https://www.saashub.com/class-charts-status#issues reports it's been having issues since before 8am. Our staff were going to have to do "paper" registers, but then they remembered we still have SIMS and can take the register there.... however now dawned on them that cause Class Charts only reports back AM/PM session to SIMS, it will update is someone is marked later for registration but here for lesson 1 as "present" (assuming CC is back up in 15 mins)

Are you able to set different retention periods in G-Suite like you can in 365? We have majority of staff on 12 months, but roles like HR/Finance/Head Teacher have 36 month for issues like mentioned above. We also recommend that e-mail is not a file storage system so important content should be printed to PDF and kept as a file.

We've had the School Nurse groups having to use their own 4/5G Hotspot as we've had VPN's blocked on our BYoD for years. Every now and then when the staff change they bring it up but have to carry on with their own WiFi (doesn't help when they get put into areas of the site where there is no signal, but for the bulk vaccinations the room has good signal)

You can choose to not provide your users with an Exchange licence within the Apps which will prevent Outlook from working as they will get a message saying they don't have an e-mail account. Personally I'd prefer to migrate e-mails over to 365 as you then have full control over the mail server settings etc. I'd look to at least move staff mail accounts over, and just have students recreated empty (saves on cost)

Not sure what you mean by wanting to start at the top. For me and our users it shows the icon of the Team/SharePoint site same as it does on our SharePoint Recent webpage. When you select the site (such as Cover Staff Resources) it shows the document library the same as normal. Not sure when MS updated it in the Office365 apps as there wasn't anything on the release notes, but it's better than the previous list for our users.

Sites/SharePoint now show as the "Quick Access" for us under the OneDrive, which is more in line with how they see the information via the Web Interface

I hated counting the vouchers. It was always a case of after counting up the several thousand we got the "fun" of looking through the list of the RM kit we could get and normally falling short of vouchers for stuff that was actually helpful. Did get some software via it though back when we used CD's

To be honest, most of the work was done by @DJ-1701 when he created our 2 GIMP templates and put the instructions together, so all we do is tweak it each time a new school joins and recreate the files Sometimes wish we could keep the same logon wallpaper instead of switching every fortnight, but does have the benefit of being visual indication that a computer hasn't been rebooted recently

We have a template setup in Gimp to drop all 7 school logo's in the MAT, plus our MAT logo in the correct place based on if the background image is a 4:3 or 16:9 ratio, then we generate a few thousand files based off Windows Spotlight files we download every 12 months. Every other Friday we when have a script that randomly picks one of the pre-generated files and drops it onto the DC's at each site so when the bootup powershell kicks in, it copies it down then uses that as a base image to create a workstation bespoke one with the school moto's, workstation name etc similar to BGInfo, but it also checks the monitor resolution so the right file is used and images don't look stretched

Hi Brenda. That was suggested by another member, but was already enabled. It was the fact that the engineers had left Tracking Permission on the copier in the default off status. Turning it on this morning resulted in copy job logs getting reported by the reprographics tech, so some departments are going to be upset when their monthly bills start being correct from now on
-
It was installed via the remote tool if I remember correctly.

If you have a 365 Tenancy, they moved the ISO downloads for VLSC into there Billing -> Your Products -> Volume Licencing -> View Downloads and Keys Long as your account has Admin rights in 365, and is the same e-mail address as you had for VLSC you should be able to download the files. I don't see Win 11 International in my list, just Win 11 Education/Enterprise normal and N

Found the issue, thanks to the guide @pklump posted. Tracking Permission had not been enabled on the copier under Device Management > Configuration > Print Volume Use Limitation. Can now see our Reprographics tech as got jobs logged against a departmental area this morning after activating it

Track & control copying and Track & control scanning has been enabled since we installed Papercut MF on all the queues, which is why I wasn't sure if it was a limitation on the machine (doesn't help that we only have the 1 Ricoh in the MAT cause I wanted something that could do over 100ppm and Kyocera couldn't provide that without going to the very very large and expensive models)
-
The engineers managed to install it remotely after a lot of fun talking to support since we had to disable some of the login functions on the unit, but it is the SmartSDK version. I want to get version 24 of papercut installed next month anyway, so might see if they can pop in and redo it completely since it's normally a quiet time for them.

Copier(Classic) is what we use when going via the Device functions, but doesn't log anything back. Will see if I can get our engineers to try and resolve it over the summer
-
Our engineers were mainly trained on Kyocera kit, and at the time we were the only site on their patch with a 8310, which is why I though I'd check if anyone else has it reporting copy jobs. I can see it's tracked all the pages for the user account on the actual photocopier itself, but not fed it back along with the departmental account into Papercut.
-
Since we got our Ricoh Pro 8310S last Easter, we've noticed that any copying done on the device does not report back to Papercut, which is a bit of an issue since it's our primary Reprographics device. All our other copiers are Kyoceras and behave fine, so guessing it's either a limitation with the copier or a setting kicking around somewhere that needs adjusting. Anyone else got a Pro 8310S that happily reports the copies/scans back to Papercut? Thankfully at least it's find reporting the prints sent from the PC.

I did a fresh install of MDT at the local primary last week (on a 2019 server), and only "gotcha" is needing to install the Windows 10 ADK so that you get the x86 image so that MDT doesn't crash when you try and update the deployment properties. Other than that it happily deployed and installed Windows 11 23H2 April build without needing to adjust the UEFI/BIOS detection (but will be dropping that on later this week just to make sure the older non UEFI kit still works). I mounted the ISO and selected to copy all the files and didn't just point it to the install.wim. Eventually it will stop working, but for now there should be nothing preventing it from still working. We also use it at most of our other sites to push out the Autopilot hybrid builds for our stations since InTune itself can't install the OS if it wasn't already on the device (it's fine if its new hardware with the OS recovery partition intact)

Split a school 365 tenancy.. register a new tenancy
Boredguy replied to password1234's topic in Cloud Services
Far simpler to create the new tenancy with the a onmicrosoft.com address, and then add your custom domain later. Then you just move the current domain name over during your migration process -

When I created our new Trust Tenancy, I set it up with a standard OnMicrosoft.com address for the school... so in your case [email protected] Once that was done and you've gone through getting licences etc done you can then add your .sch.uk domain as long as it's not linked to you existing tenancy. If it is, then you would move it over after you have migrated your users data. -
If it keeps saying its trying to download an update but doesn't do anything, check if the url is the capita one... if so like mentioned above, stop and restart the Solus 3 deployment service and you should be able to then cancel that download and the next in the queue should come out. I've had several calls raised with our SIMS support team over the last 2 years trying to remove some updates from our queue that no-longer exist since it's looking to the old capita server instead of the EES one and it never lasts more than a day.

I'm guessing the users haven't clicked the option to Switch to the new version, which just launches the new app and still has access to all the same Teams/Chats etc that was in the old version. We deployed out Teams v2 to all our stations at the start of Jan (still having fun getting classic Teams to disappear but thats another matter). If users are scared they might loose stuff, they can always view the new v2 Teams via the browser (https://teams.microsoft.com/v2/) while still using the old app.

if it's for the entire school, then it will be a lot =(
