On a computer, log in as Administrator. 2. Launch "Registry Editor". 3. Navigate to "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System". 4. Create a new "DWORD (32-bit) Value" named "SafeModeBlockNonAdmins". 5. Double-click "SafeModeBlockNonAdmins". 6. Change the value to "1". 7. Click "OK". 8. Close "Registry Editor". When a local users of domain users log in on safe mode, Windows will show the following message. "Enforced policy permits only administrators to log on in Safe Mode". Reference: A hotfix is available to block standard users from logging on to a Windows 7-based or Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer in safe mode This posting is provided “AS IS” with no warranties, and confers no rights!

i'm afraid not...it's just a hobby...every now and then we'll build a themed cab and sell it on.....sometime if we have enough time we accept commissioned builds. But recently we've just had no time, and my uncle (who is a carpenter) has started his own business...and i'm full steam at work being the ONLY it guy.....so it's same old same old..... all work and no play

Hi all, We are a Google apps for edu site and have blocked youtube for some time now..... last month Google announced that it was no longer supporting youtube for education, and if we wanted to filter the site. We needed to follow the below steps; https://support.google.com/a/answer/6214622?hl=en&ref_topic=6248111 and configure our Google admin panel. So i thought we'd give it another go. we use a windows dns server and have a sophos utm for webfilteing. i find the documentation that google supplies above somewhat incomplete (for my tiny brain anyway). So just wanted to reach out and ask if anybody had configured this new method, and how you are finding it. thanks in advance.

Thought i'd report back to say i've sorted this issue. Setting the Teaming mode to "LACP", load balancing mode to "Dynamic" and configuring the switch port to allow LACP sorted the migrate issues.

Veeam Endpoint Free with Backup and Replication
Jaan replied to JScott's topic in Enterprise Software
We have all virtual servers, except one physical DC and a fileserver.... we want to do the same thing as you (OP). however i can't find anyinfo on whether the Veeam Endpoint retains and restore ntfs file permission on network shares. -
create new, or import?
-
Yes we have HP Switches a5500-ei-sfp-24 from memory. Both switch are named the same, both have different MAC ranges, the vms are all on the same ip range and use the same gateway. thanks all.
-
Sorry for the late reply, end of term rush and all...... anyway..... the logs look fine, we have 4 core switches that are stacked..... with each physical nic (of the team) connected to 1 of each of the four switches. The ports aren't aggregated/trunked. As the team has been configured as "switch independent"/hyper-v port. The other hyper-v host we have is configured the same way. cheers
-
i thought the vswitch created in hyper-v manager did all that via layer 2? only my vms have static ips and the management nic on the host. but i've looked at this for far to long, non of t makes sense now lol
-
when using the "move wizhard" all the settings are retained....static ips, and network configuration..... it just stops working..... if i transfer it back... it starts to work again.
-
the server (dell r610) has 4 broadcom nics on the board, the new card is the INTEL 4 port i350 cheers for looking
-
yes, correct... if the vm was created on the host to which it was created....it doesn't seem to be an issue.... if i move it to an alternative host.... thats when the issue starts. thanks again
-
yes but only on some of the Vms that i transfer. cheers
