One major issue that you will face with InTune is the policies don't apply on first login like they do with AD. You will need to wait or manually sync, then reboot. I can't see how this can work in an IT suite. In terms of app deployment, if you can do it in SCCM you can do it in InTune. It is one of the big downsides with InTune

Open traffic between VLANS (expect BYOD) is a bit of a security concern. I would seriously consider reviewing this at some point. To answer your question, it should be fairly easy. Make sure you test. Also make sure you have everything, don't forget the basics such as SNMP configuration, DHCP Snooping, IP Helpers etc.

It depends. What do you need configuring? For example, are you planning on using ACLS or is an existing firewall managing traffic between your VLANS?

I am using RUM in InTune with a remediation script. It runs every 4 hours. Works pretty well!

I can't see how that would be any less intrusive. The fact you are being recorded is the most intrusive part. Using technology to recognise (not track) is neither here not there.

I am in Australia as well so GDPR doesn’t apply. 🤷♂️ My point was, the same or similar use case could apply in the UK for a school or business. Maybe a school isn’t interested in passing cars but would like to record any human activity at the bike shed.

Interesting discussion. I have recently installed another camera at home and making use of AI features. I have a camera that also captures the street. For the purposes of recording, I have configured it to ignore motion events in the street, apart from humans in the area of my mailbox. If anyone is tampering with it I should get them recorded. If a car drives past it won't record. If you use these features that aren't actually used to profile people, I assume it would be a different matter.

Something to consider, you need to ensure you get security updates for the hardware. Such as BIOS updates, Drivers and Firmware. With refurbished you’re potentially reducing the time you can obtain these updates. It could mean they are obsolete quicker. I have found Dell seem to be good at providing these fixes way beyond “end of life”.

We have a large fleet of Dell Optiplex Micros. Some are running in very harsh conditions and they have been rock solid.

Stacking is a vendor proprietary thing and varies between vendor. LACP is an industry standard and will (well should) be identical across the board. I have stacked mostly in Cisco and it’s been flawless.
