Seriously, don't you just love computers.. its started working.. I was adding the rest of the drives and changing the permissions and testing and lo and behold.. I could access the remote drives.

I've tried different combinations of permissions including All and All and its still denied. If I change the permission on the share to everyone then it lets me in, if I leave it with the permissions set for the user then its access denied.

Morning, I am getting an error whenever I map a drive that doesn't live on the HAP server box. is there any special permissions I need to do on the drive? The permissions are set right on the share and in the folders for the user trying to access. In the basic version its saying I don't have permission to access the drive.. int he extended its throwing up error messages.

I think it might be a DNS issue with my host, I've removed the address from it and will try again toight after its propogated.

Yes the exceptions are in and the DNS lookup works perfectly. The site instantly fails without an error. i've done a publishing rule for the website but it still fails....its not even trying to connect. I just tried FF and it went through instantly... wonder if its a fault with Home Access + and IE

Hi, I'm trying to get School Access + working with TMG (and UAG) but am having an issue with the IIS site insode m network and I cannot see why. I cannot access the site through UAG from outside so I tried from the TMG box itself and I can't access it either. Now I can access any of the other servers from the TMG server, I have a OWA server which works fine... The IIS site I am having issues with works fine from the internal network and when I use port forwarding on my smoothwall box from home... its just from the TMG box its not working with. Anyone got any ideas? I've tried putting an allow all rule in but its still instantly giving me an error in IE... anyone got any ideas I would try? I'm pretty new to TMG so haven't played with it too much.. all the config has been doen in the UAG console.

Glad I found this, really nice piece of kit.. well done. Just a quickie.. how do the announcements work? I cannot see them on my system. I'm thinking of sticking this through my UAG box and using it instead of the biult in stuff that UAG uses (note to M$, this is miles better than that piece of ****) Anyone else used it though UAG?

Yes you can recover file level through the console if you are backing up the VHD.... one thing not to do is to convert to dynamic disks on the client (I think this is right)..it stops it working at file level and the client has to paused to do the backup...still auto but not as slick.

Whenever I run the Summer install I am getting tolerance not met errors on the server... looking at the package its trying to install the spring release first followed by the other ones up to Summer. I've already used Solus 2 to update the server so was hopeing Solus 3 would realise this and skip what has already been installed. Just got to ring back tech support tomo and see if they can fix whats going on. None of the clients which have used Solus 3 previosuly can attach to SQL now, I have to upgrade the cleints manually. Blinking pain in the bum and no mistake.

I have used BT Business now for the past month after going off Dabs due to its 'problems' and they have been fine *touch wood*. Free delivery and it arrives on time. I do find the invoices a bit weird, they all say copy and my account managers phone number is mine. They do seem to have split BT and DABS now, I used to shop on the dabs site and when I went to checkout it took me to the BT site but now it doesn't. Agree about Misco and the catagories...you would think they would be called monitors but they call them TFT screens, BT do the drill down on the catagories like eBuyer. Probrands catagories are awful too.. I only usually use them when I know what I want.

We've had a few dogs before had serious trouble with a couple due to them being rescue dogs and must have been abused by there previous owners so I am trying to do everything to raise this little bugger to be a good un. He got his first jab today, horrible shreik when they did his chip Sprawled out on his bed now, nice and quiet. Did sit today with him, will be training him to be left on his own in the coming weeks.

My partner and I just bought a new puppy... didn't realise how hard it is... oh and we are getting married in under 3 weeks so we have that to fit in also Its a 10 week old Westie, very loving and cute but he enjoys eating the garden.. and weeing....and pooing.

Hi, I have a weird issue with Solus and Sims. It started out a few weeks ago when I couldn't use Solus on some machines saying the ports weren't open, after a remote session it was found that the firewall was blocking the connection.... even though the firewall wasn't on repeatadly.. ( I was testing it by switching it on and off) but it never worked. I enabled the firewall.. added the ports required and it started working so I thought it was a fault on that machine. Problem is that its happening on the server too, Solus 3 won't deploy the new updates (its done previous ones correctly) and looking at the logs it saying that the ports are blocked... but the firewall is disabled and everything else works... when I enable the firewall Sims stops working (I haven't opened Sims up properly yet) One one computer I could forsee a problem but on the server too???? Anyone else seen this?

Yes 4 is installed. Got my remote client working by running the Simsapplicationsetup.exe. The Simsload on the client didn't pick up the new version for some reason. Now i have installed Summer on the server I would hope that when I sort this out Solus 3 it will just see that its already up to date and skip the updates. On another similar matter... when you deploy an update to everyone... you shouldn't have to do it again should you? It should see a computer come online and deploy the update?

I tried updating using Solus but got a 'tolerance not met on package'... then it rolls back. looks like it tries to update the database before it allows the clients to rol out (may be wrong) So I logged a case with Solus just now and went back to the old method... ran Solus 2 and installed it on the Sims Server perfectly. Only problem is the clients don't install the update so i am getting imcompatible database errors on the clients now. Oh dear...looks like a busy day for me tomo

Morning, We are a smallish private school which runs Opera II as our finance package, currently all bills are inputted manually (the worst job in the world) so am looking for alternatives. Does anyone run FMS to do their bills? I am not sure how people would like it if we ran two finance systems (especially if Sims is £££££). I hoped FMS would link somehow with the other finance system but can't see it. Ta

Hi, I've got 3 projectors to install over the summer, I've bought 2 CP-D10's with short throw bracketrs from RocheAV (put one up yesterdat... nice and easy) but the 3rd is going in a library and I think the best option is a rear projection screen and projector as I don't want the projector to hang from the ceiling due to its poor quality. Has anyone used the screens before? I've only seen motorised ones for around £500 which is alot more than the £100 I usually spend but it would look cool I wondered if I could get away with a CP-D10 as they are good value from Roche but not sure about the 2000 ansi.. will this be enough for rear projection?? I will be installing this myself due to tight budgets (and I enjoy it )
