Last week we visited the Luxmuralis a light and sound experiance display in Durham Cathedral. These are some of my takes. One of them was published in The Northern Echo newspaper.

They will even remote in and help you get setup, as @NicholasEsping says very helpful, just raise a ticket and ask them, its in their interests after all as you may well become a paying customer.

Smoothwall Radius with unifi APs and Server 2016
JATSO replied to bodminman's topic in Wireless Networks
Wouldn't mind that as well please if you don't mind. TIA -
All depends how close you are to the SLT, in the 4 cases that I have been part of a new build project I have been asked to put a wish list in, we were given a budget and I worked with that bought what the head teacher agreed and collated the invoices forwarded them onto the finance team. I was also involved in onsite meetings if it concerned IT. The one time they never asked was when they decided that the CCTV supplier would put their own huge server rack on wheels in the server room, it took up a 3rd of the room floor space for 1 rack server and router looked ridiculous and was a pain to work around. Always try and keep some of the existing kit if its worth keeping and you have the space, you never know when you will need a workaround for an issue that will surely come.

That's not what I said, or was implying, In most cases its a polite call from one tech to another. I have been called myself its no problem, but its up to the last person in the job if they want to be helpful, granted some don't but I am not one of them. I have a good memory and generally remember most stuff I have implemented or learned. If things have changed and should be or I have forgotten, then that's it. There is no harm in being helpful.
-
Get the school to contact the ex technician, they will have details as they would have paid him\her. Then its a track and trace job if the tech has moved on.

They are going to use the schools Facebook page which is more targeted towards parents from a link on the school website which suits me as I don't do the Facebook page, the SLT do. I suspect that I will be helping them edit the video's before posting the link to the Facebook page. Thanks for the pointers.

Its more about what the school is doing in PE at the school and the awards we have won.

Thanks, Yes I thought is would be easy as were a Google school, but I think the cons may out way the pro's if they are can be commented on, however the school runs a Facebook page which for which I have no part in or wish too. I am also looking at Vimeo as another school uses that to embed the link. OneDrive\GDrive maybe an option its more of a promotional type of video for the school rather than whats going on. Thanks

That was bound to happen really. Do it late at night is probably the best time unless they are down for essential maintenance:closed_2:

Hi All, Does anyone working a in school post school videos created in school on Youtube? Pros and Cons? The school website will only links to a video rather than host, due to file size. I would be interested in any links to those that do. Thanks

Second for Davinci Resolve Free without the bells and whistles if you want the bells and whistles buy the full version with a one off payment. Unlike Premier Pro you have to subscribe. If you want to learn how to use the interface then I recommend a watch of these youtubers, they made by time spent messing about so much easier. https://www.youtube.com/c/MrAlexTech - A fellow brummie who is also a teacher. https://www.youtube.com/user/CaseyFaris777 https://www.youtube.com/user/CaseyFaris777 or you could go https://www.youtube.com/c/BlackmagicDesignOfficial

I bet they earn millions in interest sitting on the money they build up that is just credit owed back to their customers. Never let energy payment credit build up, demand it back, its better in your account than theirs.

According to the energy suppliers regulator on the radio 4 (yes I listen to radio 4, must be an age thing ) today you will be paying more if you don't have a DD, how that is fair or works I don't know.

Turned our heating on for the first time since March the other night to test issues and warm up for a couple of hours. Test went ok just waiting for the bill now.

A smart meter using 8.760Kwh per year they reckon they only use 1Kwh per year> https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/experts/article-4607552/How-electricity-smart-meters-use-cost-run.htm When our first one stopped working and sending data EDF decided an engineer call out was needed to fix the issue 12 months later they sent an engineer out who condemned the old smart meter and replaced it with the same model and said that will start showing data in about 2 days, well 4 months later its still not working, and he said it works of Bluetooth to talk to the main meter and you can have up to 8 of the smart meters in one household, (probably for flats) well why would we want 8 none working smart meters using power to display a blank screen at 24w per day. They emailed us to say they are still not receiving data, that's because I have unplugged it because it displays nothing and is a pointless waste of 24w per day.
