  1. Amazon Web Services, well worth a look.
  2. 2 was made by a different company and I hated it. Infinite is one of the best games I have ever played! Take your time and take in the scenery and characters. Already have a little crush on Elizabeth!
  3. I think what you are looking for is a leasing scheme. Apple don't do it directly but they have a number of partners that do. We got 1200 iPads at £20 a month for two years then £50 final payment. This included insurance, apple care, £25 iTunes Credit and Case.
  4. Dont use ESXi. Use Hyper-V, installed simply on top of the 2008 machine. It will do everything you need, its completely free and has advanced features such as snapshots
  5. Forefront Threat Management Gateway and/or Unified Access Gateway is the new ISA. Very good!
  6. We have a similar problem with Cloudon. Its because it doesn't support transparent proxy
  7. I have £30 a month Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro. 89mbps down/20 mbps up on an average day. Often download from usenet, watch NFL HD stream and play online game at the same time
  8. I would be very wary of a secondary school that at present has no IT technician. You may be walking into a giant mess. However any experience is good experience. See if they have an old server that is mothballed in a cupboard somewhere. Get it out and put Server 2008 R2 on it, break it, fix it, break it some more. Just experiment as much as possible, but not on your live environment. All is good for your CV.
  9. You need to future prrof mate. I would only buy projectors with HDMI these days. Also consider LED projectors.
  10. WE had very slow backup jobs to disc. We recreated the backup to disc folder and everything fixed itself over the next few weeks.
  11. Yes, it is sooo easy to get answers out of a hysterical and terrified three year old whose mother is motionless on the floor. They did well to get what information they did.

    10.8 server

Workgroup Manager works fine on 10.7 Server. As does all the server Admin tools. The Server.app is crap to be honest. Creating or modifying a sharepoint is a crap shoot.
  13. We were in a similar situation when we moved into our BSF school four years ago. Four years later CC4 still performs as poorly as you describe. Get used to watching the "Please Wait" screen for hours and hours.
  14. Buy a copy of Lion via the app store. Image and restore. Make sure you buy enough copies of the Mountain Lion VL when it comes out and you will be fine. We run Snow Leopard on Lion generation iMacs and Apple Ok'd it.
  15. The comment earlier about there is no way to track what users do on iPads is not true. We are using smoothwall and doing IP auth for students and U&P auth via the smoothwall app for guests.
  16. These five changes are the stupidest:- Start Menu has been removed and replaced with Start Screen! File operations like Rename, Delete can no longer be undone for UAC-protected locations. The ability to completely deconfigure UAC and run with administrator privileges full time has been removed. Device Manager no longer shows Non-Plug and Play Drivers/hidden devices. The menu bar in Windows Explorer has been removed and replaced with the unproductive Ribbon interface
  17. Advantages include Notes, easy to take minutes during meetings, apps to manage job list (I use Remember the Milk), quick email, SIMS app (emerge), Lync app, VMWare control and monitoring app, HP & Dell management apps, AD User management app, Server density server monitoring app, text editors for quick html/content changes and dropbox app for quick access to documents on the go. Disadvantages include 'I will just listen to some music...shit where did my afternoon go!'
  18. The only way to stop movie piracy is to do what iTunes did for MP3s; offer a cheap, easy, instant and reliable download service.
  19. Use AD without DNS integration. Setup two DNS zones on the same server. DHCP with one scope.
  20. The simulations are only based on the final configuration. You can make the changes in any order or with any amount of clicks and it shouldn't make a difference. I am a few steps further on from you by the sound of it. I managed to pass my 290 and 291 first time but I am mighty struggling with 70-293! My advice is to set yourself a test environment at home. You cant cover anything like enough using live servers. You cant dcpromo a live DC for example! You can get a HP microserver for £200 that will run VMWare with a couple of servers on it. Either that or the much simpler option of VMWare workstation on a standard PC. PM me if you have any questions!
  21. You dont need iTunes to play music or watch your puchased TV Shows, shortly films will be able to stream also. Also iPlayer is on the horizon and Netflix is already on there.
  22. I agree, unlikely to be the firewall, Anything in the event logs? Any services stopped? Check for the IPSec service. If that errors it will go into Blocked mode and block all traffic just like a faulty firewall would. Also check DNS has the correct records for the Domain Controllers, How to verify that SRV DNS records have been created for a domain controller. Can you access \\domainname\netlogon and/or \\domainname\sysvol?
  23. That was what eventually caused me to stop playing. Unfortunately it was too late to save my degree
  24. Can you install the Advanced Intel Drivers on a notebook and roam around. There is an option to view which AP you are connected to and which are in range. Should help you determine if the Etasc AP's are passing off to each other correctly. Then compare this to the working ones.
  25. What do you actually plan on hosting on the DFS?
