problem is. Can you open the config.php file again, and change log_threshold to 4. Then, access the application again. A log file should be generated in system/logs, with the day's date on it. Opening that might have something obvious in, otherwise post some lines that have errors/warnings and I'll try to help
  17. Hello! This should be straightforward. You need to set up the new folder structure and/or virtual host on the web server, move over the whole database and file structure, and (re-)set file permissions. You should be able to take an export of the current database, import it to the new server, and re-create the individual MySQL user account and grant access. If you keep the same username and password it will save you having to change the config files The filesystem permissions that need to be changed are listed at the bottom of the documentation page. Let me know if you need anything else.
  18. Hi itssemi I have an open source project called Classroombookings which might be suitable for you. It's a bit old now - and lacks a lot of features I'd class as "essential" these days and might not be up to the same standard as other competitors - but still has a good number of schools using it. It needs a web server, PHP and MySQL. Craig.
  19. Which OS/environment is this running on? It's likely that it's an issue in finding the file relative to where the script is running or how it's being run. You could try entering the full path to the file in the parameter to file(), or something like: $line = file(dirname(__FILENAME__) . "/examplefile.log")[$k];
  20. Automatically saying "use this one", without knowing all the details, is not the best way to choose a CMS There are a number of variables that go into deciding on the best one for to use in a given situation. Such as... Where is the design coming from? I.e. is there someone with the technical skills to create and implement it within a CMS, or is the expectation that you will just choose a theme and install it? What are your content requirements? Is it just a blog and pages, or are there different types of content that need to be managed more easier than you can with a WYSIWYG editor? Who needs to support it? When things go wrong - where do you go? If it's the CMS' community - how active, friendly and responsive are they? How active is the CMS project as a whole? When was it last updated and what does the future look like? Where is it going to be hosted? Do you have all of the requirements and know-how to do this yourself if self-hosting? Security How secure is the CMS, in general? How many known vulnerabilities are there, and how quickly are they addressed? Who will be responsible for finding out about updates and applying them? Extendability If you want to add custom functionality or integrate with other systems - how easy is it do this?
  21. Incorrect... In the words of Frank Spencer, "a trouble shared is a trouble doubled."
  22. I think it would be counter-productive for you to reorganise it all considering that you don't feel confident about the layout and order of it as it stands, as well as the prospect of a new one coming up shortly. Having said that, important documents and policies are often things that can be made available quickly and easily (even if just as a link to PDFs for the time being), just to get them published and not having to spend too much time on them. This is the way I would approach it if faced with a similar task. Speaking from experience, relying on other staff for content introduces a huge delay anyway - so it might be that the new website launches in a couple of months and you're still waiting for content!
  23. Hi Can you give me any details about the environment that you're running it in please? I.e. web server? MySQL? Has anything else changed recently or is this a fresh install on a fresh MySQL DB and new user? Both: you should be able to change it to use MySQLi by editing system/application/config/database.php, and it is the "driver" entry that can be changed: $db['default']['dbdriver'] = 'mysqli'; Craig.
  24. Have they not cited Lego as one of the many causes of cancer yet?
