  1. You can force Powerpoint 2016 to not use the presenter mode via GPO, and so far on our 3 ActivPanel v6's we've not had it go into extended mode, but stays happily in clone/duplicate. We are running Windows 10 on those stations though with DisplayPort -> HDMI for the panel and VGA for the local monitor
  2. An alternative would be to try and foster relations at another school and ask your NM and their NM to meet at each site to see how their system is setup and discuss it instead of an expensive audit. I've had several local schools come over previously (and visited some schools the other side of the country before) and every time we've found either something they were doing that was better or vice versa. Sometimes an query from a peer is easier to take on board.
  3. Can you narrow down the types of issues you have been having? Do you know if you are running an on site filtering solution or a online one provided by RM (such as Smoothwall, RM Safetynet etc. Your filter page would likely say what system it is your school is running) Is it an ADSL2 connection or a fibre, and was it the same style as you have moved from. Going from a dedicated Fibre circuit to ADSL2 for example could give you issues.
  4. Be read only is easy enough (PDF or permissions). The other 3 not really as you can always print screen the entire screen regardless of the restrictions on the document if someone really wanted a image version of it.
  5. Well unless your FoI request was specifically targeted to Primary schools, you previous post neglected to account for the fact that a significant number of us are Secondary school support so some of your assumptions of IT provisions for use in cases such as these may be slightly skewed. But until the tribunal has made a decision I guess it's all quite a mute point.
  6. Sorry, but not all schools teach KS2 so do not have the equipment or the infrastructure to have an isolated piece of equipment for the odd FoI request that requires a weblink. We'd rather spend our limited funds on Staff costs and teaching the students.
  7. Put switch into cabinet and put a patch lead in to link to existing switch. Assuming you have already preconfigured the switch, move the uplink over from old switch to new one so it has another hop when it's a quietish time. Move other port connections over until old switch has been emptied. Repeat for other switchs as the NIC should only take a couple of seconds to come back up.
  8. When we first used 365, we had to set up a UPN suffix for our school domain name (instead of xxx.internal) and set the users to have it as well as their school e-mail address in the mail field. We only use the proxyaddress if a user has 2 e-mail accounts (such as an alias for a name change)
  9. Well direct line of access isn't a big issue as you can have junction boxes at key locations (we normally have one at each end of the external runs). However it depends on how many extensions are available on your switchboard at present. Although I run all our internal/external cabling now, it's normally just because we are relocating our existing lines elsewhere. For new extensions we get the support company to come out and just program the exchange and make the final cable connection in the panel.
  10. Is running a normal 10/20 core phone line between the two buildings not an option? Depending on the distance and if you have a duct in place it's about £1.50 per meter for 20 core cable
  11. Once the domain is verified, as long as you don't ask for the MX record to be updated your e-mail will still get delivered to your existing mail server. Don't worry too much about the spf error, as we've had the same warning for over a year now.
  12. Yep that's the one, and once it was added the domain verification should let you complete the process. Only once it's been verified did you need SWGfL to add the additional DNS settings
  13. There is a specific TXT file and value you need to get them to add which should be on the domain setup page
  14. Have you made sure you have .Net 4 framework installed on the Windows 7 station?

@just_david did the same thing recently as I'd not been in WoW since Legions dropped. Only took 4 days (spread over 3 weeks) to get from lvl 1 to 60 with a new toon.
  16. Only problem with having it change in extra time is it's more options that would need to be entered at the start of the exam and you would need to ensure that the computer/laptop time is correct before the exam (and some of us are running it on very old kit that has failed bios batteries )
  17. Explains why I turned up at a closed Drive Thru last night went I out to get the evenings takeaway. Had to get a pizza instead
  18. Faster to do a fresh install and copy than go through the multiple upgrades if the OS was compatible. The changes in 2003 to 2008 made it better to go the clean route. 2008 onwards it's not so bad but depends on what was running on the server and how easily it would be to reconfigure
  19. Yep we've got 11 of them recently. Not bad little units if you ok with 4:3 ratio (which we are)
  20. Well I'm not making any changes unless our librarians can tell me it's having a problem. So far I've had the whitelist sent through 3 times but never with anything to say something won't load.
  21. Only for Italy and Austria first though.
  22. Certainly if you have 365 linked to your android phone, you can set an option when it doesn't pull messages, but it's not set by default.
  23. Not sure you can stop people sending/receiving e-mails. I get round it by never logging into my e-mail soon as I walk out the door
  24. I only had to provide account number and sort code, and a name so it displayed on my statement.
  25. Students can e-mail our staff direct, but our mailing lists will only accept messages from accounts that are members of our all staff group to ensure students/third parties are unable to use it.
