I did see a Dell ultra mobile projector today - really tiny. Pretty good image quality at about 40-45" diagonal. No idea what its like in a bright room but still better than expected. The learnpads were good - really moved on in tech and Learnpad for iPad too, that was a surprise.

Also for those of us going tomorrow and Saturday as well. Would be really good to know what really stood out and impressed, especially in some of the smaller stands where it's easy to overlook stuff.

Any ideas?

I've been asked to look at a member of staff's external hdd. It's a 500GB WD Passport P/N WDBACY5000ABK with encryption. The encryption password still works and it says the drive is unlocked, a new drive mounts to a drive letter but is showing as RAW with 0 bytes capacity. If it was an unencrypted disk, I'd attack with Easeus Data Recovery but....... Any ideas???

Either that or they came to an amicable agreement but probably a troll.

I agree with previous posters and steel cable running diagonally to the two metal beams. I'd make sure the cable is attached as close to the base of the pole as possible and insert some turn buckle rigging screws like the ones in this picture to give you some degree of flexibility; http://www.wire-rope-direct.com/images/turn-buckle-rigging-screw.jpg

I'd be inclined to say that whatever is in your contract is pretty pointless given some of the examples of sheer comedy genius above. I would be astonished if any ICT provider would hold you to the contract if you pointed them to this thread and even if they did, threaten to name and shame - I guarantee they'd walk away without a fuss.

One of our schools would like one of their teachers to be able to write documents and send e-mails in Chinese. We don't have any Chinese keyboards (which we could buy) or any PCs installed with the Chinese language but I was thinking that we could use some form of handwriting recognition is something like smart notebook to produce text in Chinese. I've installed Smart Notebook 11 with the Simplified and Traditional Chinese languages and set handwriting recognition to Chinese but I can't get it to recognise any characters as anything other than qwerty characters. Has anyone done anything like this before? If so, how did you do it?

Mainly it would be in the borough of Barnet (High Barnet down to Cricklewood) but with the possibility of some work in Hillingdon and Ealing. It would just about be possible with public transport but I imagine it would be very difficult to achieve.

Hard to think of a justification for this. Do you take the course via prescription?

Is that procured through LGfL/Virgin? If so, did you incur additional costs for this? If it isn't through LGfL/Virgin are you still retaining the e-mail and/or filtering services etc?

It's Virgin that are dealing with it currently. The cost increase is through LGfL and Virgin.

They are looking into sending us a breakdown of costs but as far as I'm aware, this is the only school in the borough with the extra charges.
