Is this issue for all users? - No only some, but I have 2 users that I can replicate on every time Is this an issue for all PC's? - No not all PCs, testing with the above users works on some but not others. Which version of Exchange are you using, i.e SP level - We are on SP2 not done any updates for a while. What version of Outlook are you using, i.e SP Level? Hi all, Can anyone please help with our annoying Outlook 2007 problem! When staff open outlook they are being asked to authenticate to our mail server... mail.school.worcs.sch.uk If they pop in their user/pass they can then load outlook and carry on as normal. OR If they first login to OWA webmail.school.worcs.sch.uk they can then load outlook. Does anyone please know what is going on? Also here are the internet requests i captures with putty when they enter their credentials.. Thankyou. Only the one management card has the temperature sensing, so it will only shutdown the servers connected to that server. I think there is an option to ALSO send a command. That command I guess will have to shutdown all the other servers. From further reading i think that I will need to use psshutdown.. psshutdown -k -m "Servers will soon power down, save NOW" @servers_not_on_UPS1.txt Just the question whether as well as the PowerChute softare doing the gracefull shutdown, can it ALSO send the command or is it just one or the other...?

This may sound harsh but one specific ICT Suite is getting vandalised and littered regularly by unsupervised students at lunch time.. We have reporting it numberous amounts of times does not help so I would like to see if there is anything I can do myself? Could all student logins be restricted for one room during a certain time of the day? I just moved a student on who had moved the mouse/keyboard and had a FULL sunday roast out on the desk!!

Hi all, We currently have 8 servers connected to 3 x UPS`s. Each UPS has a management card. Our air-con unit has failed (again). This time I was given money to install a system that would shutdown all the servers if the temp ever got high enough again.... So.. I replaced one of the older management cards with a new AP9631 that also has the environmental monitoring and comes with a temp probe. I have spoken to APC and they are telling me that as I have 3 APCs all connected to different servers, that I would have to buy another 2 x AP9631 cards for the other 2 APCs. Does anyone know a way that instead of spending MORE MONEY, I could use the "Run Command" option in Powerchute to tell the other servers on the other APCs to start shutting down? APC have said I cant do this but, couldnt I just setup all the powerchute agents on all servers to talk to the one ups with the management card? Please help!

If you are running Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V Role enabled you can install version 2.2.3 and use a small script to help with the virtual machine shutdowns. BUT if you have server 2008 R2 CORE installed then you will have to purchase "PowerChute Network Shutdown for Hyper-V" (now £80) as 2.2.3 does not support a core install. Nice little money earner for APC there, especially as everywhere is turning to virtualisation. Aparently the 2.2.5 software just has a block on the installer when it see`s the hyper-V role is installed.

Hi Mate, The key would need to be deleted, then recreated and then the 3 profile keys also added. I have just tested this and they can get logged in when i do this. I assumed that they would get a TEMP profile if the C:\users\username profile wasnt also deleted. I have set GP to add "everyone permission" to the "ProfileList" key, but im struggling to get a user to be able to log-off and run a script that deletes and imports to the registry? is it possible for the normal user? Could you please elaborate on this mate? I dont quite understand what your saying. If this is a fix then that would be amazing !! Thanks

I found that GP setting to be a bit flakey.. Sometimes it would not delete they profile and at other times delete everything but the appdir folder.

Thanks rh91uk, Staff are using Roaming profiles perfectly with Win7. But we do not want students to end up having huge profiles that take them ages to log in and follow them around school. Like you say its a workaround not a solution... Ive tried: Recreating a new man profile (several times) Tried using Super Mandatory profiles Deleting profiles with Ad (3 days is min so doesnt help when they login next day) Anyone please? Ive spent so long looking to resolve this. I would even outsource it if i knew someone could sort it!!

We have 10 Windows 7 machines in our library. Everyday the librarian tells me that many students cant login. They get the "Profile Cannot be loaded" error. I can delete their local profile and also the line from the ProfileGUID in the registry and they can then again log back in. But this is now happening maybe 10 times a day! I cannot find the source of this problem bu think I may have found a clue ! When the student cannot login there is a extra line added and one changed in the registry in their profilelist registry key. These are "NextLogonCacheable=0" and also "State" is changed from 5 to 20001 Has anyone please seen anything like this before?

Right All sorted, Here`s a walkthrough as I couldn't find out how to do it from anywhere else. TheBlackSheep / Glenda pointed me in the right direction! Aim: Students at school get automatically logged in, out of school get the Form Based OWA login screen: 1) As you can only have one OWA in the default website, you need to create a new website (I named it OWA2) in IIS 2) Next you need to create a second OWA using the Exchange Management Console, this OWA website must be created in the OWA2 website NOT the default website. 3) to do this I used command: New-OWAVirtualDirectory -Name "owa2 (owa2)" -Websitename "owa2" 4) Now in IIS setup the external OWA (in default) to use SSL port 443 and change the http port to 1 (could be anything as won't be used) 5) In IIS under OWA2, change the port to 80 and clear the SSL port. 6) In Exchange Management Console, under Client Access, you should see both instances of OWA. You need to set the external SSL owa located in the default website to login using the FORMs method. So set the Authentication to "Use Forms-Based Auth", select "User name only" and choose your domain. 7) Set OWA2 auth to "Use one or more standard auth methods" and select "Integrated Windows Auth" 8) Next in IIS, you need to set the permissions for both sites. The external OWA will need "anon access" ticked for the OWA virtual directory security. The OWA2 site under the owa virtual directory will need anon unticked and have "Windows Auth" ticked. 9) stop the World Wide Web Pub service (takes ages, iisreset seems to fail) then start it again. In School now student can go to: "http://mail/owa" and get automatically logged in without having to enter credentials. At home they can go to "https://webmail.schoolname.sch.uk" and get the form based login screen (customisable) where they must login with their credentials. Good Luck.

Click here for GameKiller 2.5 I have been looking through the source code for gamekiller2 released here by peterp and with some help from "Jenner" on vbforums, managed to overhall Gamekiller 1) BUG FIXED - Software did not check UNC paths only drives (e.g. N:\game.swf), so "\\server\share\file.swf" would not ever get checked/caught. 2) BUG FIXED - If any of the symbol characters % ^ & { } [ ] # ` were used in the path or filenames anywhere, it would not check the SWF file. 3) BUG FIXED - Right Click or constant random entering passwords in the taskbar icon would sometimes cause MCP to crash. 4) FEATURE - "SHOWICON=TRUE/FALSE" added to the INI. Hide the tray icon at PC level using the INI file. 5) FEATURE - Hide the Tray icon on all workstations - Add SHOWICON or HIDEICON line to the hashtxt.txt file to make the tray icon appear or hide on next recheck of hashlist.txt 6) FEATURE - Wait for mapped drives / paths - If any of the paths in the INI are not found on first load, it will then wait 10sec before checking once more. When the paths are found it will continue to load. 7) FEATURE - Repackaged into a single .MSI for installation on Vanilla networks. Now no REG files or BAT installers to be run. 8) CHANGE - Now installs just 3 files into "%Program Files% \ MCP", these are MCP.exe, MCP.INI, Interop.SHDocVw.dll and also one shortcut to MCP.exe in the start-up folder. 9) CHANGE - To try and stop students guessing what this app does and potentially attack it, all references to "GameKiller2" have been changed to "MCP" 10) CHANGE - Got rid of form-based timers and combined them into a background thread. The background thread requires far less system resources and loops on the same interval as the primary timer. 11) CHANGE - Icon added to the EXE 12) CHANGE – Runs with less footprint, now only around 12000k on Win7 64bit. Not seen CPU usage pretty go over 1% 13) CHANGE - MCP now looks to see if hashlist.txt has changed every 100 cycles (1sec) and if so, reloads immediately. LOADTIMER=X is removed from INI (If timer is set to check the workstation every 5sec this will be 500sec between hashlist.txt checks) 14) Tested on win XP 32/64, Vista 32, Win 7 32/64.

I have set this new owa2 to use "Integrated Windows Auth", it so nearly works, it manages to log in but i am now getting the webpage in text ???? Hi, Currently our students access their mail via webmail... When in school they login to the PC, click a link and then have to login once again to webmail. Is there a way to setup webmail to AUTOMATICALLY log them in when in school without the need for them to repeat their user/pass? When they login from home could the login be displayed? Many thanks

This is around £500 with an educational discount. I have been in contact with the company and they let me know that a cheaper, smaller "lite" version might be in the works. Could they click the "My documents" link on the start menu and then enter any folder.. does the path then change to the full path (eg.\\nas\student_drives\05\00a\test) or does it stay as N:test ? Hi all, All student have a homedrive which is their "N" drive. This is all fine.. BUT when they goto start/my documents the path in explorer is "\\nas\student_drives\test_student\file.doc" instead of "N:file.doc" Does anyone please know how to correct this? In GP It is currently set to "Redirect to the users home folder", Ive tried %homeshare% etc but with no luck...
