Schools Broadband or RM Broadband?
MartinT replied to deano3693's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
SchoolsBroadband if you wanted a fully filtered service. We've got a 200M Exponential-e leased line and a Smoothwall as we do it all ourselves. I wouldn't touch RM, ever. -
You can't tell volume from a video. However, it does look good and the engine note is fine for a turbo unit. They are never going to scream like the old V10s.

I'm using LiveDrive. It's file level, but that's what we want. Client sits on the backup server and does its thing, throttled so that it doesn't stuff the bandwidth. Has a nice app for the phone allowing me to recover any document - great for demonstrations. Encrypts everything between client and their cloud. £100 a month for 10TB.

Thursday for me. One day will be quite enough!

That sounds like a double win. Brawn will ensure that the racing comes first.

Because greedy Bernie demands a fortune for hosting the GP and many of the European circuits find it difficult even to break even. Look at France, already gone, and Germany who are struggling.

Hamilton and Bottas should co-exist pretty well.

Two Hyper-V hosts with failover of important virtual servers to the other one. Keeps both busy but still gives you almost instant switch over if one host fails.

Reports generating Excel and Word documents, Individual Reports with the Add-ins macros for template creation and running parental reports.

We have W10 Pro x64 deployed to all workstations and tablets (completed last year). I have just recently created an MDT task for W10 Education x64 which we shall roll out in future on an as-needed basis. Also going to start rolling out Office 2016 as a replacement for 2013 since we have completed testing with SIMS.

Using Edge as the default here. I will install Chrome for those who need it but there are fewer reasons to do so these days. Edge has become pretty reliable and remains fast. I invoke our VLE (Firefly) for any new instance which disposes of the MSN crap that otherwise starts.

We always deploy a master Volume Licence ISO, rather than capture a build (this is Microsoft's recommended method for MDT). We're deploying W10 Education x64 1607 with drivers for all our machines and Office 2013 as well as many other standard apps. After experiencing a problem with Windows updates hanging, we disabled that step in the Task Sequence and the deployment is successful with no errors. We do have to perform all the updates afterwards, though.

We already have SOLUS 3.11.56.1 agents. Noticed that the FMS updates took an age this morning with big pauses between SQL, Borland and client parts. Slightly unusual, but all done now.

Sophos UTM and Firefly VLE

It's a bit late but I can answer this question if you're still stuck. -
Yes, many thanks for the meeting and to Epson for hosting it. See everyone at BETT.

I've registered and will be attending.

Try whitelisting or do-not-authenticate listing edugeek.net in your firewall.

I like it, it's an improvement over the W8.1 mail app and works well. I wish for better junk control, is all. It's certainly excellent in tablet mode, I use it all the time.

You do need MDT 2013 Update 1, either the Preview or the final version, which has not yet been released.
-
The VL site has the W10 ISO images and licence keys and everything deploys either manually or via MDT. I've tested it all and it works.
-
If you try and install SCEP manually, it says SCEP is already installed, thus detecting Defender as SCEP. It proves that the cores are the same. I'm not worried, we can deploy SCEP when it becomes available.
-
Thanks, Arthur. I guess we wait...
-
Has anyone seen the all-important MDT 2013 Update 1 yet? I already have the AIK for Windows 10 and the 32-bit and 64-bit W10 Pro ISO images, I'm just missing the final piece for MDT in order to start testing automated deployment.

Stet, that was my fault. SIMS reports are working fine now.
