Some of our SLT like to print a daily calendar from office 365. We've noticed in Chrome that when they click print and it gives the preview in Chrome, the headings of the events do not print out. But when they go to do it a second time they are there and print. It does this for each different day. Has anyone seen similar behaviour or have a fix? Thanks

Am I correct in thinking that consent for Sixth Form (Students 16 years and older) we need to get the consent from them? Parent consent obtained at the beginning of their school career wouldn't be enough? This is in relation to photos for website etc

Is anyone using Google Forms to collect the initial consent? We are looking at the SIMS Lite parent app but think we will get more uptake of initial consent if they don't have to create a login etc Was just going to provide a google form asking for their name, student name, reg group, tick this box for consent etc

Hi Arthur, Really sorry to be pestering again. When I try run the x86 version I get the error cannot find path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Drive File Stream' My File stream files are in 'C:\Program Files\Google\Drive File Stream' Any way you can adapt it for this? I've tried using the site in the readme but can't get my head around it. Thanks

This question has two points really but didn't think it warranted two posts. How do you allow students to plug phones in to get photos off for something like photography? iPhones just don't show for students so they always have to come to us. Do you have to have itunes installed? We are banning USB drives for all staff. Our digital photography department have raised the issue that they need access to memory cards for copying students photos / coursework images onto the network. Will I have to allow them USB access but strict policy (as there will be anyway) in place or is there a way to ban USB but allow memory cards? Thanks

I asked about this very scenario on a training event I went on and they said that as long as we had consent when it was printed it is ok but that it would need to not be reproduced and not be used for an extensive time. The example I used was we tend to print prospectuses in batches for 2 years. If consent was withdrawn after print. They said we could still use it for the two years but nothing like 5. Said a common sense approach can justify it. Not sure if this is right but it's what we were told.

Has anyone who has migrated over had problems with the fortinet vpn? When we try connect to it, it connects fine but then won't let us remote onto another computer or server via IP address or name.

Where can I configure Google File Stream to use a proxy? We were on proxy-less broadband but now have one but I cannot see how I tell Google File Stream what the proxy is. Thanks

That would make things massively easier, I thought the Data Protection Bill had lowered the age of consent to 13 years old? Does that mean we can ask parents for consent up to sixth form then? From what I can see the Data Protection Bill only refers to the age of 13 for consent with Information Society Services which are defined as "The Regulations refer to an "information society service". This is defined as "any service normally provided for remuneration at a distance, by means of electronic equipment for the processing (including digital compression) and storage of data, at the individual request of a recipient of the service", which would not include schools if I'm right? Is there anywhere definitive that says whether schools need to get consent at 13 or 16? Thanks

Just coming back to this in respect to GDPR. We used to just do an opt out but are going to shortly be sending a letter out regarding giving consent with tick box. Does anyone have an example of their photo consent form which is GDPR compliant? With the consent age being 13 we are looking to get consent from parents in years 7 and 8 and consent from students in year 9 and above. Is anyone else following this practice? Thanks

Having a great day with this here. For schools that have switched with Chromebooks. We are being told we have got to put them all on an IP reservation and have that range applied to a single filter policy. Is this what other schools have had to do? Previously staff and students have logged in and been able to get the same filter policy as the computers which worked so well. It is going to be so restrictive having them all on one policy. Thanks

Is it possible to configure a Ruckus SSID to only dish out IP addresses from a certain IP range? e.g. 10.24.94.0-255? For one specific SSID? We have a ZD3000 Thanks
