Okay so I am really really stuck now. I have just reinstalled my Smoothie from scratch as I was convinced something was going funny with it... restored the config from a backup and the same thing is happening. I have a IIS server with a simple 443 port forward... works perfectly every time I have a OWA server... works if I reboot the exchange box but fails over time I have a Guacamole server... doesn't work at all I have a web server running on a QNAP box.. doesn't work If I switch from my WIFI to 4G then it works. This points to my WIFI being the issue but there are a lot of my users having similar issues. When I look at my SW logs I can see the connection opening and working, there is no rhyme or reason that I can see. I had a brainwave it might be my Hyper-V server.. but QNAP isn't running on that. SW are saying its not them - - - Updated - - - PS.. I am on Framinglington now.

Yep, in Leeds. Will post them.

I've been using Azure with DPM for a while just to backup my DPM database and server. I don't think our internet would be happy doing a full backup over the wire. User Firestreamer for off site disk backup

I switched away from Zen as they were messing up mail to BT so I've had issues before like this. I think its a SW issue. I've exhausted every other possibility but they say the Edinburgh update didn't touch any of the networking. I fixed my SMTP traffic issue this morning by removing logging and IDS on the port forwarding rule (IDS wasn't even enabled on the ports) and SMTP traffic magically appeared. It stopped again so I removed the rest of the loggings on the ports (didn't remove them over the years after logging) and SMTP is working. I've not touched Exchange when this happened. Its a huge coinkydink to me.

I decided to use the Google policy for the nexus machines I have which are running 5+ and the deployment works really well, much better than Meraki but that has pathetic lockdowns too so you end up with a open tablet. The little HUDL devices we have are running 4 so don't work at all with google.

I am still having major issues with this and SW haven't figured anything out yet, they've said its not the SW box. So I am sat at home and using my laptop on my broadband I get through to 1 of my internal servers but it wont go through to the other 1. I switch to 4G on my phone and it works fine Looking at the SW logs they show the connection being accepted on the SW box on all ports. I have moved the hyper-v network sockets around to test, taken off the IDS on the SW.. even purchased new static IP addresses and swapped the port forwarding to a totally different external line. Pulling my hair out now. I did a straw poll and its 50/50.. some can use it, others can't get on.

So I have decided to use this abomination for now, Meraki doesn't seem to play well with work profiles and I cant work out why. I've setup a device but no apps are deploying.. which I think because the android for work app isn't on so I installed it but there is no 'open' to configure it when its installed. Anyone else use it? I'm not sure I am doing the steps in the right order. Wipe device Logon using account with a policy Install the Google Apps Device Policy approve device Install the Android for work app Now I am stuck, I am really surprised there isn't any further lockdowns in the settings... unless you have a v6 android device.

I'll try it tonight, the guacamole server hasn't worked for me since Edinburgh (huge coinkydink)

Well that's 2 calls to Ireland resulting in zero help. I get the impression they aren't that bothered as we aren't paying them...tax dodgers

This is happening to another server too which is running Magellan (Gucamole) so I don't think its a Exchange issue which is even more baffling. Smoothwall have had loads of packet captures and found nothing wrong, I've ploughed through the event logs and found nothing. So logically, if I cannot connect from home on my WIFI to certain school servers its my broadband... except other users are having the same issues. On my phone I can try connecting to school via the WIFI and it fails... I switch to 4G and it whizzes through. I've not worked out how to tracert using my phone as I wanted to see if they go the same route. Rebooting the SW box doesn't help and I can see the traffic hitting the logs. I have paid for additional static IPs to go on my secondary Fibre line so I can test that and I turned off the BT modems for 10 minutes this morning to clear them up. If I had hair it would be pulled out by now as I am baffled.

Open to offers, but lets say £20 the lot.

Yep, more dusty now

Found the enable, you have to go into rollback then there is an option to enable the update on the drop down... logical
-
I cant seem to find the task to enable the updates, might just leave it while tomorrow then as I set it to 24 hours.. I think

Nope, nothing yet. Have sent a few dumps to them but they haven't found anything. I am starting to wonder if its something else, just put EST on my server so wondered if that breaks something.

Esets phone is engaged all the time too
-
Morning, Anyone found issues with ESET blocking everything today through the HTTP Filter? I have hundreds of errors accessing simple websites.. even a internal XIBO server. And there phone number is engaged constantly. I am finding it a frustrating experience. In v6 on the servers I am getting HIPS errors saying 'User rules contain invalid data' so disabled HIPS... but still getting the errors which they can't understand, so they asked me to go to v4.5 so see if the error went away but that doesn't even have HIPS on it and it doesn't use the remote console. Monday mornings.

We've got it setup but ended up installing it manually and setting the profile to a shared drive on the network. It seems to be happy, the only thing I suppose is anyone can mess up anyone else's profile if they re-record the levels but haven't seen that yet.

Scully is still stunning, think half the reason I watched it to start with was her. It's not something I am rushing to watch..unlike walking dead, suits, last leg etc..

Thanks for this, just contacted Smoothwall and they are looking into it but it looks like the engineer that did your fix didn't document what he did so mines been elevated to second line. I actually thought it was Exchange as rebooting the SW didn't help, but I suppose if the ARP cache isn't cleared on reboot it will still be stuck.

Hi, Just wondered if anyone else has seen this before I delve into troubleshooting tomorrow. Our OWA access (and outlook over seems to stop all of a sudden for external clients. I first thought it was Smoothwall and port forwarding but they looked art it and the traffic is going through fine. Accessing emails timed out but I rebooted it tonight and it sprang back to life. its never failed inside the school just externally. I haven't looked at the logs in anger yet, just curious if anyone has seen something similar.
