OK i've had this issue for a while if i'm honest. It remember it starting after an MS update was applied. It's not all services, mainly SQL, cashless service to name a few. I've had a quick Google and found that maybe this might help; Changing the service to start as a network user instead of "this account", or to change it from start automatically to automatically (delayed start). Just wanted to know if anybody else has had this issue and what you did to fix it if you did. Don't really want to start poking the services with a dirty stick if i don't need to. Thanks in advance.

Did anybody figure out why the custom message isn't displayed to end users when their emails are rejected? We're having an issue where a user thinks that they have send an email, where in reality it has been silently dropped/rejected with making them aware. Cheers

Just tested this. And from the start menu if i start to type "\\computername\c$" i can access the c drive

Any ideas where i would find that? I can find one for internet explorer, but shouldn't it be file explorer or a global security policy? Can't see the forest because of the trees!

Hi all, Sure this is something in nothing. I'm sure i have to add my domain into a trusted location, i just can't remember for the life of me. Reverting to a direct shared location fixes this issue. HOwever i really need it to be a DFS location. Any help would be great! Cheers all.

To keep both my DFS shares in sync. I'm retiring a physical server and have created a Virtual file server added as a dfs member. I was hoping that dfsr would sync the files over, which it has done. However i'm finding that the replica isn't fast enough. So if a file is saved on server A a student might connect to server B and the dsfr hasn't synced the file over yet.

I'm having an issue with the DFS-R not replicating fast enough or not at all. I've just changed a setting to force one of the two DFS server as the "First among targets". Wondering if Server 2016's Storage replica would be a better option instead of DFS-R with use with my DFS shares. Not even sure it's possible. Both server's in question are datacenter.

Our utm safe search only seems to support the main search engines, Google, Bing yahoo etc Didn't know that i could have used that option. Thanks for the info. We're happy with just blocking duckduckgo site wide as we're a Google site so set that as our first search engine option.

Are you using the Google password sync app to maintain both AD and Google passwords? thanks

We found it also bypassed safesearch and students were exposed to adult based images.

We've used Gsuite for about 5 years now and use AD sync to create accounts. We don't use the password sync app and also don't have a web based domain controller. With the release of Google new File Stream, i've once again wanted to look at how to setup the users to be able to log into a domain machine, and have their google account automatically sign in. Is this actually possible?, anybody doing this? I've looked a SSo before but kinda got confused as it seemed to suggest that you sign in once manually, and all the Google services like youtube will automatically sign you in also. Any pointers would be great as i'd really like the streamline this a little more. Cheers all

I've just completed a couple of inplace upgrades to server 2016 (I know i'm brave, #backups!) on some of our older VM servers. Did about 5 in total, no issues at all except one. I noticed that a task triggered event didn't complete, so had a look in task scheduler. All my tasks are missing! I have managed to find them in the c:/windows/system32/Tasks_Migrated folder. However, when i try and import them i get a "a task with this name already exists error" I've had a google and found issues similar, but nothing that has work so far. Anybody else come across this before? Thanks Geekers!

Thanks i'll give that a try now. I purposefully skipped that one as it doesn't list anything after 8.1 as a supported OS. Now i'm wondering what else i've missed!

We are currenlty testing windows 10 GPOs in our test lab. On our windows 7 machines with 7 only GPOs (WMI filters), users are unable to access the local machines disk via \\computername\c$ (C: is hidden in file explorer) or any other location for that matter eg \\file-server\d$ as they get a pop saying that its disabled. On the windows 10 machines, users are able to access the local machines c:\ in file explorer via \\computername\c$ (C: is hidden in file explorer) and when trying to access a server share eg \\file-server\d$ as they get confirm your user credentials (which they don't have.) sure i'm just over looking a gpo here but can't see the forest because of the trees! Anybody got any pointers please?

Assuming the network config of the Hyper-v host is done and on the domain. if it was mine i'd backup the VMs (We use veeam) then do a live migrate to the new host. No down time. edit, sorry just noticed you have two Virtual DCs. We have a dedicated physical DC off the Hyper-v. I'd recommended have one physical DC, but i know other are fully Virtual.
