I install the cert manually which is a PITA but its the only way as clodhopper says. We don't intercept things like online shopping, banking or webmail. It would be good to have some sort of captive portal that could automatically sense if the certificate has been installed and then let them browse but I can't imagine that is an easy thing to make happen.

Did you have the files whitelisted in SEP as per Imperos instructions? This is because they are using the same encryption software that virus coders use to avoid detection, at least thats what happened with Eset.

Yeah I totally agree it would be a viable solution and its what I would do for myself, but for my parents I want something turn key which it looks like pcspecialist are the only ones that can provide that. My parents have asked me to get them a laptop and they have given me a reasonable budget of £600. They will use it for emailing, web browsing, viewing photos and videos, skype etc etc. I want something that is going to last them a good while but I'm struggling to find a spec I would be happy with. I've been looking for something along the lines of Core i5, 8GB ram, 250GB SSD, USB 3.0, Dualband Wifi, bluetooth, win 7 or 8. All of the top brands such as Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer etc all have laptops in the price range but not with an SSD or the amount of RAM. I would rather not have to retro fit these items as I want something that is configured and warranted out of the box. I can build what I want on pcspecialist.co.uk for £559 inc VAT and del but I've no idea about their long term reliability.

If you do go down the N route which is still perfectly acceptable, just make sure its dual band N.

I'd allow it, if they abuse then block it and then let them know they only have themselves to blame and if they want to then they can access it at home. I personally block it here because we specialise in Engineering so they have no reason to access it.

I don't currently have a dedicated system but rather a guest account that uses the BYOD radius. What I would like to try out is the Meraki Guest WiFi access built into the APs and using that to do the filtering. Maybe that is something you could explore. Create a new SSID for guests and apply the Captive portal to that, guests are free to make their own accounts and you can assign "Guest Ambassadors" to authenticate their accounts the Meraki APs can then act as the DHCP server too and you can use the built in filtering.

Yes definately keep it under warranty until it needs to be retired. Just to echo what the others have said its the hassle and downtime of sourcing old parts that your warranty company will keep stocks of.

I just got an MS220-8P I've gotta say I could get used to managing my multiple networks via a web browser! Its uplinked to an SG300-52 and it allows me to see all the devices connected to that switch. I just used the WOL tool to wake a PC up thats not connected to the meraki switch over the net which is pretty cool.

I'm almost out of ideas but I'd definitely try changing the DNS ips on an effected PC if you haven't already tried.

Flush the DNS cache from an effected PC.

Restart the DNS service? Are IE and FF also effected? Clear the cache from Chrome.

OK going off that error message alone I would take a look at your DNS settings for your network and internet. Have you changed your DNS servers to your new ISP? You could try using Googles (8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220) servers
