EDU version of Windows does not have the right to install in folders?
kennysarmy replied to kennysarmy's topic in Windows
Just double checked our Task Sequence and there are no custom tasks to remove the store :/ I'll do some testing on group policies. Just odd that it installs fine on some devices. Will also re-image a device it fails on, but guess it'll be fine after that :/ -
EDU version of Windows does not have the right to install in folders?
kennysarmy replied to kennysarmy's topic in Windows
We're getting some success installing the software, but a fair few Windows 10 devices are throwing this up: App installation failed with error message: Deployment Add operation with target volume C: on Package Shapr3D.Shapr3D_5.500.6004.0_neutral_~_dvv5p1vgwv6mp from: (Shapr3D.Package_5.500.6004.0_x64_ARM64.msixbundle) failed with error 0x8000FFFF. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=235160 for help diagnosing app deployment issues. (0x8000ffff) In a room of 20, just over half have given this error, yet the other installed fine :/ -
Exchange between us and support for Shapr3D - could this be right?? Installation issue 20 days ago Please advise if it's possible to download an MSI or EXE for installation at our school as we don't have access to the Microsoft App Store. I've been able to download a large file - it's still not an MSI or EXE, its this file: Shapr3D.Package_5.490.5951.0_x64_ARM64.msixbundle I get this error when I try and run this file. App Installer failed to install package dependencies. Ask the developer for package. Peter 17 days ago Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us. Could you please send me the detailed hardware and software specs of the machine you are using Looking forward to your response, Peter Shapr3D l Support Help 15 days ago Please see attached system information. Does this give you what you need? Peter 14 days ago Hi Thanks for the info, this is what I was looking for. The installation stops because the EDU version of Windows does not have the right to install in folders where Shapr3D should be installed. Do you have a different device that is running a regular version of Windows? Best: Peter Help 14 days ago No, we are a school, all our computes are running Windows Edu.

Smoothwall cloud filter
kennysarmy replied to CrootUK's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We've just had a load of our on-prem policies randomly deleted from our box, causing a bit of havoc with our admin staff! Smoothwall have admitted this is because the cloud filter cannot handle policies applied at the user level! Thanks for letting me know this would happen when signing up to trial the cloud filter option :/ Hoping support can retrieve and put back all these polices that have been deleted! One to watch out for! -
Oxford/Cambridge Admissions Testing Issues
kennysarmy replied to FragglePete's topic in Educational Software
Anyone going through a smoothwall been able to unfilter the Live Chat on the "admissionstesting.ox.ac.uk" site? Just keep getting "Currently Live Chat is not available, but you can always connect us below:" - works if we bypass the smoothwall. I've tried allowing: admissionstesting.ox.ac.uk crosstalk06.tcsion.com eu-chat-1.haloitsm.com tcsion.com But still getting a 500 error against : https://crosstalk06.tcsion.com/ws/server?username=null&userlk=null&resource -
Email Retention Period / Policy
kennysarmy replied to timbo343's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Microsoft have removed our ability to manage retention policies as it's no longer covered by the Office A1 licence How are others coping with this? Buying A3 licences for all mailboxes they need to run retention policies on? Any other options to stop staff hoarding data in their mailboxes? Could powershell scripts remove all emails in user's mailboxes older than a set date? -
Now we've discovered that we cannot use retention policies as we only have Office A1 licence and you now need A3 to be compliant, I wondered what my options are to stop staff holding on to data longer than our GDPR policy allows? Is it possible to run powershell scripts that would delete emails older than a certain date from users mailboxes?
-
https://m365maps.com/files/Office-365-Education-All.htm I'm reading it that A1 is everything at the bottom in dark red. A3 gives you everything in A1 plus those in the lighter red. A5 gives you everything in A1 plus A3 plus those at the top in orange. My reseller is disputing this :/ I've been told "All the bottom items are the ones you get in Office A3 and the top section is what you get if you have the A5 licence"

Setting/Amending Retention Policies in M365

A3 should also do it, is it clear whether just the ADMIN need an A3/5 licence to edit and add policies or do all the mailboxes that you are trying to set on need the higher licence too? -

Setting/Amending Retention Policies in M365
kennysarmy replied to EssentialRug's topic in Cloud Services
I'm going to speak to my Microsoft Licence people about getting an additional licence. -
Our staff have to accept a weekly HTTPS Interception warning message generated by the on-prem Smoothwall. I've a custom category called Bromcom which is set to Do Not Inspect. I thought this would allow Bromcom to function even if the weekly message was ignored. We're getting issues with Bromcom not displaying correctly until the message is checked off. The URL's in our Bromcom category are: bam.nr-data.net bi bidfooddirect.co.uk bootstrapcdn.com bromcom.com bromcomvle.com cdn.walkme.com cloudflare.com cloudmis.bromcom.com getbeamer.com googleapis.com highcharts.com jquery.com js-agent.newrelic.com microsoft.com microsoftonline.com mouseflow.com mychildatschool.com newrelic.com nr-data.net services.bromcom.com vision.bromcom.com vivomiles.com walkme.com Does anyone know of any other URL's I need for the above to work?
