One of England's largest school academies to go phone-free
FN-GM replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
I haven't worked in a school since 2019. But when I did, phone were banned and I thought this was the norm everywhere. What changed? -
You can use WPA Enterprise with InTune / Radius - We do it for all our devices. This issue is with Windows NPS? There is a limitation in NPS that means the computer has to be Azure AD joined. But using another Radius product such as FreeRadius or Cisco ISE and it will work.
-
This isn't an InTune specific thing, it's like this on Windows 10 & 11 (maybe 8 as well). Use Radius / WPA Enterprise - that would be the way to go outside of small deployments.

Training would be a better option than a dedicated policy. -
This might be the issue. If you're using TV's they won't last. We have 7+ year commercial displays running and work just like the day they did when they were installed.

Thanks for adding this - it works great!

I notice there isn't a forum for Windows Server 2025. It's been out a while now so might be time to crease one? Thanks

Mostly, they are right projectors are old school. I stopped installing them in 2011.

Look at all the CIS policies. They are free and proven to significantly increase security. Also Microsoft have security baseline policies out of the box.

Maybe something in your server VLAN? Your DHCP / DNS? I am trying to figure out where the data is falling over. Maybe do a traceroute?

Wouldn't this fall under an existing policy? There must be one that covers uploading PII to unauthorised third party systems. Maybe expand that policy as it should be broadly covered already. -
Can you ping other devices in other subnets?
-
Is the machine in the 172.16.24.x subnet? If so can you ping something that isn't the internet but outside of that subnet? Has the default gateway been set and can you ping that?

Sounds like this would be a use case to have BGP. -

This is what I would have thought, isn't this a core function of a modern financial system? -

Considering their security issues in recent years, I would question this. -
For security reasons, you shouldn't be managing directly from your endpoint anyway. They should be managed on a Jump Host.
-
I don't see the issue. We have had a RAID card fail, swapped it out and we are up and running again.

We pay for it here. The fee we pay is easily recovered from the automation features. Currently 30% of our service requests are fully automated. -
How about recreating the virtual machines, but attaching the existing disks. You will effectively have a new clean configuration without any data loss.

I don't think they are having a choice, considering some stores (such as airports and railway stations) are not being sold. You can't have 1 brand and 2 owners.

This is a bad idea, a reporting product should only read from the source. What are you trying to achieve?
