Sorry, I meant more info about these 2 products, their is some blurb in the entitlement guide about them both. Agora sounds interesting but wondered if its a addon to their gateway and FMS or its a standalone.. the Earnie thing talks about payrolls and Bacs which looks interesting too. The bit about multiple Timetables isn't on my bill, just mentions it in the booklet also... its the independent schools booklet so might be different for state schools.

Hi, I got my annual maintennance pre-invoice suprise today which came with a couple of booklets... one mentioned Agora and Earnie but I can't find anything about them on the Sims site.. anyone heard/got any info about these. Anotehr interested thing in the booklet is Multiple timetables for schools that go all the way through from Nursery to Sixth form like ours (about time)

Mmmm.. when I change the footer or header of the template it breaks the template altogether. I even followed the instructions where it tells you to put in a page break and change the second pages footer/header and then delete the page break but it still breaks all the tags. I wonder if my default template is broken? Logged it with Capita so will see what they say.

Its very weird, I log on as that user directly onto the remoteapps server and it works fine and gets into exams.. if I log on via the UAG and remoteapps then I get the incorrect connect.ini. I can't do the simsinst thing as its a remoteapps thing (I think) and I have done a search for all the connect.ini on the server and they all look the same... where is the virtual store directory? I have logged it with Capita but they haven't got back to me yet.

Annoyingly whenever I delete the Sims image on the default XML it breaks the header tags, I look at it in notepad++ and some messy code is still there.

Dark art is one word for it The profile stops almost straight away after the name and doesn't show the reg. When I save the XML and open it up in notepad++ it shows all the XML gubbins including an image thats not there anymore but the tag validator says everythign is ok... bonkers. I did use the all subjects XML to clone this one. Its going to be a long process getting this working. Whats annoying is the fact I can't delete the old XML files as they say they are in use with a comment bank.. but they are not.

Is it me or is this a pain? I am doing the template like the (thin) manual says but its not outputting... Even a basic tag works sometimes and then not the next. Is there some mnarkups that are hidden that it relies on? I've pasted a basic section below but it doesn't output right... I've ben sent a couple of examples to test. Hi, My remoteapps server was working fine but now seems to through up errors with the old systems (exams manager). The error is incorrect connect.ini. It logs into Sims fine but when I click on exams it throws a wobbly. The logons work perfectly for me and i can get into sims exams. The only thing I can see different is I am a domain admins and have a logon script. Everyone else uses GP preferences to map drives. I have put a script back too map the drive into one of the users but that doesn't help.

Hi, I have a strange problem with my remoteapps server which I use with Sims and UAG. Its been working fine but for some reason now I can't get any of the remote apps to work for the staff. When they log on I can see that its creating a new profile called temp instead of copying their profile from the server or naming one after their name. Even when they have no remote profile listed its still giving them a temp profile. When I log into the remoteapps server as that user I am getting an error message saying that I am logged in with a temp profile. I have checked permissions and they all are fine. If I remove the user from all the policies it manages to load Sims but still uses a temp profile. Can anyone offer any advise? Seems a bit weird

I have a piece of software that connects to a MS DB on a 2008 server (its called food in focus). Its locking people out when they log out and back in...or if there are 20 or so people using it. I was told it could be the MS Access connection limit which I thought was in the ODBC connectors in the control panel but cant find the limiter.. anyone know where it might be or if its something else.

Did anyone see the finale of season 2 the other night? I have a tendency to fast forward past some of the earlier episodes as there is far too much talking and not enough zombie action... and I hate the english actors American accent. The final bit with the girl and the swords and the armless zombies... WOW.... it was like from another show entirely, and the prison will be rather cool for the next season. Stopping myself reading the comics to get get ahead.

I went with DigitalID after the recommendations on here. Delivery was excellent but their after service is doing my head in... and they have a premium rate number for support at £1.50 a minute. I think its a common issue nowadays... if someone tells you thy will ring you back expect to have to chase them 4 times to get anywhere.

Hi, I am getting a incorrect Sims.ini when one user connects to RDP Sims... strangley it works for everyone else on the same computer. I have tried diffferent computers but it follows them around. Their profile looks okay and I have tried deleting their profile but its doing the same thing.. very very weird. Anyone seen this? The connect.ini is perfect on the machine. (the RDP server and the client) and testing other teachers takes them straight in so I am a bit baffled. I don't use RDP profiles but have tried one and it didn't seem to pick them up. They don't have a profile on the RDP server either.

Hi guys, We are trying to get Profiles up and running and are struggling with the report output. Can someone post me their XML so I can see how they have done it. I understand you can put all the subjects on the same XML file and it will just miss out the ones with no records but can't get it to work for me. Does anyone use the same XML for the whole school or more than one year group?

Hi, We have Home Access plus as the first step towards a VLE... gauging how staff feel about using it but one of the things they do is just writes the homework schedule on a word document and the staff read it. What I want is to create a very simple moodle site where they can log in (automatically hopefully) and create pages for the homeworks. I am not savvy with Moodle (tbh I don't like it) but I have a simple site set up. I did look at Sims links as it would be really nice to link the staff accounts to Sims and import all the students automatically.. my goal would be to pull in the kids timetables so they open up moodle and see their timetable and their homework. How hard is this? I don't have the budget for the Sims link just yet so fancy having a go at it myself.

Not sure if I understand .I have changed the settings so it goes into the basic view rather than the extended version, its the link at the top of the basic view where it opens the silverlight popup with the option for the 'Switch to HTML Uploader'... would like the upload link to point directly to the HTML Uploader.

Hi, I have disabled silverlight in the selector but it when I click on upload I am getting an error message about Silverlight... is there a way I can force the HTML option directly. Thanks Simon

Your right, it was Calibri that was the issue. I removed the advance features tickbox on all the K5400 printers in school and it 'seems' to have solved it... or I could just tell everyone to change the font.

Interesting, I updated Outlook to 2010 on the machines but left the rest at 2007.. wonder if thats messed up. The printer drivers are up to date so I can't do anything with that.

Morning, I have a strange problem around school where some of my printers have started missing letters out, its weird. I went to one of the printers and tried it yesterday and it was weird... i printed out the word test 100 times and it removed the t and the s. I rebooted the print server and it solved it but its come back. The only thing I can think of thats changed is that I had to move the hyper-v to another drive and it installed some updates, which I need to have a look through. Anyone else seen this. .. it seems to different printers HP 5400 and a HP 7000 up to now.
