select * from Win32_OperatingSystem WHERE (Version => "6.1%" AND ProductType="1" ) this works does it? i like your logic
-
Hi Guys/Gals i need to make a WMI filter so only windows 7 and windows 8 32bit and 64bit are effected Not any windows xp or server based OSs. also i need to make sure the 64bit Architecture relates to the OS not the CPU. here is the filter i've made..... can anybody shine any light on this please? select * from Win32_OperatingSystem WHERE (Version like "6.1%" or Version like "6.2%") AND ProductType="1" AND (OSArchitecture = "64-bit" or OSArchitecture = "32-bit")

hi guys/gals, do you know of any sites or documents that list the recommend "virtual spec" of hyper-v server given the roles that they will run? looking at 2 hyper-v servers or one physical and vm running; dhcp (in fallover) dns Active directory GPO i've also been told to run all the above on a phyiscal server and replicate it to a vm.......as having both as a vm is bad practice. Any info would be great guys...... and thx again

Sorry for the late reply and thx for your help so far...... each of the 4 core switches has port 1 set and a dynamic aggregation link with LACP already.... im under the impression (i'll need to check the manual again) that i can not create a link aggregation over two physical switch in a HP 1910 stack. it has to be on the master switch. which is way i wanted to know if a IRF link on a hp 1910 is limited to 1gbit per port or does it use it own stacking protocol and if so what speed? it just looks like a bottle neck to me..... but my brain is already mushed! and again thx for your help.

Hi guys/gals We have a server 2003 environment and are testing server 2012. When I added server2012 to the domain and the computer and internet explorer Icons vanish from the start menu….. I’ve stop policy inheritance for the server thinking one of the policies might be causing it….. but its still an issue….. before we joined it to the domain it was fine……. Im able to replicate this using a virtual machine also….. Am I missing something obvious?

I have 1 stack of 2x hp 1910s (edge switches) and 1 stack of 4 x HP A5500 EI (Core Switches) and want to link my edges to to core via link aggregation. I under the understanding that thats is what i have got. i thought i had two stacks of two different switches..... a core and edge... am i wrong?? I'm new to this is is my diagram wrong on how you would connect to core to the edge switches?
-
Hi guys and girls, I'll try to explain this the best i can, but i've also drawn a little pic for you all (yay Art). I have a core stack that consists of four HP A5500 EI switches that have dedicated stack ports/cables on the rear of the unit. Each of these four switches has a aggregated port which connects to an edge switch. My edge switches are HP1910-48g and do not have dedicated stack ports. They have a feature called IRF that allows me to define which ports i want to use in a stack. I'm having problems finding info of what data though-put a IRF port is capable of between the stack. Looking at my pic below (dont laugh took me ages!). the switches on the left are my edge switches.... the switch on the right is my core stack. If the edges switch are connect via a single irf cable (this is just a standard cat6 cable where the port has been configguired as a irf port) Am i right in thinking that the "Master" switch has a data through-put to the core of approx 4GBits, but the slave only 1Gbits because of the cable bottle neck? i can add another 3 IRF ports to make a 4gbit link, but just wanted to know if a port is set as a IRF port its through-put is equl to the switches internal swich speed or capped @ 1Gbit. I'm alittle confused.

cheers ... looking in getting these "reflashed" to work with the current FW"
-
Hi guys. we have some edge switches hp v1910 and the 3rd party modules work fine on them..... however, we also have a stack of four hp a5500-ei-24g-sfp and the 3rd party modules dont work..... the log says something along the line of: sfp check sum error this transceiver is not comparable with the board etc etc i have 30 of these at the moment! the firmware on the a5500 is 5.20 r2208 so does anybody know if any other 3rd party modules can be bought.... or cheap HP 1 gbic modules can be bought..... i need approx 30-40 of these (over 4 stacked sfp core switches)
