Hi The way wake-on-lan works mean your switches need to be configured to allow magic packets through. However if got a client switched on the same subnet then we can use that to get around the switch dropping the packet. The term you need to look for on your switch depends on model etc I believe common name is "subnet directed broadcasts". Give support a call or email if having trouble and we can help you get it sorted. Regards Russell Edit: p.s Way Wake on lan works within Impero 3 is server sends broadcast if a client on a different subnet then it will also try to find active client on same subnet and then use that PC to send it out as well to make sure the PC comes up etc.

Different situation as work for Impero but the right move. I loved working at my old place but moving to Impero has brought different challenges and made life less stressful. I was just talking to one of the directors. Problem with Network Management is that you are working in evenings as need to work on system when no one on it etc. So you end not switching off however I get chance in evening to switch off from day and certainly lot healthier for it..

It is always a difficult choice to leave a network solution like RM however to say one is better than other is something no one can answer. As it is what solution is best for you? I always remind sales staff here at Impero you need to provide a solution that fits the problems that they are having be that a technical or financial one. Also People will argue for what they know vrs what is useful if you know Vanilla they will argue for that. As some else said reason people use network management tools such as Impero and alike is that they free up time and simplify matters. I think that you need to get balance of both that is where less intrusive tools than RM might be useful. However to say one way or another is better is dangerous road to go down.

In states you have had two programs the laptop for every student program which has been going for about 5-10 years this was state funded devices etc for every student and then for past 1 to 2 years there has been a move towards BYOD. The move towards BYOD has been mainly down to inability to keep the laptop for every student programs running due to cost.

As said for past few years no one way in current situations we can keep up pace of spending on ICT. BYOD of course hit USA about 12 months ago and hitting UK in a big. Anecdotal evidence of Impero customers and other schools/colleges etc certainly proves that. However to be successful you do need some basic requirements.. Regards Russell

Dam Well i have sky sports so no issue unless it go to real ppv i.e pay per race. Saying that I am sure lot more people will use other means to watch the race. Now I wonder what contract Martin and other guys have will Martin move over to Sky... Russ
