    UPS

I'm getting the following messages on a relatively new CyberPower USB: 'There is not sufficient runtime for a complete shutdown even if the battery has fully recharged' 'Available runtime has become sufficient; the ability to process a complete shutdown has been restored' This seems to happen only once a day, so not sure if it's a self test or more of a problem.
  3. Like Steve has said, it all comes down to who supports them and how proactive said company/ LA are at driving IT forward. All but one of our schools now have between two and four servers, all of which run data centre licenses and host a multitude of virtual servers for running a myriad of roles. The one exception is a very small urban school, which is set-up with GAFE and will be shortly switching to Chrome devices. Shudder at the thought of the old bad practice approach of procuring one server, then setting it up as a 'one man show'.
  4. Signed into iTunes? I've signed in DEP - agreed to all T&C's.
  5. Mrnoisy thank you, I'll solider on and drop you a pm if I hit another brick wall. Thanks to you both for the pointers, I'll get the DEP Customer ID over to the reseller this morning, I'd stupidly forgot about that. I'm going to assume once that's in place I'll stop seeing the following message when attempting to deploy apps: 'app installation sign in to itunes to allow devices.lsmdm.com to manage and install apps'. ??
  6. Sounds like I've started on the right tracks but lost my way with perhaps the set-up. My confusion is when logging into the DEP I'm not sure if I'm meant to upload serial numbers for the devices (see attached screen) grab. Sorry, catching a train shortly so may not respond until Monday.[
  7. I've previously been using Apple Configurator to supervise iPads and deploy apps to the devices. The school is enrolled with the Apple VPP. The local authority have been able to provide the school with access to its own LightSpeed Mobile Manager subscription, which I wasn't going to grumble at. I've recently got the school to enrol with the Apple DEP, the intention being to completely move away from using Configurator. I'm struggling to figure out how to set-up the Mobile Manager and wondered if someone could advice on the best method to set the platform up. Currently we have a small provision of twenty pupil iPad's, supervised using Configurator. There is also a small provision of ten devices assigned to staff, however they have only been configured with manual device based restrictions. Would it be best to set-up two individual groups for pupil devices and staff devices in the LightSpeed Mobile Manager? If so, do I assign the DEP certificate above this or for each group? When I attempt to deploy apps I receive the following message on each of the pupil devices: 'app installation sign in to itunes to allow devices.lsmdm.com to manage and install apps'.
  8. What peeves me, is the fact the changes were not broadcast (not to my knowledge).
  9. Spied the refreshed Azure portal when logged into one our tenants this morning, circa 6am, the likelihood it's related to those changes.
  10. PM sent
  11. Seems this the Rights Management licence has now be absorbed into the Office 365 Education for faculty subscription, labelled as Rights Managed Adhoc, thus no unnecessary setup required, other than creating the rule set in Exchange online. Official response from the powers that be: I have double checked the details of your account before the call. As you have the Office 365 Education offer the Rights Management is included in this offer. It means that you will not be able to find this offer in Purchase Services page as it has been merged with Office 365 Education and does not exist as stand-alone. One of the attached screen grabs provides an indication of how you apply the licence to the users. The other grab shows the error message I also get in the Services - Rights Management section, however I'm guessing this is because this would only be active if the licence had to be procured/ activated in Azure. I've tested it working this morning.
  12. Are we not talking about two different things here? Rights Management surely needs to be enabled within tenant in order to then assign to users? I'm also at a loss as to why this feature was and now isn't available within the subscription service.
  13. Not a Sophos UTM, but have used a Meraki MX security appliance. So I'd say the Sophos UTM is probably the best route.
  14. Experiencing an odd problem with a number of Windows 7 computers not presenting the username/ password logon fields following Ctrl, Alt, Delete. This is isolated to three computers so far. I'm guessing an end user has possible powered off the computers during a scheduled update phase. However just wondered if anyone else was or has experienced this issue. Last Known Good Configuration and Safe Mode do the same thing.
  15. Has anyone experience of using a sign-in entry system for school visitors/ staff members similar to this: VII Networks - Audio Visual
  16. Ah I see, makes sense now. Thanks for that
  17. A quick query to ascertain the DEP enrolment... I take it from what it says on the tin (so-to-speak), that I'm required to go to the reseller? Or do I go to Apple for this.
  18. It's certainly an odd one, the problem is happening on three clients, all of which are running Windows 10 (latest revision) with Office 2016 Pro Plus. Mail only sticks in the OWA outbox when sending from the Outlook client, sending mail from the OWA client works absolutely fine. My suspicions at the moment are either the new Windows 10 update, an Office 2016 update or a problem in the O365 tenant.
  19. Make sure the Samsung can play .mkv files, without the need to convert.
  20. I'm experiencing an odd problem with emails sent from the Outlook client (in this case 2016) are sitting as pending delivery in my OWA Outbox folder. The Outlook client informs me the message has delivered, in fact a delivery report confirms delivery at the other end. It's OWA where I'm experiencing the issue. I suspect I'm going to have to log a support case, but wanted to check prior to doing so.
  21. As a MSP, we only ever recommend CleverTouch now, largely due to being impressed with the software supplied, as well as the customer service from our re-seller/ installer. To date we've only needed two screens swapped out within a mixed procurement of circa 35 screens of various sizes/ models, one of which was due to a tiny burnt pixel. I believe the CleverTouch screens now ship with 5-years warranty as standard.
  22. Thanks for the info I have a love - hate relationship with AC1, I now have a hate - hate relationship with AC2.
  23. I bet the cartoon PP is turning in his grave (lets pretend he did grow up)... Which leads me on to my idea for the next Hollywood blockbuster... Peter Pan Zombie Diaries, modeled on the footing as Bridget Jones, but with blood and guts.
  24. For refreshing the OneDrive for Business UI, giving some of us hope that you might, just might, add in a 'multiple download' facility. Why make it look like the consumer version and not include the same features?! Might request my name changed to Mr_Rant.
  25. Is it really customisable is such a way? Granted earlier versions you could butcher the living daylights out if it.
