Ill try setting the permission manually tomorrow and redeploy it. Just got mandatory profiles sorted so this is my next job.

Mmm, cant get mine to overwrite the file, always says I dont have permission even when I deploy through GP. I've taken control of the file but it wont save the permissions. I'm doing in on a VHD of a test machine so its not in use. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

I know I whamp on about PDQ Deploy a lot but I use this to deploy it with the switch /qn ADDLOCAL=ClassicStartMenu /l* output.log NOSTART=1

The only issue i have is the delay when you first login and press the start button. If your inpatient and click the start button again it causes explorer to restart. Worse on my servers but I have learnt to wait.

Yep.. although they are deployed not testing. I just pick a random one that failed to work on and fix.

I'm having this with Cumulative updates and have moaned about it on here a few times.. never sorted it. Some will eventually work, others will just hang. I ended up restarting the update service and deploying them through pdq deploy. Be interested if you find the reason because M$ havent given me any as of yet. I actually thought it was to do with me changing the UAC. other updates work for me, just the CU stuff.

Smiled more in the first 10 minutes than I did in the entire Tog Gear series. Very good. Clarkson is still a tool.

Hi, Does anyone know the default password to get onto a DT700 2 key IP phone? I thought I knew how to add one to our phone system as I watched the engineer do it last time but I cant get onto the phone using the IPPhoneManager software to stick the server IP in. We do have a service contract but thry are a bit slow. i've tried loads of combinations but cant get in.

I have to turn ours off when the film club starts as it blocks most trailers. Its weird because I can unblock a channel but the videos are still blocked.. it only seems to unblock individual vids. Staff seemed to have got used to approving videos though, but I havent seen a drop in youtube traffic.. they still use it as a babysitter.

Designated survivor is ok, its a bit full on and Keifer isn't the best actor... its been a long time since his standout performance in Young Guns (still one of my favourite films)

Half of my updates are sticking on the computers so I intended to get a base image with the latest cumulative update on and wds it. I need to investigate why they are hanging cos I thought it was just because of w10 being a bit rubbish. I might update one of my bare metal servers to 2016 and stick wds on it and see if its me. Ps. I love pdq deploy, makes deploying updates like this a breeze

Since its release 1607 seems to have a massive cumulative update every few weeks. I've just finished rolling out W10 across the school and deicded to force install KB3194798 as its quicker... all was lovely and green ticked on my WSUS console until this morning when KB3197954came out which is another 800Mb file. I presume this is the way M$ are going forward with updates but these are flipping huge, fingers crossed it doesn't break anything.

i watched the first 2 episodes yesterday, very stylish and tense. I heard the second series comes out in December but I was hoping it would just be a one series wonder so we found out what was going on and not dragging it out.. ala LOST Westworld is excellent, really enjoying it.

Yeah I've worked through that. Changed it to Kerberos but still no joy. I ended up renaming the new server and putting hyper-v back on as I thought there was some naming issues but its still not working.

LOL. This is even more bonkers. I can sit at my PC and ping the new server... it works. I can log into the hyper-v server and ping the new server... it works I cant connect to the file system on the new server using UNC via its name or the IP

Hi, been at this for a good hour now. Trying to migrate a host to a new 2016 box and getting 'an error occured while attmepting to contact the VMM service on desitination "". Verify if the service is running and you are authorised. and in the event log DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer FUL-SIDESHOWBOB.*** using any of the configured protocols; requested by PID 16d8 (C:\Windows\system32\mmc.exe). I've disabled the firewall, disable and re-enabled the live migration table, added the account to the hyper-v local group but its still failing. I can do it between 2012 R2 fine

Anyone noticed this on their network. When I installed W10 Edu the network icon was fine when I started the PC up. When I startup LTSB its got a cross on it saying no internet access. Port 80 is blocked so LTSB is chatting to the internet when it boots up whereas Edu doesnt have to. if I open 80 its ok. They boot up and work fine.. just a bit weird.

Still happening on updates. Sat watching a new PC installing KB3199209 which is stuck on 68%.. now its on 67%.. WHY IS IT GOING BACKWARDS. I'm going round finishing off W10 on my network and forcing 798 to install after its deployed.. I have 2 machines that are trying to install it again even though it says its successful.

Hi, We have 25 Ruckus APs around school which seemes to work fine but I want to extend the coverage to a couple of outbuildings. My controller just does 25 and I really dont have the cash to add more licenses but we were kindly donated some Cisco AIR-LAP1131AG-E-K9 units with a controller so fancy using these. I havent delved into the ins and outs of them yet but, has anyone setup a mixed WIFI network that plays nice with each other. Our Ruckus has VLANs setup for BYOD through a portal logon page so somethign similar is needed. The controller sounds like a aircraft carrier but was told if I wanted to use them independantly I needed to image them.
