  1. Curious. It disappeared on the machine I was testing on yesterday. Although ESET keeps telling me it's an unsupported OS, so I need to figure out how to switch that off.
  2. Ironically, the 2025-10 version came out overnight (KB5066791) and KB5065429 got superseded on my WSUS. I've installed the new version and MAK activation still seems fine.
  3. I found that I didn't have to install KB5046613, I think it was superseded anyway. I did have to install the latest cumulative update otherwise trying to apply the MAK would give "Error: 0xC004E016 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0cV004E016' to display the error text.' I followed everything here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/enable-extended-security-updates In short, that means: 1. Applying the MAK: slmgr.vbs /ipk <your MAK goes here> 2. Activating the first year key ESU: slmgr.vbs /ato f520e45e-7413-4a34-a497-d2765967d094 3. And you can then check it has applied with: slmgr.vbs /dlv
  4. My guess is that MS have ditched it because the latest version of snipping tool has the same functionality. More here https://www.windowslatest.com/2025/10/11/windows-11s-win-shift-s-now-lets-you-annotate-on-screen-rolling-out-to-everyone/
  5. Does a local login do the same thing? Are they deployed with something like MEMCM? If so, what does a vanilla Windows install do?
  6. It suddenly started working for me, but only when I used the technique to create an ms-penworkspace:/// shortcut. That shortcut wasn't working to begin with, so something changed, presumably a windows update. But now it's not working again. I still can't access the control panel settings to change which screen responds to the tablet.
  7. Thanks. Yep, looks to be back. It was a temporary outage, despite no mention on service health.
  8. I can believe it! They're not great at keeping service health updated. I'll see what support say...
  9. Hi folks, Has anyone used the Visio web app recently? We’ve got the A1 365 license, but when I try to open Visio today it gives me a “we are sorry, something went wrong” page. I can’t remember for sure whether I’ve ever used the Visio web app (I have a desktop app license) but it does seem to be licensed under A1 https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/about-visio-in-microsoft-365-d6842470-5c65-4058-88d8-bd3a8b683e8a and https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/office-365-education Nothing listed as an issue on service health. Has anyone else used it recently with an A1 license? I’ll give Microsoft support a try as well. Thanks
  10. I'm not because for £1 per machine I can leave it as is, rather than spend the time (= money) to downgrade it. I'm sure there were mumblings about the MS365 apps not being officially supported on those older LTSC versions as well, but perhaps that's the same with all of Win 10 post 14th Oct.
  11. Yep, we've planned this back since the MS announcement 3-4 years ag. I did wonder if MS would blink on the whole deal, although we were already overdue to replace the machines.
  12. To answer my own question, yes, and needs latest CU https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/enable-extended-security-updates?source=recommendations
  13. Got it, thanks! Is the MAK used in the usual way with slmgr /ipk?
  14. Those who have these already, where do they appear in the admin centre? I've looked at this MS document, but I don't see them under my contract as MAKs, assuming they are assigned as those.
  15. Fair point. I could imagine resellers have been waiting for the dust to settle. Another M$ mess, along with half a billion PCs going to e-waste...
  16. That might explain why our reseller have been dragging their feet getting this sorted! So they can make £10ish out of the licenses we need...
  17. Thanks both. It was their support that said the N200 wasn't compatible, but now that I look more closely at the email they cite an N4000, although that's also on the compatiblity list, albeit with a caveat that the machine has to be pre-installed with Windows 11. It does seem to be the install of ESET that brings it to its knees, despite it working fine with Win 10. I've heard nothing further form Dynabook support.
  18. Hi folks, Does anyone else have the Satellite Pro E10-G-101 from the COVID batches, or otherwise? We were using the WhyNotWin11 app to check hardware, and it flagged these as compatible, but it transpires they have a Celeron N200 and aren't. Prior to spotting that, we had deployed a build to them with MEMCM, and all is fine until the anti-virus client (ESET) goes on. This brings the laptops to their knees, although they were fine with this setup and Win 10. Dynabook support have been helpful, pointed out the N200 CPU but provided the original driver pack, which I have included in further test deployments, but that has not helped. Before we write them off, just checking if anyone else has had any success with them and Win 11? Thanks
  19. Is wi-fi an option for testing? Not that it will help if it's something generally up with the network chipset. Definitely an odd one! Let us know what you find.
  20. Sounds like network traffic causing interference with the audio chip. It doesn't do it when browsing the internet, or something else network-y? Patch cable mentioned above, but is it cabled or wireless? If the latter, definitely try a cable, if available.
  21. I'm fully involved, but that's because of role creep. I don't mind though as I enjoy it. If you don't, and feel it's beyond your role, you need to speak to your line manager etc.
  22. Has anyone had issues rebuilding these with Win 11? The deployment does complete with MEMCM, and I've tried with and without Scottyuk30's drivers (as a driver pack in MEMCM), but once complete they are bizarrely slow, so slow they are unusable.
  23. We also had a teacher ask about enabling a graphics tablet on an external screen, which you normall do under control panel > tablet pc settings. The setup button there is greyed out. I've installed the drivers (for a Star G640 graphics tablet) and it has made no difference. Odd!
  24. Same issue here. We have a teacher that loved the windows ink workspace functionality in windows 10. This is supposed to have been replaced by the "pen menu" in Windows 11, but that doesn't seem to work at all, tested on both 22H2 and 24H2. I've tried connecting to a Promethean touchscreen, and a Star G640 drawing pad, neither seem to activate the pen functionality. I've ensure that pen menu is on via the taskbar settings. What am I missing?
  25. Apologies. I've now found it, and managed to login https://help.parentpaygroup.com/csm
