Get to finish early throughout the week, not a lot to do (for once!) - WEEE collection, some minor cabling work, might even have time to tidy the office...no doubt something will happen along the way to scupper my plans though.

As discussed on the previous thread, the major difficulty is getting people to give up their cars. Hard enough to get people who can afford them to choose electric over ICE. Will need government legislation to make this happen, which will be full of exempions for various classes of vehicle and will probably not come into force while I'm still commuting every day...

All will be disabled soon...

Does seem excessive. We only have one staff profile of that size, and that's the Art teacher who has lots of high resolution image files for his various projects.

Just watched Le Mans 66, a great film - as CHiLL said, less about the racing and more about the people. Film slightly spoiled by the group of people who'd obviously been in the pub for a few drinks beforehand...

Watched Joker last night. Interesting take on developing the background of comic book characters. Very hard to watch in places - and I'm not talking about the parts where there's graphic violence. Two more trips to the cinema this week too - the local filmhouse has some classics on. Alien on Wednesday and Wicker Man on Thursday!

It's possible - but not easy. It's annoying that Google Drive doesn't have a "copy/move folder" option! I've had to use rclone recently, that was moving files from one folder to another in the same shared drive, but the same principle should apply: https://rclone.org/drive/

Blue cables - 30 x 1m, 20 x 2m Red cables - 8 x 1m Grey/beige - 26 x 1m, 12 x 0.5m Also - 4 x 19" cable management bars, and 1 x 19" shelf. There will still be a few laptops on 7 after January, but they should all be replaced after Easter (or sooner if I can find the time!) - in terms of desktops, all but a handful already upgraded and those left are on te "to do" list. Server is 2012 so a little while left on that! Only got the upgrades approved a couple of weeks ago, after I pointed out that £10k-ish on laptops is better than risking the security of the network. The man with the control of the budgets agreed...

How big are we talking here? You could sign up for a Gmail account (assuming you don't have G Suite at school already), upload the files to Drive and only share them with the requester's email address.

As I understand it, merely mentioning someone's name isn't personal data - otherwise you'd have to disclose every email they were copied into, e.g. on the "Teaching Staff" email list. I went to touch rugby training - as only a few adults turned up, we "helped" with the junior session. That meant (for me) running around, refereeing a load of 12 and 13 year olds. Hard work doesn't quite cover it...

Not at work this week, but had an email from one of the admin staff who said they're all moving into my office! (Only rooms with air con are the ICT suite and my office/server room). Touch rugby training tonight, that's if (a) anyone turns up and (b) we don't get washed away with a thunderstorm...preparing for my first tournament in a while on Sunday, thankfully the forecast is cooler for the weekend. Have tickets for a show in London tomorrow, hoping it cools down a bit. Fortunately it's only a short walk from Euston so no need for the Tube, remember it well from working in London for a year - not a pleasant experience.

I'm amazed that a school with 2 pupils has 7 staff - must be the best pupil to staff ratio in the country!

benc - not sure if you'll see this reply as it was a while ago we discussed this. Have you had any issues with the colour reproduction on the Olivettis? We had ours delivered a couple of weeks ago, and if you photocopy something that's mostly blue it washes out. Tried adjusting the colour balance but it's still not right.

Really enjoyed meeting people yesterday, wish I could have stayed for the meal afterwards but had to get back for work today and it's a fair old drive back!

I'm left handed for pretty much everything except eating. My brother is right handed for everything except eating. He's the weird one, obviously...
