Not every school is the same. Some have a teaching style that find iPads and asset some don't. Some schools provide IT the budget some don't. There is no point agruing about it on here.

Personally if it is possible I would pick EIGRP over OSPF. When you have multiple OSPF areas it can be a real pain. Anyway I would use something like OSPF or EIGRP when you have lots of layer 3 devices such as switches and routers that connect via a redundant route. This might happen if you connect lots of physical sites that have their own layer 3 switches, although if you have no redundancy I would use static routes. It might also be used if your client switches are Layer 3. You can then host the VLAN on that switch and not the core. If you interconnect the client switches traffic could be routed without going through the core. Infact in some deployments you might not even need a core.

For that size of network I wouldn't use OSPF. It simply doesn't need it. What are you trying to achieve? I would use VLANS though. I would look at Storage Spaces Direct instead of a SAN. You could have 2 HyperV servers in seperate buildings, replicate the data across them and have full HA.

I don't want to upset the OP here, my response isn't intended to do that. But reading between the lines I am thinking the police would want access in the event there was a serious incident such as Columbine High School massacre. The above wouldn't be an option if it was the case. If there was something like this to happen an instant view inside from a remote point would be extremely useful.

Most people on this site are from the UK and this type of thing is a big no no there. You might struggle to find someone who has first hand experience. However er do have the technical know how here. What system do you have? How do you usually access it?

I would disagree. USB-C is a much better system.

Did you know there is a 25 day backup built into g suite? In addition there is the vault a d you can retain data indefinitely. You could use Rclone with the impersonation feature to download Google Drive data locally.

I still can't see that as a justification for cutting corners.

I think we should keep on topic. The OP isn't looking for data or other advise in regards to the administration of these systems. The OP looking for a technical solution.

They will for most things. But if you have 802.1X it will break if the controller isn't running.

There is an application on the large File Stream thread that resolves this issue. You point the application to the .exe and that finds the current version and opens file stream.

Also when new people stater they can't get hold of anything that was sent previously. With a shared mailbox it is all there.
