One of our guys uses a bit of software from the DfE which I don't know a great deal about. LRS Batch Validation Tool. It complains on running that; An unexpected error occurred while parsing the rules file. Please contact LRS Support. Error details:The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. I have contacted LRS Support and they've told me to install the "Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable", which for me is installing parts of Office 2010, which is no longer supported or patched, and makes 2010 updates appear in WSUS again. I kicked up a stink and told them 2010 is no longer supported etc. and they've told me to try the 2013 version instead. Well that is also not supported anymore, and it doesn't work anyway! The 2016 version also doesn't work. Anyone else use it and have it working OK? The DfE are just sticking to installing the 2010 version. That's not right though is it? Stuart

I am unable to reset users passwords in the same way as I always have done. If a student forgets their password, we reset it in the admin center to the same thing we always do and then get them to log in while we are with them so they an choose a new one. I'm now getting "Error resetting password" when I try to set it to what we've always used. If I choose something different it works. Did MS change something? Thank you Stuart

To be honest they all seem to suck, you just need to pick one and hope they suck the least. Cunninghams suck the most though. We're with BioStore and their support has recently gone down hill when it comes to initial contact, but then they seem OK when you actually get help. @borg - Joined 2014, Posts: 1?!

It's now in the "C:\ProgramData\FMS" folder, but this fixed my problem in 2021!

I've got 130 of these and I hate them. Batteries seem OK in ours though. We at first thought we had problems with the batteries, but then found that the trolleys weren't charging them properly and needed a firmware update.

I have recently become aware of a problem we have. In the IT dept., our accounts were admin accounts. I have changed this so we each have a standard account, and each have and admin account as it should be. Since I have done this I have noticed that when looking in Windows Explorer, the "Recent Files" list is empty. Also, I have Remote Desktop and Word pinned to my taskbar. If I right click on these icons as soon as I log on, they have no history. It will build up my 'recents' during that session, but when I log off and log on again it's empty again. I have also now found that everyone has this issue, but no-one else has noticed/minds so no-one has reported it to me and when our accounts were admins we didn't have the issue so we didn't know. I have a few folder redirect errors in the Event Log, but they are for videos/pictures etc. which wouldn't store any profile data anyway. Any thoughts please? Stuart

I appreciate it isn't super useful to you for finding a solution, but I use one of those and don't have that problem. Windows 10, Chrome or Edge, USB 2 port on my laptop. Backend is running on a Server 2012 R2. Any other info you'd like?

I'm 99% certain I know the answer to this is "No", but it's worth a shot; I created some teams using the admin backend for Teams. These teams aren't a "Class" as it doesn't ask you that when you create them in there. Anyway to change them in to a class? Please........

My VM DC syncs it's time to it's host. I changed the hosts time and it corrected the DC after a few minutes.

I can see that you are doing it as "User Configuration", but is this linked to a Computer OU, or a User OU? I'd like (for example) the room 20 printer to be the default printer when they are in room 20, the room 15 printer to be the default when in room 15, etc. Stuart

I simply cannot get the default printer set using group policy. Anyone any last thoughts please before I bin it off and use a con2prt script? Stuart
