  1. Here's my deployed https: certs for my XG. only affecting Google services. lots of issues this morning still
  2. my sophos xg cert is valid until 2023
  3. We've just upgraded from 200/200 to 1000/1000. Before the update, we were saturating the line (hence the update). They haven't actually finished the update yet (another visit is needed for the back up line). But initial tests show we're getting 100 down and 1000 up. I'm worried that IPS is restricting throughput, but that doesn't explain why we're currently slower....... What speed do you actually get on your Sophos XG and gig combo?
  4. UPDATE: I've added mail.google.com to our https cert exceptions which fixes the issue. I'm still confused why it stopped working though?
  5. starting today, all our users are unable to access their Gmail accounts. The error relates to the mail.google.com cert date has expired, Sophos XG cert still valid I have confirmed the HTTPS cert we push out to our users is still valid which it is. Somethings expired today, just not sure how i fix it. Here's some screens, any ideas?
  6. We're looking at the Sophos Switches and some from fs.com
  7. Yeah We turn our pcs off every night with triggers at 7:30pm and 9pm. We use our ABtutor instance to do this. We did have it set earlier but people didn't like to click the "abort shutdown" button if prompted.
  8. Ok so DHCP it is. So, this CCTV network is physically standalone. I have a Unifi edge switch ES-8xp which is DHCP capable. What hardware are you guys running DHCP on for your CCTV networks? assuming it not on the same network as your DHCP servers Cheers
  9. Hi all, Long story short, we have a CCTV network (totally standalone on its own hardware not connected to the school data network) where we've had a switch failure. These are "managed switches" but we have no, zero, non, zip network documentation for them. Everything works, just need a replacement switch. Now that i've taken over the CCTV system, i feel it needs doing properly along with documentation. I'm currently mapping the connected devices and everything has static ips. The switches and cameras. We have about 200 cams. Would you recommend i just have Static IPs on the switches and have something running a DHCP service for the cams? Or should i just have everything static. and document every camera? What would you recommend. How do you do it? Cheers
  10. same here yesterday and i also referenced this thread.
  11. https://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/NEW_M
  12. Thought Synology was now chargeable. We might need to change our QNAP soon then. What about SAAS. I looked at backupify at one point it they all seemed really expensive.
  13. Hi all, We have a hybrid setup here with a file server and Google Drive/Shared Drives. We want to start using Google to store some of our operational and policy data. I've highlighted the need to back up this data to protect us against cyber threats/malicious intent/human error. What do you use or recommend. Are you able to disclose the cost? Thanks in advance.
  14. But the uk data center was unaffected by the "major" outage with a 100% availability/uptime It could be something to due with the heat or fires that are currently happening in euro land. Just odd that they (Bromcom) can't just say issue X was caused by Y, this is or isn't related to the performance issues you've been experiencing. When we ask about it, they just say book a job with our support team. When i look at the their forum or known issues section, it's just users requesting support on how to dos or general queries. The service status page just says - It was broken, now its not. There was an issue with a widget that caused slowness for some users last week. Why did this happen, will it happen again, what has been done to ensure it doesn't happen again. Is it due the load on the data centers, is it out of your hands, are things going to get better, how are you addressing these issues.
  15. For the benefit of your customers that users this forum, post it here....... Yes i agree
  16. We asked this question before we signed. They said that their infrastructure can be dynamically scaled so that new customer can be catered for without affecting existing users. They also said their "world wide" data centers can cater for data center site outages so customers weren't affected. Not sure how many UK based data centers they are in, but i'm sure with GDPR it said something about keeping data within the UK. Not sure of the legal technicalities of that tho. but hopefully their multiple uk centers.
  17. Yes, but in their defence they did update the service status page a lot and listened to aspects of what people were saying they wanted to see. Not sure if the 10% thing was changed to trigger status changes.
  18. we do, that's not the reason for this post. I think Bromcom needs to publicly talk to its customer base and keep them in the loop.
  19. For us, we weren't affected by the critical system outage yesterday (5pm, but didn't affect the UK ) We've had "performance issues" on and off since we Migrated from SIMs approx 18 Months now. Bromcom say performance issues as it only affects a "less than 10% of users". But if you're in the 10%, in my option it's an outage. That being said, the difference between SIMs and bromcom is Day and night, and i wouldn't go back to SIMs. However, our senior staff here are keeping a close eye on this as if it doesn't improve, they will look elsewhere. here's a link to their service status page for the last 90 days. https://status.bromcomcloud.com/
  20. It seems performance issues is slang for "well its working in country X so its not down, just you can't use it in the UK"
  21. This post is aimed at bromcom support, but i've posted it public for everyone's benefit - Interesting outage @ 5pm last night. Is this something to do with the temperature. Will you be disclosing what happened? Our senior staff here are really interested it what is happening with bromcom. We seem to be having lots of outages and performance issues recently. Bromcom is light years ahead of SIMs. It has evolved more in the first year of us having it than SIMs did in my 15 years of using it.....However, its been "Down" more times in the first year of use than SIMs ever had in those 15 years. I understand that a "partial" outage doesn't affect everyone. But a partial outage for one user, out a full outage for another if you can't log on or its so slow it's unusable. I'm really worried about it long term. What reasurances can Bromcom give us to put us at ease that these issues are being addressed. Cheers

I once walked past one of the rooms here we normally use and noticed a man in there at the table. As we we made eye contact, i did the head nod thing and he did the same. Got back to the office and asked my colleague who he was. "Not sure who you're on about". Went back to the room nobody there...... checked the CCTV, you can clearly see me acknowledge nobody sat in the chair..........
  24. You gone through this? https://form826027.typeform.com/to/UEeNXu2v?typeform-source=www.canva.com
  25. We kids already have a Google account. I enabled SSO and setup SAML in our Google admin panel. The users could then just click on "Sign in with Google" and they are added to our Canva domain automatically.
