My colleague got it working previously, by luck. You have to uninstall the HID driver that's already there. It will prompt to reboot, but *do not* reboot. Install the replacement driver. It will prompt to reboot, which is fine at this point. Then it seems to work fine.

It's definitely proving odd, as we were given a driver by the laptop supplier that seemed to work. But having imaged a few more laptops and run the driver again it seems to break the Windows install. We also have a driver from Clevo, so will give that a go, or try the registry method.

Looks like we might have a fix. We got a driver from the supplier that seems identical to Clevo's driver, yet works.

I've enabled that, but the chances of a student checking their emails... low I suspect! At the moment I've set the quota to "Hard", so we'll see how well that works...

@FN-GM I was after something that would show on BGINFO, or at least some other method that leaps out at the user. We previously had RM Ranger, and that warns the user constantly, so they're forced to reduce their quota.

Hi folks, We've just put 1703 on a handful of Clevo W950TU laptops and airplane mode is now constantly switching on and off, as if the hotkey is held down. We've run Windows Update, Intel Drive Update, and install the Hotkey and Airplane mode software/drivers. Nothing has fixed it. We've also followed a bunch of other Airplane Mode related troubleshooting e.g. disabling control in wireless driver, disabling RadioEnable in registry, also no joy. Anyone come across this issue and have a fix? Thanks

I had a tinker and it seems not. Can't seem to find any straightforward solution for showing free space on a network drive.

@FN-GM, sorry to dredge up an old post, but am I right in thinking DesktopInfo won't show free space on network drives? I'm guessing not, but just to double check. Thanks!

Hi folks, I've done plenty with images and apps in SCCM, but never broached drivers. It looks like it would be helpful to be able to deploy an Intel NIC driver to some of the PCs, just to update it. The driver downloads as a file called PROWIN64.EXE (for 64 bit) and if I expand this it's full of folders with various drivers in said folders. What's the best method of getting this into SCCM? I note there's both Drivers and Driver Packages. I've had a look at the MS documentation, which is heavy on detail, but doesn't really give any guidance on which approach is best. Thanks

The former only seems to work if you use local profiles.

Sync Center's gone following application of one or more of the settings. Along with the above setting I also did: Prevent use of Offline Folders = Enabled Remove "Make Available Offline" command = Enabled Subolders always available offline = Disabled

"Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature" might sit above this, but there are several GPO settings that control various aspects of it. Just about to enable some of these, will see what happens to Sync Center...

I did wonder if GPO would do it. I spotted some items under Administrative Templates > Network for Offline Files.

Hi folks, In the midst of deploying 1703 Education with Config Manager. I've noticed that Sync Center (green icon) is appearing in the notification area. Yet on another laptop I have with 1703 there's no mention of Sync Center there. Anyone know what's causing this to appear? Could it be a group policy setting? Thanks

Still, they shouldn't just break functionality. There are some things that UE-V can't do e.g. start menus.

Is there a way to get Classic Shell to show standard Win 10 menus, but still allow it to customise the apps list? I'm guessing not, but just to double check.

@revilo I have the exact same problem. Moving from using Ranger and I want to customise the start menu. Getting all the crap out the menu is not proving to be very easy, whether it be via AppX removal or mandatory profiles. I can't get either to work atm.

Using roaming profiles? I've found you have to switch to local profiles to get it to work.

Oddly I can't get a profile built in 1703 to work. Have followed the guidelines as per above link, but when I login to a user with the profile set I get the using temp profile message.

Thanks. This is on 1703, so the "All Apps" bit went (possibly in the previous build also) and you get a more Windows 7 type start menu.

Hi folks, For those who have created mandatory profiles, will the list of apps be included? By list of apps I mean the bit of the start menu where the alphabetical list of apps is, rather than the tiles.
