Surely the fact that the sites use PHP is irellevent? Any server side language (ASP, Perl etc) would be equally vulnerable to SQL injection?

Surely the "free-as-in-speech" part of Open Source is constitutionally American? Just as American as bringing patriotism into unrelated arguments and discussions. The way that they use the term "Americans" when they mean "people" - even in legislation like the "Americans with Disabilities Act" interchangably irritates me deeply.

I think that's just a matter of demographics - more schools than colleges = more people working in schools. FWIW I work in a Uni and find the site very useful.

To reitterate a point made earlier - "good" spiders obey robots.txt, but less reputable sites won't. If you don't want the outside world to see parts of the site, make sure they can't see the site. Taking the page off Google isn't going to cut it.

Invert it using Audacity and import it to the music track in timeline view might do it.

If you can record a sample of the noise alone (so in a silent room) you may be able to use the noise reduction technique in Audacity or similar - these work by inverting the waveform of the sample of "clean" noise and adding it to the recording so that it cancels it out, much like noise reducing headphones do.

Arguably it's a matter for the publisher to persue - although it's your company's revenue which is being hurt, it's their copyright which is being infringed, so they who have the legal recourse.

Just don't do what I did on a driving lesson which directly followed a day when I'd been working on some programming which made heavy use of arrays. Instructor: "Take the third exit" I counted them 0,1,2,3 like you do an array and come off on the fourth!

Interesting stuff. So if I'm in Lane 1, on a relatively clear motorway. There's nothing ahead of me and I'm doing 70. I notice that ahead there's a lorry which is going to be doing less than my speed. There is a vehicle hogging lane 2 doing 50. Are you saying that I should do 1 > 2 > 3 > 2 > 1 to overtake the numpty in lane 2 rather than remaining in the lane where I'm established? I would always stay in 1 until I was well past said numpty and overtake the lorry by moving straight into 2. I hadn't thought of that as undertaking before now!

So you're in Lane 2, following some muppet doing 50mph. Are you suggesting that you'd use lane 1 to get round them rather than lane 3 or have I missed the point? I guess there is a point where you can argue whether moving into lane 1 and back into 2 is completing a previous overtake and starting a new one!

Comparatively little is - the BBC only has 6 HD capable studios in the entire country (3 at TV Centre, 3 in Glasgow) for example. Following DSO, there will only be about 4 HD channels on Freeview HD. Sadly digital TV has become an exercise in cramming in as many channels as possible rather than taking advantage of the quality which is possible with digital transmission.
