Following on from the sucess of http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/229872-tech-spotters-v2-0-a.html What about a movie variant? RULES: 1) No Google (or other search engines) 2) If nobody knows the answer, the poster will give a clue (this could be in the form of a not too obvious image) 3) No Google (or other search engines) 4) If you guess correctly, its your turn. I'll go first..... “You're gonna need a bigger boat.”

We have a branding guideline here with regards to font style, colour size etc etc. We have users (both staff and students) editing this when they compose an email. Think Yellows and pinks Is there a way to force a default style in Gmail that can be controlled in the admin panel..... all the pages i look just show how to change fonts as a end-user. Cheers

Can the license provider not issue a temp license file for the new server until the old is downed? then transfer the license file? We had an issue here where we have to spin up a new print-server vm and config it whilst our old one was online. We got a temp licence for 30 days iirc

Sophos Firewall in education
Jaan replied to Genesis123's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We have had a Sophos firewall in some shape or form for i think almost 10 years here. Starting with the "UTM" devices to our current "XG" it's been a great experience. A very steep learning curve initially. That being said, over the years as we've become familiar with Sophos and it's services, we have added additional modules to add extra functionality. We currently have; Firewall (with fullguard) Advanced protection Endpoint (Client AV) Advanced Server Protection (Server AV) Wireless module (wireless controller, with 47 APs) Mobile management (For our Chromebooks) and we are currently looking and the new "edge switches" for top to bottom protection. Yes it has it annoyances (Sophos STAS), but i think it's great on the whole. EDIT: only real issue we had was it deciding not to clear out of data SSL certs........ Sophos remoted into the device and fixed the issue for us, explaining it was a bug in the recently updated firmware. It will be fixed in the next release. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/229187-unable-access-mail-google-com-cert-expired-sophos-xg.html -

As title really, new Core switches due soon. Do you guys have STP/MSTP enabled on just your access edge layer or both core/edge. The core will have dual AGG links to each edge switch. Sure i've seen somewhere that having it on the core is a no no if you have agg links....... just thought i'd ask here to see what everybody else does. Cheers

Adobe user-sync ad account and "read only" permissions
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
Anybody using Adobe user sync, care to have a look at which AD groups its a member of please? I think our "Domain users" group may have had its permissions changed at some point in the past. Adobe had a look today on a remote session and pretty much confirmed that that was the more likely scenario. They said that the user sync tool needs read access as a minimum, Domain users allows that....... but not in my case. So that out of our support remit......... -

Adobe user-sync ad account and "read only" permissions
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
Checked the GPOs can't see anything that standout... I have managed to try and do a custom query in AD: Source: https://blog.expta.com/2008/02/create-saved-query-that-displays-group.html As my administrator account, the query get results..... as my Domain user account, i get nothing! so there's defo an issue. That being said, i can manually browse AD as a domain user and see group memberships...... but can't do queries....... stumped -

How to allow only UK based IP addresses to login to Our Google Domain
Jaan replied to Jaan's topic in Cloud Services
That's great as we are thanks for that... i'll have a read. I'm hoping to enable this for just students as our staff have 2-step.... and sometimes works overseas..... visit other school for example and need to log in. I hope i can do this via OU and its not just a site-wide settings. Thanks for the pointer -
