OK, this has now escalated to "I hate it with a passion and would happily swear a lot about it right now"! On a windows computer I can open a browser, go to appleid.apple.com and sign in. Hooray me! On the MacBook in question, I open the AppStore, click "Get" on Catalina, type in the same username and password and it tells me my Apple ID or password is incorrect. About a second after it tells me that, I get a text message on my mobile from Apple telling me what my 2FA code is. If my credentials are wrong (which clearly they aren't as I can log in on my Windows box fine) why is it sending me a text with a code in it? Anyone?? Thanks

Thanks all for clarifying. Looks like I won't go down that route then! The padlock is going to be more of a deterrent than trying to give 100% security, but even so..... We'll go with a combination, which the kids will invariably find out, or keys, which will get lost (sorry; I mean "someone has taken it") route.

Sorry - no idea what this means. Also, I didn't say I want a cheap one, happy to buy a decent one, but my question is do they exist? There are reasons we'd like one which can read badges but if it isn't an option then we'll go for a standard padlock and work around the issues it causes.

Anyone use any NFC padlocks? We have Salto throughout, but it is well known (even their resellers say it) that their padlocks are garbage. Anyone use one which works well for them? Will they work with our existing Salto badges?

Yup, that's where I went. The massive bold bit at the top which tells you your allocation, I was just seeing "bold text" and assuming it was a title so didn't bother reading that bit.......

We've been waiting for iPads to become available on this, and have received an email saying they now are. I've gone on and it basically lets me add as many iPads to my basket as I like. I currently have 1118 in my basket! How do I know how many I've been allocated, and dare I try and order 1118!? Or add some more and order a few thousand?

Installed Chrome and it now gives me a get button, which in turn opens the AppStore, however no, I am not signed in to it. I'll get signed in and should then be away. Thanks all.

I don't have a "View in Mac App Store" button. Just a big gap where one should be. Any point installing Chrome and trying through a different browser?

It opened in their store's website rather than the AppStore? And doesn't offer an "Install" or "Download" or whatever button. I don't like Apple stuff at the best of times, this is not helping. It worked until my tech wiped it Friday. And if it can run Mojave, why doesn't it offer it?

Seems not. It's on 10.9.5 and says there are no updates available. It's a MacBook Pro, 13-inch, Mid 2012 according to it's "About".

Any idea why the iPad on the left can't Airdrop to the Macbook on the right? According to stuff I've found on the Internet, the Mac should have a drop down list on that screen asking me who I want to be available to? Please help! Thank you Stuart

I'd wondered about those, but I'm not convinced the teacher will want to be (or rather "not convinced the teacher should be") wearing noise cancelling headphones in a classroom. I realise they can just hang them around their neck, but I'd rather it was just a lapel mic or something.

Got a teacher who wants to walk around his classroom to help the kids on-site, but then be wearing a mic so he can talk to the kids at home who are on Teams. Anyone got a recommendation please? Thank you Stuart

Did you get anywhere with this? We have just started using BandLab, although on Windows devices, and the students can't save. It just comes up with an unhelpful "Something went wrong" type message.
