You need to start by looking at the brackets you already have and their distance from the board. With a bit of luck there's something on the market that'll fit and project the same size from the same distance. I would probably start by having an audit and finding out what's on the machines. Then seeing what you can reconsile against your paperwork. Anything you can't find licences for you need to contact the publishers and see if they have any record of you. It's also worth speaking to your burser and seeing if they will probably have record of software purchases.

File permissions shouldn't need changing, they main topic you'll have to look into is Group Policy. Lots of schools now use it to lock down their workstations. You however will have to forgot WinSuite's logging and auditing functions. Since the last time I did anything with WinSuite was in 2001, I don't know exactly what functionaly you'll be missing. You'll also need to work out a method to only apply the group policy to the netbooks and not the whole network. Do I dare ask why the head of ICT is so attached to WinSuite?

We've got a lecture hall being built. Our preferred solution is about £26k.

It depends on the layout of the hall and also the level of flexibility you require. The trouble with that sort of arrangement is you're expected to 'set it up' every time it's used. It's also not idea if you want to get a long way back to project a big image. The end result is the equipment gets used less. In our hall we have a ceiling mounted projector with a dedicated desktop PC. We've also got an AMX control panel which controls the projector, dvd/video player and the sound. The net result is a system so easy teachers and students can just go and use it without giving any notice. The equipment is probably used daily.

It's like a normal projector to make it go bigger you've got to move it further from the screen. If I've read the details for that bracket correctly (they're a bit vague), the biggest it can go with that bracket it 60". I'd get an AV company in to come up with some ideas.
