To reignite an old thread, we've been using Auslogics Duplicate File Finder but I've been wondering if there's any software out there that would not only delete the duplicate files but also put a shortcut in the location of the deleted file to a UNC path of the retained file. Not sure if this is even possible but would be a good feature.

In the past we've always used sync crates or trolleys and connected up either a laptop, MacBook, or Mac mini to the trolley/crate directly. Just a thought but, if we placed the trolley/crate next to a network point as it's home and used USB over ethernet adaptors, we could house a mac mini or other in the locked server room and just patch into the correct ports. Has anyone ever tried this? I'm assuming it would take a speed hit but I wonder by how much. Any thoughts appreciated.

I got it working (sort of) - bit of an amateur mistake - I put the full UNC path to the script in user properties in ADUC instead of just the filename. My next question though; It's a very simple script to map a couple of drives and add a printer but some software (client side) seems to remove the printer shortly after login - any ideas what's doing this?

RMMC very broken, no support contract.

Is there any way to force CC4 to use login scripts other than through RMMC? Can't seem to make login scripts work either through GPOs or through properties in ADUC Anyone ever managed this?

Even if it's not run by Link2ICT, something like a shared calendar would allow you all to keep an accurate diary of events/outages.

They're not running SIMs and as far as I know it wasn't triggered by any marketing - just a desire for a payment system.

I've been asked to research Payment systems for a primary school we support - I know some of our schools use Parent Pay but are there any others I should be looking into?

Has anyone looked into LGfL Trustnet or any other alternatives, I have mentioned it in a previous thread but from what I've read about Link2ICT you'd be getting a much better service at a lower cost - we honestly don't have any of these issues in our schools.

Gives the ability to login as a user on the iPad - which in turn gives access to shared drives (and user specific drives I think) ability to print as well. Worth giving Learnpad a call to ask about it.

Horses for courses really. I personally think the iPad and the apps are excellent and very well made and the Learnpad app could well turn the iPad into the multiuser network client most schools want. It won't take long to set up 30 of them - if you utilise the QRKeys to connect to WiFi and link them to your establishment it won't take long at all. Takes a bit longer to structure lessons, categories and activities but, in my experience, its well worth taking time to get those right early on - saves time in the long run.

The Learnpad for iPad looked really good - might be a good compromise.
